  1. 4 have gone overboard and only able to get 1 back.
  2. We go on a vacation on the water out of state somewhere every year. The licenses (3) are in the boat before we leave. If you are going to use a resource you should help fund it.
  3. Last year was awesome... The day I fished with Keri we caught 5 different species on the same sandbar on the same crankbait in about 20 casts. Large, small, spotted, drum and a huge blue gill.
  4. How do you adjust for changing lake levels/tides? Wayne - Are you running that on you 1198? Several of my favorite local lakes have no cartography available or only have 5ft contours. I would like to know how to do this myself.
  5. Well that's sketchy, as is the author.
  6. Can you at least tease us with sketchy, inaccurate info?
  7. OK, first of all the rod link you posted is to a "spinning rod" if my english translator is correct. If you have a spinning rod with a casting reel you have a problem. If you have in fact a "casting" rod then do the following. Adjust the tension on the small knob on the left side of the reel so that when you press the thumb bar to release the spool then your lure slowly falls to the floor without any thumb pressure on the spool. Then set the brakes on the right side of the reel to 5. IF you are casting into the wind set it to a higher number than 5. As you gain more thumb control lower the number. As ARV stated, line and lure weight make a difference also. You should have 8 to 10# mono for most applications on a light rod . Also start your casting practice with a small soft plastic rigged with a 3/8 oz bullet weight. This combination should give you 25 m to 50 m distance depending on your skill. Then watch this http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-cast-baitcast.html over and over and over.
  8. Spinnerbait just underneath the school. It is the only time I can stand to throw it.
  9. 5-6-7 pounders are not that big a deal around here. I catch 20-25 over 5 lbs a year. I had 3 over 8 in an afternoon a few years ago. I built a 2.5 acre pond for a client 4 years ago and we stocked it and have been managing it for trophy bass. I stocked it with 750 fingerlings after we had a stable population of minnows and blue gills. Most of those fish that survived are over 5 lbs now. It's almost like cheating.

I was raised with a gun case in the hallway right outside my bedroom door. I was taught how to use and care for them and to leave them alone until it was time to use one. That is how I raised my two and they can both shoot well and have a healthy respect for fire arms. This was one of the many battles I fought with my EX inlaws. Stand up for what you believe no matter who says anything.
  11. I love it. I live in Polk Co. Fl and our Sheriff Grady Judd believes the same thing. Here is a clip from a recent article about him. When deputies fired dozens of rounds at a man who had killed one of their own, the sheriff was asked why deputies shot the suspect sixty eight times. Judd replied, "Because we ran out of bullets." His response got the attention of the nation. He also claims to be cheap. Saving money is his top priority. He even decided inmates would no longer be supplied with free underwear. "For those who want underwear, they buy underwear. For those who don't, they can let the breeze blow up one leg and down the other," Judd explained. The move saved the jail almost $50,000. When Judd decided the days of "free" lunch were over, he ended up saving another $200,000. "If you want to have peanut butter and jelly, and have sodas to drink and coffee with your breakfast and real eggs instead of egg patties - stay out of jail," Judd said.
  12. You sent a payment Dear Homer Harrelson, You sent a payment for $100.00 USD to Tackle The Storm Foundation. Please note that it may take a little while for this payment to appear in the Recent Activity list on your Account Overview. Amount: $100.00 USD Sent on: September 25, 2013 That's the $70 for the Dicks certificates and another $30 for the three over 5 lb I caught while messing around in a pond that I built and stocked 4 years ago. Thanks to Nitrofreak for getting these donated in the first place.
  13. I have used only everstart for around 10 years now. Average life for the 29 group has been over 250 cycles (that's around 3 years for me). The great thing about walmart is I once had a problem with a battery on vacation and was able to swap it at 830 on a Sunday night in BFE Georgia. Try doing that with any other brand.
  14. Low of 73 this morning. I need to find my winter gear soon.

I use a white twin tailed grub (Rage Menace) texas rigged and a white spinner bait(1/2 oz Strike back). It looks like bait fish and is very effective this time of year. Some days they won't even look at it though.
  16. Yep, take as many of the crappie and small bass out as you can. I manage a 2.5 acre pond that we are trying to raise trophies. We don't have crappies but we have huge tilapia. Last week with some fish pellets and a cast net, my boys took home a 5 gal bucket of fillets. Here is your best source of management info http://www.pondboss.com/
  17. Exactly. I have tried to read it three times and can't get through it. I quit.
  18. You should find a tournament trail that fishes the draw system and fish as a non boater for a year. You will learn a lot in a hurry if you pay attention.
  19. Lots of Taliban running around Alabama these days? Or are their numbers shrinking?

A Star Wars nerd. Who knew?
  22. Here is what I propose 1- give the marathon tickets to someone who would actually use them. They can donate whatever they think the tickets are worth. 2- I will send Nitro my address and he can send me the gift certs. I will donate the $70 on DSG's behalf. I will give them to Taylor and Nicole who will spend them in 12 seconds or less.
  23. you could send them to me and I will donate $70 on DSG's behalf if that makes it easier. I spend a lot of money there.
  24. She even clears a jam and still gets the bad guys. sniff, sniff, I am so proud. http://s232.photobucket.com/user/leeh1210/media/3B32AFA6-6AE0-4664-9AF0-2E3A2333BE59-20967-000020D7DF4B9291_zpsa7505c93.mp4.html
