  1. Hardly more than the cost of Katsu. The quality is much better.Gammy has a select few styles I use still, but other than that IMHO Katsu sucks, waste of money. BTW... cool picture Raul
  2. Its pretty amazing when 2,3,or 4 of these crazy fellas are trying to gang up un a super spook knocking it all over the place.Had it happen once.Have caught them on 6.5 inch kut tails with a 4/0 hook. How did that fish ever squeeze that between his jaws??!! He was as long as the bait! But this is also coming from a fish that is known to eat your spit off the water on occasion LOL.
  3. Think that guy is gonna be a little ticked when his magic wand catches very few or no fish at all.Unless of course hes a millionaire. Like I said in another post,I remember 40+ dollar chatterbaits on ebay. What a joke. Those baits arent that great and wont catch fish that the right spinnerbait or crank wont.I also seen some swim senkos before the market was fully open for them sell for 30 + dollars! Back to the original question:NO they havent lost their minds.....They sold it on E-BAY.
  4. Sorry, never had that prob with owner.Once I get one on those they never get off.Maybe some of these knowledgable folks here may have had that problem too.I just know though that I cant stand katsu and only use them for a few things. The points always bend on gammies and go dull, and I can go through a whole pack like water somedays. Can ruin a gammy just by sticking a fish in the boney upper jaw.
  5. The ever looming, ominous presence of the monkey is much much too strong in that store.
  6. I have 2 of them but barely used it yet or caught anything.I am assuming this is probably a better clear water bait?? Let me know.
  7. Finally got the right day to catch em today.storm and cold front blowin in in florida.Had a few on a spook, but the cavitron definitely rocked their world caught 20+on it today with one 5.5 and 2 in the 4s.Im a believer for sure. Still need to get the black on black. The one I used today was black with red blade 1/4 oz. The dicks near me only has the red blade ones.Truly strange.Wish their was a way I could influence what these stores carry sometimes.Just like my dicks only carries ribbon tail yum and powerbait in 10 inch?? I don't understand.they could prob sell more stock if they actually bought things that people actually use.But thats a different story. The cavitron is A++ awesome!!
  8. When you cant even wait to get home or on the water to open the new packages up and play with your new toys. My girlfriend yells at me for doing this while driving, tells me to at least wait til I get a red light. Just curious, any one else do this??
  9. Or,when you use a 10.00 card every time you goto dicks.
  10. When you go to the checkout at BPS and have to trouble the girl to subtract half of your total items from the reciept after realizing you didnt bring enough money. Not that this has ever happened to me.
  11. vroooom... right over my head. missed the sarcasm part. But seriously though I like his show and he is a great guy.
  12. x10000 here buddy! Any one here from Florida has surely had an encounter with them. They are like mosquitoes on crack. They can go through your window screens.Insect repellent rarely works, nor does smoking,When you get bit it is second to a small bee sting.Would rather deal with skeeters any day. Any one mention Gators?? I fish a lot of small ponds mostly.Used to do a lot of wading and belly boatin. Not since moving to Florida.Im crazy, but not that crazy. Also have a problem with a lot of the juvenille ones that dont seem shy of boats or people at all.(someone feeding them?) Nothing like casting a topwater in the morning and having some 3 -4 foot lizard chasing your lure back to the boat. Will I ever catch a bass in that area? Hell no! They also see a struggling bass and just come a runnin over right beside the boat.I know I shouldnt feed em but couldnt resist the temtation to let one have a for entertainment.Had one grab a yum frog one day(50 lb braid) and he dragged my 14 foot john boat about 50 feet before I decided to cut the line.Pesky Pesky little bass turds they are!
  13. Bait monkey says"you need one of those blugill lures too". Nice one man. Good luck with it.For the basstrix....I am hoping that the hype dies down soon so I could get some somewhere.I wont pursue it until it does.I remember seeing 40+dollar chatterbaits on ebay. Now loook at it.
