I use Owner Wide Gap Plus 4/0 for fishing Fat Ika's. I use Megastrike to lube them and I work the area where my hook penetrates thru the Ika so that the hook slides thru easier.

The Powell 683cef MH rod is one of the best all around rods. They have excellent sensitivity and are very light weight.

In that price range get a Powell.

I have a DSR822C that I use for finesse fishing. I have also used it to T-Rig 1/8 0z. - 3/8 oz. baby brush hogs, light shallow cranks, spinnerbaits, shakey head, and topwater poppers and propbaits. It's also pretty good for drop shotting lol.

I own a few Loomis rods and they are great, but I would suggest getting a Powell 683cef/703cef rod instead. I have the 683cef just a great rod. At $140 they are the best deal around.
