  1. Jerkbaits are just as bad if not worse. Also whats going to happen if you get on a good shallow crank bite... ;D
  2. Starting to get into some post spawn activity here.Schooling fish,a little topwater, and very aggressive strikes. Only thing making it a little tough is this blasted high pressure system that is holding on like the plague. We all know how much Florida bass love bluebird skies. : If you fish a spot where you can hit mats in shallow water while it's sunny though it seems pretty good.
  3. What about rapalas and bandits? A little more budget friendly IMO. No, I don't think it's crazy either. Its very easy to spend that much if you consider one single brand, various colors, various, depth, various weight/size,then maybe buy two of the good ones in case you lose one.It gets insane reeally quick. Oh and forgot to mention that a few lipless in the 3/4 and 1 oz size wouldn't hurt either. They can run real deep and be as productive if not more on some days.Unless of course you already went crazy on those before too.
  4. Jb weld works great for a month or two.It quickly cracks from flexing and from temperature change then you got to sand it clean it and apply again. Major PITA. I have been looking for something better. Thanks guys,I never heard of the other two products mentioned before.
  5. Good to hear buddy. I too have noticed things are starting to move FINALLY. I got skunked last Wed at a pit that I fish, now you got me curious.
  6. X-rap 8 and #10 in silver, white, and or clown. According to my buddy they are junk though :
  7. Usually until the head rips and it won't hold a hook.Until then you can keep spinning the bait to a fresh side.Luckily these usually last a bit longer than a senko due to the overall thickness but it still depends on how the fish hits it and what occurs during the fight.Any soft plastic may potentially be good for one fish only .
  8. You guys must all be horrible fisherman if you don't show up to the lake with a couple thousand dollars worth of equipment. :
  9. Pretty cool man!
  10. Does the plug itself leak or the housing around it?
  11. Whats up bud, long time no see.Good to have you back.
  12. 4/0 Owner wide gap plus is the best hook for this bait IMO.I've tried the Gamakatsu 4/0 and it doesn't hold a candle to the owner I also like the black/blue tail for dirtier water. That color comes in the Kinami palm tree...same bait.
  13. The absolute best time to hit the little walk around ponds is during spawn. That way you can get a glimpse of what is actually swimming there.
  14. Too funny. ;D You guys are a blast.
  15. I bit presumptuous, no? For the record, I'd take a Hula Popper over this bloated dog turd any day. Agreed : I bought four of those pieces of shh and out of all four none of them walked at all whatsoever in the slightest and 3 of them sank like a stone.Waste of money and I got bit.No, I don't fish tournaments but the bottom line is what exactly does that have to do with anything at all?!?! I consider myself a master at walking baits of any type I can do it blinfolded and in my sleep and have done so for many years.Thats not the point either, right? I just finished wiping and if you want me to put some gloves on and fish them out of the bowl then I got 3 for sale bud. Come on down to Florida with your shads bud and feel free to haul water, just leave some for the rest of us... I also just noticed that the two shad masters have only one post each.Must be culprit sales people :
  16. Lakewood Ranch huh? Tons of water out there. Most all of it is private and or under construction I fish the town center lake out there every so often but it is a stunted dink hole.If you want to catch 50 .5 lb fish in a few hours thats the place to go LOL,they will bite anything since they are starved. In this area there is a Gravel pit off Honore rd in Sarasota between University and 17th.Runs beside I-75. In an area called the meadows.Killer fishin hole.Electric only. It is all structure fishing though definitely not for the bank beater and a boat is a must.Check out google earth and you can see it. I don't get around a whole lot due to not having proper transportation or a trailer for my boat.I fish mostly small ponds/lakes in this area and am always looking for new holes off the beaten path. PM me if you want to get together or if you know a few little spots out in LWR to hit sometime.
  17. A little tackle shop in my area has been selling those.I have been wanting to post it for a while now but never got around to spending the money on one.You beat me to it.The wording on the back of the package is the funniest. It doesn't show a close enough picture on the website of it.
  18. No insert. Tungsten can easily cut or fray your line especially braid.
  19. Berkley realistix power minnow 4 inch size...if you can find em.One of the few things I actually catch fish on d-shot.Also Yammy kut tail worm 4 and 5 inch, nose hooked or t-rigged weedless
  20. Mr pink and mr construction cone?!?! ;D
  21. Way to go dude. Great fish and excellent photo.
  22. around 10-10.5
  23. Yep,but look at it this way if you got a bunch of them around the action may start to get hot while they attempt to put some meat back on their bones. I been getting a few like that here and there. 5lbers that should be 7, or 3 lbers that should be 4.5-5 etc.. BTW nice bertha in your avatar. What did it go for?
  24. Good luck man. As for me it has rained for 2 days straight and now the wind will be howling @ 20-25 tonight and all day tomorrow from the north. A little too much for my jonboat I'm afraid. SO much for my "pre-frontal conditions" this week. : >
  25. Just from my experiences: large spook type baits and frogs for me.Also, believe it or not GYCB kut tail worms and long straight tail worms weightless walked on the surface have bagged the most pigs for me.