  14. oh,and when doesnt Bill catch a lot of fish with something on his show?? Wonder how many days it takes for them to shoot one of those shows? Not trying to knock him,I love his show, but you ever see him catch less than a 5-6 pounder :question
  15. Think there were more threads on this also.I have two different colors of it.It works kinda good.Looks a lot better in the water than it actually is.Have caught a few,but nothing to brag about and I wouldnt go as far to say this lure is just the greatest.I dont see any reason that I couldn't catch any of the same fish with one of my regular cranks though. But ya, it looks real cool, wouldn't say its a total gimmick.I was lucky enough to pick mine up at cost without mark up 2.79.Dont ask cuz I cant get more LOL.
  16. Hes very hard to get off your back if you see something that looks cool, or someone said it was a good product.I try to leave him in the car when I go shopping but the bugger follows me in>So much for the child proof locks.
  17. Had that happen a few times especially If I was tight lining for cats.IMO your line is fine, and I believe It may have something to do with the very small amount of water displacement your line causes. These panfry are attracted to that, maybe thinking insects? or small larvae.Theyre not the the brightest bulbs to say the least.Have even had em smack the hooks on a super spook that is as big as them, kinda funny. They grab split shots and swivels too.
  18. With him that close I may accidentally make a bad pitch with 1oz jig into the side of his pride and joy.Oh,sorry I didnt see you I forgot my glasses today.
  19. wanna learn more about bowfin fishing? www.bowfinanglers.com
  20. Agree with him here. The owner wide gap plus is a huge bonus to me.The fish almost seem to hook themselves on this thing, you dont need to yank lips off to set it.Also when using it,the gap is so wide that many times I can use one size smaller for a lot of baits and it still rigs the same as the larger counterparts.Where a 3/0 is used, can use the 2/0 for example and so on. Dont have much experience with offsets, havent used em since i was a kid catching bream and crappie on a bobber.
  21. Unless it was a bream? :-?
  22. Feel your pain man.I fish a lot of little ponds with my john boat similar to this. Many are tannic or very stained, little or no offshore structure and overhanging branches and cattail beds with 10-20 feat of water behind them.Even trying to plow a jig through that is hard for me since I dont have a foot powered troll motor.Get a little wind going and forget targeting, gotta have one hand on the g---mn motor! If your out on the right days, prime feeding times, overcast conditions, spring spawns etc ypu could catch a lot using soft plastics on the edges and rattle traps, spinners, chatterbait, shallow cranks in bright colors around the middle. When fishing the edges with plastics or jigs you just gotta try to hit the deepest pockets you can.Casting skill comes into play here, and if you do it as much as me you could land a worm with 1/8 weight in a teacup from 20 feet LOL. Ive been fishing in that situation and had 30+fish days, then other times not even a single bite when the buggers are stacked up under all that crap. The other thing I do(requires considerable work at times)is to take a saw, hedge shears, and a pruning pole along and make my own pathways, caves, holes.Gives you more edges to fish and be able to penetrate some places. If Cattails are the problem use a sickle or heavy duty weed wacker and mow em down to stumps. The bass will still be there but now you can throw all kinds of goodies in and about the shortened stalks. Basically if you know the bass are in the water, they can be caught, but you better off to be fishing on the best days when you can catch them roaming around chasing bait and such. Honestly,I too was also going to post this same EXACT question here.If anyone can tell me something I dont know about the conditions we are desribing here.
  23. yes the dt 4 is an awesome shallow bait.recommended. It wont bounce through logs/rogs and such as well as a square bill though.
  24. Bass pro near me(ft. meyers FL) had them,b ut I have yet to see em on BPS web site yet.I guess there is supposed to be another size due to come out, bigger and runs a little deeper. The monkey is calling again.I already have two each of my favorite colors in these.Olive,Silver, chart purp back, firetiger, parrot. But any way, these cranks work pretty sweet as with all the dts and someone who hasnt won the lottery yet can buy them.
