Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
I don't understand the problem with posting pictures of something that actually happened. It seems to me that the more people see this, the less likely it will happen again. Just my thoughts.

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
I have read all the reports. But I am supposed to believe that Lane is the only person on the planet who took pictures and that those pictures are "top secret" and that we can see them only after the NSA clears them for release. Something smells a little fishy.

Bass Lakes near Orlando with Restaurants on the lake...
It's on Dead River between Lake Harris and Lake Eustis. Put in at Buzzard beach, fish a while, eat and fish some more. We do it all the time. Lake Ship in Winter Haven has Jesse's Landing but the new ramp may be to shallow.

LOOKING TO FISH Florida.
Stickmarsh is not that big but is DANGERous if you don't know it. Central Fl is full of lakes that will yield a trophy at any time, several over 5 lbs is common, 6-10 lbers are likely and over 10 is a possibility. It really depends on what you want. Our weather is iffy at best this time of the year with strong winds out of the east likely for days in a row. According to the FWC lake Istokpoga produces more fish over 8 lbs than any other lake in Florida including Stickmarsh. If it were me I would get a 1/2 day trip on either Toho or Kissimmee and then fish use your boat for the rest of your trip. If you need specifics just PM me. FD

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
As an avid tournament fisherman I was disturbed by the rumors of fish killed and the subsequent discussions on this form. I have yet to see any pictures and proof of this fish kill. If this happened as reported are we just going to let it go away after our attention span has run out? Or did it happen at all?

Most irritating fishing condition?
Air Boats - They are everywhere, Sunday I was drifting down a canal about a half cast off the bank and had an Airboat go between me and the bank. I wish I had a big crank bait on the deck at that time.

Solutions To Fish Mortality In Tournaments
WRB, I still could not find the 28% number. The studies were conducted between 10 and 15 years ago. I would say that "responsible" tournament fisherman are much better educated on this matter and these conclusions are no longer accurate, if they ever were. That being said, the second and third pages were full of useful information, most of which I have seen in practice at the tournaments out of Camp Mack that I fish. Maybe we just do a better job of fish management in Florida because our highly pressure lakes require us to.

Solutions To Fish Mortality In Tournaments
WRB wrote "Consider that during the average summer tournament 28%* of the bass thought to be healthy died of delayed mortality. The bass looked good and swam away, then died. Most of these bass don't float on the surface, some do and are usaully eaten by birds or turtles before they can be detected by other fisherman." If they don't float and were not seen by other fisherman, then how accurate is the "28%" number? Just a question. Reduce tournament limits....That can be done by any repsonsible tournament promoter. Reduce the length of the tournament day, or split it into 2 weigh ins, morning and afternoon. Again the promoter can do this now. Increase the penalty for dead fish. This will solve most of the dead fish by focusing the angler's attention on live fish and not more fish.
