  1. I hope your making me that big jointed hard swimbait .....welcome D3!! ajr
  2. Good question... I learned last summer...PLENTY of water and I actually make a lunch for the day. Two reasons: keeps me feeling balanced all day, and I break it up into like 3-4 breaks. Clear my mind for a few minutes each snack, and think about how I've been fishing, get back to it. ajr And cigars!!
  3. Hey folks.... I know we have some folks coming to LBH's Cast for Kids tournament in April which is great, but I noticed that the Central guys are having there 2nd annual get together tounament. Do the members from the Notheast have a similar tourney? bassnajr
  4. You are correct Mike and I'm still in!! alan
  5. It's all about the Benjamins!!!! But when the audience stops watching..the money dries up. Guess Charlie hasn't learned that. He can always stock shelves at Aubuchon Hardware...(I used to have a TV show, remember me, I was the best! I was the best!! nails??? aisle #3.) I'd like to know how far his ratings have dropped??!! ajr
  6. I wonder why putting natural cover into lakes and ponds in Rhode Island is illegal? I am gonna call today. If it requires a permit, i'll get one ajr PS Matt..if you help lift em' you can know where they are!! (and I know you would help!) ajr
  7. Hey all.. I know we have talked about creating different cover in our local ponds, the rules, laws, etc. but I wanted to run an idea by everyone. What do you think about using pulled stumps as cover? I've heard X-mas trees, man made cover, (pallets etc.), rocks and more. But I was thinking, a pulled stump gives the bass and forage fish pretty much all they need, no? What do you guys think? I realize that size would have to be limited due to the weight, but I'd like to hear ideas. Thanks in advance, bassnajr
  8. Mike, I'd be interested....keep me posted. LBH's tournament is around then...just to remind you. Alan (bassnajr)
  9. Ohhh!!! Yeah, that was when I stopped watching. Adam West, C'mon!!! He couldn't even hold the rod correctly!!!! Stay tuned, next week .....Fred Flintstone!!! ajr
  10. ?????? Maybe fisher is Charlie...cause I can't understand him either... :-?
  11. Matt, I thought he would have posted first...but the poor guy has told the story so many times....it's folk lore here in Rhode Island, but certainly would give a "view" into the conglomerate that is CMO!!! ajr
  12. Although I do have a table that has one leg shorter than the rest????
  13. Hey all, In following with the poll poted regarding Charlie Moore's new book, I would like to hear from folks NEAR and far with any real Charlie Moore stories.. LET EM' RIP!!!!!! bassnajr
  14. I will not be buying the book. I am from Rhode Island and watched all of Charlie's shows. Lately, he seems "too big for his britches." Making fun of people, acting like a fishing "God" etc. I don't need to hear anyone telling me how great they are. If you have to do that, you probably aren't. Sad prediction (or not) he won't be on much longer...everyone I talk to, even die hard fans, feel the same. I even got a call back (out of 60,000 applicants) for Beat Charlie Moore on ESPN. I guess because I am so nearby. The producers asked where I fished in RI etc. and said they would get back to me in the spring.....I think I have better things to do this spring... : bassnajr
  15. PS For you golfers or former golfers: A jig setup is like a lob wedge, a pain to learn to use, but boy when you learn how to use it WOW!!!
  16. It is not embarrassing!! If we all knew everything, we wouldn't be on here. I have baits that I have confidence in, spinnerbaits, shallow cranks, jerkbaits. Then I have the ones I am intimidated by, jigs being one of them. Do what I am doing..read up on techniques, watch videos, and then go fish!! The more you practice, the more in your comfort zone you will be. I don't ever plan on being a world class jigga!!! As long as I know if I have to, I can use the bait. IMO Hope this helps, Alan (bassnajr)
  17. WB.. I REALLY hope that these guys are the exception to the rule. That is the oppisite of why I joined a club, and want to fish some tournaments. And as far as "ratting" the guy out.... he should follow the rules, tradtions or not, and treat people like people. If I were you, I would tell this story to anyone who might end up in the back of this jerk's boat. Maybe the reason he is like this is that no one calls him on his behavior!! (OK, I am done venting!!) ;D bassnajr
  18. I weep for the future. ajr
  19. Thanks Catt... Great article!! ajr
  20. Catt, Where did you hear this? I can't find it anywhere on the internet. I would think at least ESPN would have a story on the Elite website?? ajr
  21. I don't find anything about this on the ESPN Bassmaster website. Anyone have a link? bassnajr
  22. I respectfully disagree Brett... You forgot a spinner bait, slow rolled, with a dark trailer, and Colorado blades. What do you think? ajr
  23. Congrats brother New Englander!! I got my first today too only 1.75lb. It was cold!! 25 mph wind 40 degree water off the shore. Im pysched!!! bassnajr
  24. Thanks guys! This is the earliest I have caught one...not even trout season here yet!! Don't worry brat, your's is on the way! I think the season is here... Can I get an Amen!!?? ajr
