  1. Big colorado blade with a dark skirt and trailer. and welcome to the forum.
  2. I like the power pro. I use 10 lb for my light spinning set up, 30 lb for frogs or rattle traps and 65 lb for my flippin stick...
  3. Chewy granola bars and salted cashews, that is if I remember to eat...
  4. I have an older bass boat, 1992, and want to use it in the bay. What if any problems will I run into. Motor, fiberglass, carpet?
  5. I C&R most of the time. I say it is because I want my kids to have the same fishery as I do but mostly it's because I'm to lazy to clean fish. <-------------This 10+ went back after weighing and measurements and I now have a beautiful replica hanging on the wall...
  6. Went to Istokpoga yesterday and got skunked. After church and chores, the wife and I decided to hit lake Gibson for a few hours this afternoon. This is only my 2nd fish out of this lake. She killed a frog about sunset. 5.5 lbs on the boca grip. again, notice blue skies and 85* 5.5 / 17.27 x 100 = 31.85

I would have to go with Bobby or Terry. Anyone can have a great day on Kissimmee, even I had 12lbs in 4 fish 2 weeks ago....the key is having 4 consistent 17 lb days....That's a real trick on the Big K. It's gonna take 70 lbs to win this..
  8. Lakefront park in Kissimmee on the N end of Toho. There is a protected marina with a fishing pier. Next door is Big Toho Marina with a bait shop and snack bar.
  9. Ok guys, here is the delima. In order to qualify for the West Point Regional of the ABA, I have to fish istokpoga in a two day ABA tourney on the first weekend of April. The reason I "have " to fish it is because of scheduling conflict(my Mothers birthday party) during the summer in the other divisions that I fish...So I'm going to fish a one day Sat 15 Mar...Yes, 2 days from now. The only problem is I have only fished the lake twice and not caught a limit....Honestly, catching one 14" fish each day should get me enough points to qualify for West Point. Any advice would be appreciated....
  10. Dude thats a new Fl record. The qualifying weight is 35 lbs and there is not an "official" record holder...check this out... http://myfwc.com/fishing/record.html
  11. Welcome Aboard!
  12. Welcome and I agree with Catt but then again I fish with only lightning rods.....

    Welcome
  14. Around $80 for a tourney day with gas at $3.50+.. Most of my non-tourney fishing is now in smaller lakes with a lot of time on the trolling motor....
  15. Step 1. Get your frog ready. Step 2. Get your boat in about 3' of water. Step 3. Make 5000 casts into 1-2' of water. Step 4. Chances are you drug that frog across a few beds. I normally ask the fish I catch if they were on a bed or not. I'm not sure how honest they are but most of them say no.
  16. I don't need a new club, I fish in several clubs and three divisions of the ABA. And overall I have had a great experience fishing tournaments. What irritated me is the numerous posts and complaints I hear about the non boaters and their responsibilities and no one ever holding a boater responsible for their actions. It seems that just by being a "boater" you are exempt from any criticism.
  17. I think fishing is 80% finding the fish, 15% presentation, and 5% lure choice. However, sometimes that 5% is the difference between catching and not.
  18. I would start in Goblets Cove in the very eastern end in the pads that are 3-4 ft deep. Mixed in there are small patches of kissimmee grass and submerged hydrilla. Use a frog or a non weighted stick worm in black/blue flake. My non boater and I pulled 14 lbs out of there after lunch 2 weeks ago. I also pulled a few off of Browns Point with the black/bl flk worm. Look for areas where the vegetation is mixed or changing. I would start where the pencil reeds meet the kissimee grass.
  19. Oh yea....Welcome aboard....you will fit in just fine here...lol
  20. What's wrong with grape soda?
  21. I'm mostly looking for vegetation changes since the last time I was there. I also try to pick a particular spot on the lake I have never fished and give it a try.
  22. After fishing both boater and non-boater this past year here are a few things that I have already incorporated and the rest of you should.... 1. There is never a good reason to go 80 mph across rough water in a tournament that had a $70 entry fee... 2. In most formats the non-boater has the right to choose locations for 1/2 of the day. Why don't you shut up about your spots and follow the rules. 3. I have always paid more than the suggested amount to my boater....and I have had to listen to all the complaints about the no-good sobs who did not pay. Do you think YOU could empty one the 14 storage compartments on board so I have somewhere to put my lunch and rain gear. 4. Just because you are the boater does not mean you are better than me. For the record not all non-boaters are dead beat no skill guys who don't own a boat. My boat is nicer than yours and there is a better than 50% chance that I am going to beat you. 5. Even if you are competing against the back seat guy, have integrity as a boat captain. I take it personally if I DON"T put my non-boater on fish. You do realize that there are more important things in life than than the $157 dollar check you could get for 3rd place. If you are offended by this post, to bad...That means you are probably the guy that gives the rest of us a bad name.
  23. I may have missed on the anglers but I got the weight right......For Saturday I would say no more than 2 bags over 15 and Sunday with the front those fish are going to get lockjaw....BAD....I would bet half of those professionals don't catch a limit....
  24. Family Secret Bait Co (Josh and Taylor) are very active in the "soft plastic recycling program" Send us your plastic and we will send you some new ones....
