    Nice fish!
  2. Welcome back to the world of softer water ;D
  3. Welcome to the DD club!
  4. With colder water temps I would stay in the creek channel and on the deep flats. As the water warms I would fish the north end around the islands for spawning fish. As for the comment about "just go fish it", I don't think that's fair. Everything I read about fishing new water is, first, get a good map and study it. If you don't know what to look for on a good map, then this is what I thought was the place to ask.
  5. After fishing Kissimmee over 40 times last year my son and I finally figured out a pattern. Certain conditions, wind, cloud cover, temp, time of day, we just look at each other and say "it's time to hit the spot". Last month the "spot" produced a 4 #er with 30 min left in a tourney....it's funny that without that "feeling" of it's time, we can't catch a cold there....
  6. Great fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Nice show, that is really beautiful country.
  8. Nice Job!!!
  9. The actual percentage of Jerks on the water appears to be lower than in traffic but they are still there. I think because there are so few bad apples in the boating family that they stick out more.
  10. Look on americanbassanglers.com
  11. I don't catch many small fish at all. But here is why. I fish with 1) a frog 2)blue/black jig 3)10" worm. These baits catch mostly 3-5 lb fish and that's how I start and finish my tournament days.
  12. Stickmarsh is really not that bad. You just have to use some caution. I have only fished it twice but have only hit 1 stump (at idle) on the north end of the Stick Marsh and been hung on a stump (with the TM) once on the south end of Farm 13. If you are looking for possibly the trip of a lifetime, then I would opt for the Stickmarsh.

Friday AM- A couple of hours on Lake Gibson produced this one. Windy conditions - flippin the cattails. Saturday AM - Josh and I went back to Gibson and he got this one on a frog. Sunday - Took the family to EG Simmons park for Easter and we caught a few saltwater fish. Taylor, Nicole and I caught a spotted trout each and Nicole got a small goliath grouper.
  14. September is tough!!!!!95*++ and extremely finicky bite, but if they are on, it's real good. A guide is going to cost you 275-350 bucks for a day. There are a bunch of us around here so you should get some good advice.
  15. I have several of my favorite spots to fish during a particular tournament series. They are not "secret" but they don't get fished much. I found them while hiding out of the rough wind last year or purposely fishing away from everyone else. I have given these spot away, mostly to other BR guys who have been willing share with me.
  16. Welcome aboard
  17. Why do all the gators you find have that mysterious hole in the top of their heads?
  18. It is clearer than most lakes in fla. But it was down the last time I was there and had trouble using the ramp. There is limited parking. I have caught fish in the south end next to I-4 where it is deeper with a 10" ribbon tail/purple with blue flake and schooling bass on a rattle trap right off the ramp. Also a jointed rapala J-11 in silver and white thrown along the grass.
  19. good job there fourbizz
  20. I would say that Johns Lake is my favorite lake without a huge amount of pressure that I have caught big fish in. I have started fishing some of the smaller lakes in Polk Co that have limited boat ramp parking. This keeps the tourneys away. 21. Congrats on your successful vacation, choice of spouses and joining the forum!!!! My wife is the one who got me back into fishing. She goes with me all the time.
  22. 10.5 lbs - July 07 - West Point Lake Ga - DD22 - only 25" long but fat <<<<-------------------Here it is. This fish was 5 inches thick. The fattest sucker I have ever seen.
  23. I'll bet 25% have never even seen vinyl. ;D
