MUDDY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!! I'd vote for him before the other two!!!! ;D
  3. R.I.P. CMO Charlie Moore Outdoors.... It was nice knowing you.... You can always be a landscaper or sell tackle...
  4. Thanks four bizz... I live in Rhode Island which is at least a year behind the West coast so... ;D I have looked at the larger swimbaits (Spro was one) and originally, couldn't think of a place here to throw a swimbait that large. But I get the idea from you to just throw it!! Fish outside the box I guess... Who knows what lurks near that downed tree. BTW I wouldn't pay the money for Bass$$$$ swimbaits. I did buy a pack of the new Strikeking swimbaits for $7.99 and that was pushing it. As far as paying big bucks for higher end swimbaits...if they catch fish (and they do last a long time) I'm for it. ajr
  5. I should have been more specific... I am speaking of the Basstrix type swimbait, not the larger wood, rubber, or combination swimbaits, although I have a few of those to try as well. ajr
  6. I appreciate your help and suggestions. Please explain why you feel hollow body swimbaits are "stupid" and a waste of time. IMO, you shouldn't throw a bomb out there like that without explaining what you mean. That's how people get upset in a thread. Thanks, Alan (ajr)
  7. Thanks for all the feedback. I was wondering if I was the only one experiencing these conditions. ajr
  8. Hey all... As I expand my "arsenal", I have included swimbaits. I threw a BPS XPS swimbait the other day as more of a test and part of the continuing learning process. On the third cast, a small LMB CRUSHED the swimbait!!! It destroyed the bait. (which I hear is common with this brand bait) I was impressed that a small bass would have no problem hammering a swimbaiit half its size. Most of my reading/study leans towards swimbaits being used for bigger bass (ie. California Delta bass) etc. Anyway, I was impressed an intend on using this "new" bait when/where I can. I was just wondering if the members here could let me know their favorite ways to rig and fish a hollow body and solid body swimbait. I have checked out the articles here at BassResource.com. I am more interested in the rank and file members opinions and experiences. Thanks in advance!!! ajr
  9. Gonna tell your bro Tony?? ajr
  10. Hey... I have been out the last couple of days and here's what I have found: Lots of beds, some with smaller males near them others empty. The fish that are around are VERY skitish and not biting that well. I believe that with that cold front and cold rain, the spawn, such as it is, started over again. I fished the deeper drop offs near the beds hoping the females would be staging there, various baits, plastic and hard, no go. What kind of activity, if any, are the rest of the Northeast guys (and gals) having!!! ajr
  11. OK, Looks like you guys have it covered.
  12. Hey all.. I send this message on behalf of a couple off members looking for the old Fleck Weedwader spinnerbaits. I swear by them but I am also pretty sure they are not made anymore. I get mine mostly from E-bay. The skirts are usually nasty, but I change them and ...good as new. I have a couple I treat like gold, but I'd like a few more. If anyone can direct me to a "source", I'll pass the info. on. Thanks in advance!!! Alan (bassnajr)
  13. Funny you say that Ghostman... I was at Dick's yesterday and they had a big clearence bin.... I went through it...same old stuff...but I saw a Mann's 4- (I guess that means 4 ft. and above according to the package) and it caught my eye.... it looked different. Got it for $2.00. Now I can't wait to try it!!!! ajr
  14. Good job russ, Mike!!!! A picture IS worth 1000 words!!! ajr

Regarding Yak's post... I didn't read the e-mails etc. concerning Muddy so I am a little behind. There was nothing concerning race or bigtory was there?? I never found Muddy to be that way, nor anyone else on this site for that matter. ajr

MATT.... I also had members "busting my hump" for lack of a better way to say it. I am NO expert, but I won't let the bullies on here keep me from asking a "dumb" question or commenting with information to try and help others if I feel I can. It's advice.....they can sort through what they want to use and what not to use. I also say thanks to Glen and the mods for, unfortunatley having to referee some posts. The members stay and continue on, and the troubled people leave. Life, and fishing, go on!!!
  22. The best spinnerbait is the one that WORKS!!! ajr
  23. Hey guys.... Fished our first club tournament this past weekend here in RI and certain areas had water temps. around 63 degrees. Went out today and with the cold front and 2"+ of cold rain this past weekend, I feel the fish got screwed up a bit as far as the spawn goes. What do you all think...they do start from scratch with new beds etc. or will things "right" themselves with further warm weather and water??? I am anxious to here what everyone thinks... ajr
  24. Who's hawking products on here?? I believe that is a violation of the forum rules and should be reported to one of the mods. ajr
