What is your go to Lure??
I have 2 that are always tied on. Blue/Black chatter bait. I flip it, pitch it, swim it, and dead stick it. Usually catches at least one fish a day. Frog, Gambler cane toad in lane toad color. These 2 baits don't catch high numbers of fish but they both catch big fish.

State Vs State Final rules and current list of entries
"post your best Avid look a like photo..(Ray Charles glasses or shadowy self portrait or just plain fuzzy pic)" This was the original definition of the entry fee. We have a crusty old guy, legend really, who signature is these HUGE sunglasses and really bad photos. They are usually taken with a camera phone, grainy, out of focus, shadows over his face....post your worst photo of you and a fish and you will probably qualify.

Really good photos of the Eclipse
LBH, I was using a Sony CyberShot with Steady Shot and a 12x Optical zoom and 4x digital zoom. My tripod was a giant bean bag on the roof of my wifes explorer. Even with that, I have 385 shots that are terrible, well they are cool but you can't see any detail. If I had a remote shutter switch it would be easier to get no blurry shots. When you are zoomed in at 48X even your breathing makes for blurs. BTW, the moon is the hardest thing I have ever tried to shoot.

OK, dsa. I think all the typo's have been corrected. You are borderline "unsportsmanlike". In the future don't point out all of the directors errors before the tourney starts...........it's just plain irritating..

LBH, just lock that old thread. Me might need to refer back to some of the pre-tourney smack talk when this is done. If everyone plays together well during this one, maybe we can do it again in Aug/Sep when we have 90* water and y'all have the advantage.

RULES 1. This is for FUN... 2. There are 2 divisions. Largemouth and Smallmouth. You must declare that you are fishing one or both before March 1, on this thread. 3. This contest runs from daybreak on March 1, 2008 to sunset on May 15, 2008. 4. Artificial bait ONLY. If you are sight fishing, the fish must be hooked inside the mouth. All fish must be caught in PUBLIC fishing areas. No private stocked ponds. 5. Scoring of the fish shall be completed as follows: Example fish weight = 10.5 lbs (my pb) state record Fl = 17.27 lbs FW / SR x 100 = your score 10.5/17.27x100 = 60.80 rounded to 2 decimals In order for your fish to count, you must submit a picture, the state record weight for the state the fish was caught in, and an accurate weight of the fish. Your fish must be submitted within one week of being caught. (No sandbagging) You may submit as many fish as you want as long as subsequently caught fish are larger. All fish must be submitted before 7 am on May 16, 2008. 6. You can be disqualified for unsportsmanlike behavior. The definition of "unsportsmanlike" is completely at the discretion of myself and the moderators. 7. Entry Fee - You must post your best Avid look-a-like photo prior to March 1. Looking to compile information on fishing natural lakes
Muddy, I fish shallow natural lakes with practically no structure other than weeds of various types. So here is what I think I know.... Depth changes of 6"s or more constitutes a drop off and will hold fish. Vegetation breaks usually hold fish. Isolated clumps or edges of weedlines usually hold fish.

Bass Fishing Matrix
Bought it, Tried it, my computer crashed about 6 months later. Don't think I will be replacing it. It is the same as the Color C Lector. Could be helpful if you know NOTHING about fishing.

Do you have any fishing quirks?
I eat fish the night before a tourney.. No bananas on the boat. Always have dill pickles with my lunch. I never tag my first fish with my white culling tag. Man, I need some help.....

Presto Pot Version 2 double trouble
I can't find them at W-mart down here.... I poured a Delmart 4.5/5.5 combo stick bait with voids in the middle. The pot we stole from the kitchen did not pour so well. I think if I could slow down my pour rate the air could escape. I also poured a 4" tadpole (1 piece mold) they turned out the best, an eel looking creature, and tried a lizard several times. I found 15 molds on ebay for 40 dollars so we were playing....What should the consistency of plastic be when the temp is correct? Thin as water? If you are recycling plastics when do you add them? When do you add salt and glitter?

Presto Pot Version 2 double trouble
Where did you find the Presto Pot? I have been looking but can't find one. On a side note, we poured our first worms yesterday just playing around. I could not get but about 10% of them to fill without voids. We are still working on technique and temp control.

very frustrated
Dude, don't give up. I fished TOHO today, middle of the spawn in 80* weather and only caught 5 small fish.....You will get on them and these difficult days make the good ones even sweeter.

BR State VS State fish off......
I would agree, Roger. I'm thinking Mar 1 through May 15 gives most of the northern guys a chance to play and lets us southern boys play before the water temp hits 90. And as LBH said earlier, forethought leads to longevity. This is something that is beginning to look repeatable.
