  1. Welcome to the boards. You have to experiment with the retrieves. No one way will work best all the time with any cranking method. One of the best ways to help yourself at this point would probably be to check out some of the articles here on cranking/deep cranking.
  2. Some of them are just plain duds and WILL take on water like nobodys business . Kinda hard to squeeze it out on a long cast after it loses all action after 3 twitches. The first few of these I got were awesome the next 5 or so I bought were trash and barely fishable. Still haven't tried putting the hole on top yet though.
  3. x2 I don't do too well with this bait myself but the success I have had was had by working it like a fluke twitch and settle or walking the dog underwater.

    Too Cool!
  5. I breathe while I fish. I'm sure there's some some danger in that. I'm sure the sea kittens will recover from their sore mouths as well, and the ones that don't will get eaten, which is something thats been practiced since the dawn of time.
  6. Good answers so far. I've bundled oak branches up and made brush piles using a half cinder block tied on the bottom. You can also take these and christmas trees and stand them in a 5 gallon bucket with a little concrete in the bottom One thing about christmas trees though is that they don't last long before they deteriorate. If you can get a hold of one of those giant wooden spools that phone wires and such come on then they are killer if you make a reef with pvc pipe.Piles of cinder blocks and chunk concrete work well in muddy ponds. I am not a big fan of pallets. Too snaggy. In most areas it would be considered dumping to add thse kinds of items. Always check to see if it is leagl if you can. If private property then by all means dump away. 8-)
  7. Cha! But it still doesn't explain why no one catches fish with THIS bait.
  8. +1 I couldn't tell you the best way to use it either.I've never caught a cold with it.
  9. Can't beat bells.............where I shop. Columbia, Reel Legends, Guy Harvey. Cool. I'll have to check them out as well. I got a dozen locations near me plus the main factory distribution outlet in town as well.
  10. Yes the wingding. Fish go around eating crosses every day.
  11. I havent read this whole thread but just to throw my .02 in: 1) They have to be rigged PERFECTLY.If not then they don't perform. 2) They are about the most durable baits on the market and also take to mend it and lighter treatmets extremely well, thus making them well worth the extra money IMO. On a craw I can get between 8-10 bites or fish normally.
  12. Also a decent choice at times when the water is choppy and in the rain as well.Over submerged veggies and through pads.Try to bump brush, sticks, logs, pillings, stumps. Don't hesitate to make multiple casts to likely areas. It is a reaction bait and sometimes you have to irritate them enough with it.As a general rule slower is better but you should change speeds every so often when pounding a particular spot to see what they want. Stick with it if your determined to catch fish on it.Don't make a few random casts then put it down. It is generally known to produce larger than average fish.
  13. Saw em live in 98 with Coal Chamber and Machine Head. Needless to say Slipknot stole the show and was the most intense mosh I ever been caught in. Sad to hear this but on the other hand things like this don't surprise me to hear.
  14. Well no stealing LOL. I don't have molds but would love to get into it. No matter how good the originals are they can always be modified one way or another.
  15. Of course! Best thing is you can take parts off of worn out baits and make some creepy crawlies that the fish haven't seen.
  16. My buddy gave me a pack of these Lunker City Water Widows today.http://lunkercity.com/ I took a look at them and decided it was time to play. What do ya think? Made with a Rage Space Monkey. Brush Hog Lake Fork Hyper Worm Now I need to go flippin.

  19. Darn nice fish dude! My favorite conditions as well
  20. Was that Guido Hibdon scatter shad? I had a pack when I was pretty young and at that time had no clue as how to fish it or even rig it. Looks like a great bait though. They still make em?
  21. A popper worked slow with a louder bloop can potentially draw a bass out of heavy cover or attact them during low light or dirtier water situations.
  22. The advice given on "how" to make it bloop better is spot on.However if your looking for a different brand that excels in blooping or chugging then look at which ones have a deeper more concave cup on the front. For example the zell pop or the rico have a flat face with a lip on top. This causes the sound to be more subtle and makes them spit better. The rebel pop-r is right in between. You sort of get the best of both worlds. You can make it do everything. That said some good bloopers for me are Heddon Poppin Image(my favorite),Heddon Lucky 13,Hula Popper,River2Sea Bubble Popper.
  23. Rage craw black and blue and gambler flappin worm in black and blue with a rattlin sinker or brass and glass will give you a lot of "thump" in that dirty water.
