Rage Tail
I catch as many or more fishing it slow in-around lily pads. Just throw it in a hole in the pads, let it sink a little then twitch and hang on. Use a heavy (20#)mono leader an 50# braid and drag em out pads and all.

Girls Fishin' Tomorrow
OK guys hope we all know this was a joke. My bride took the photo of me and my dog that shows in my profile and I love to fish with her. She beats my quite often too, and she knows how to rub it in when she does. By all means take the bride along with the kids and grand kids--- boys and girls and have a wonderful time.

Costa Sunglasses
Had the fogging problem while turkey hunting. With a net over your head its a real problem. I got some wipes from "Rite Aid" drug store and solved the problem. Check your local drug store, make sure they say they are "anti fog" or something to that effect. They are really good fro cleaning w/o scratching too.

Does Your Dog Go Fishing With You?
Wouldn't go w/o him---or can't. He swam half way across the lake last time I tried to leave him behind.

New To Lake Fishing
I was in the same boat as you on the same Lake. Always been a pond fisherman. Beat the banks across from the landing at Rood Creek. Heck all of rood creek. Laydowns and irrigation pump. 1 mile south of Rood creek in main lake is a big patch of BIG lily pads on West side of Lake. Fish them and the hydrilla between them and the river channel. Especially fish a crank or spinnerbait on edge of the hydrilla nearest the channel. Hit the riprap at the entrance to Florence Marina, and the creek on other side of lake. Good luck Oh BTW its Lake "George"

How To Make A Zoom Horny Toad Float???
You can fish the horney toad and the Rage Toad both as buzz baits but the hookup rate is much better fishing them slow jerk pause or pulling it off the top of a lily pad. Not much quite as exciting as one hitting the rage toad when buzzing knowing you got to let her take it "just a little bit longer"

Lake Balance
Check out this website--magazine. http://www.pondboss.com/ Yes you should harvest some bass. The bluegills are the primary food source for bass in most areas of the country but they reproduce so fast you can have a "Bluegill fry occasionally too. Provide enough food for the food source and the bass will grow. EDIT: the forum is free for viewing.

Favorite Jig And Craw Combos
Siebert Storm series Swim jig OOMOD w/rage tail ochechobee craw Flippin jig w/ rage tail Falcon Lake craw or netbait baby bama craw. I like OOMODS head to flip-pitch if cover is not to thick. Really like this head for swimming, you have to swim it a bit sometimes in thin cover.

Xmas Tree Brush Piles
Jeff they are tied down with a conc. block. Just cant see it in the photo. They are about 5' maybe 6' trees. I have the pond down 6' right now to help with weed control (water shields) and to crowd the fish so they will fatten up a bit. I was surprised to see the trees myself along with a lot of cover I didn't know was there.

Xmas Tree Brush Piles
These 3 trees were put in the pond at least 10 years ago. I suspect my dad put them there year after year while he was still able. There are 8 that I can see now that were probably put in one year at a time. The last one that could have possibly been placed would have been in 2003

Baitcasters- Rh... Spinning- Lh...why?
I guess I am the only one here that really does it right. Daddy taught me so I know its the way its supposed to be done. I cast baitcaster with my left hand real with right. Throw spinner with right hand real with left. Daddy's reasoning---- "Son sometimes in order to catch em you just gotta throw it in their mouths. No time to switch hands." Daddy has passed on and but he loved bass fishing especially with a topwater plug.

Pay Fishing
Exactly why I posted here. Thanks again I really wasn't expecting this kind of response. I appreciate your thoughts ALL OF THEM. I remember when I swore I would "never" pay $100 to shoot doves. Then in less than 5 years from making that pledge I had paid $2k to join a "club" and paid $100/ shoot sometimes 2-3 per week. I also remember when I thought it ridiculous to pay $3 per acre to lease a 1000 acre hunting tract for deer. Don't do much of either now more so because of the "crowds" paying much more than this than the price. Speaking of crowds -- there was a post here about the lakes being crowed last weekend, and have any of you tried to fish a lake when there is a FLW tourney being held. Fishing just may well be headed towards the same way hunting is now. Again I thank you ALL for your comments and good luck all

Pay Fishing
How much would you guys be willing to pay for fishing 9 well managed Lakes totaling 150 Ac.? The lakes would be managed such that the opportunity to catch a 10 lb. bass would be very likely. The Lakes range in size from 75 Ac, 35 Ac and a couple 5 Ac ponds with some smaller that hold great potential for bank fishing.. Would you pay $100? $250 per day? Bear with me here Glenn I will not be advertising just looking into the possibilities. Thanks.

Extreme Rain
Just a couple months ago I was preying for rain. The farmers were irrigating out of the pond, it was clearer and lower than I had ever seen it then the rains started. At first I was glad to have a little color but then it got to look like a 75 Ac mud puddle. Haven't been fishing in 3 weeks in my main pond and its raining a "frog strangler" as I type. Still glad to have the rain. I will just have to wait to use those jigs I got last week from SO.

Being Told Not To Fish Here
You have no knowledge that the road and bridge are public property. If its a dirt road there is a very good chance that it is private property with an access easement. Even if the road is paved there is no guarantee that its not private. If it is public then where does the public-private property line exist? If you are casting away from the road-bridge and cast 25- 30 feet you have probably most assuredly cast onto private property and may be trespassing, depending on state laws. And as far as your "to hell with" statement how is that gonna help?? Statements and actions like these are some of the reasons its so hard to fish and hunt private properties. I guarantee if you say that to me I will respond in a not so pleasant manner towards you. Contact the owner and have a conversation with him. BTW the guy that sued my family died when he passed out drunk on a RR Tract and his "family" continued the suit. I guess they figured that if his hand wasn't injured he could have been drinking with both hands and would pass out long before he tried to crawl under the parked train.
