  1. Hey all... I have a feeling that bass season is about to begin here in the Northeast....55 degrees TWO days this week. Get ready guys down South...the hibernation is over!!! (I hope I didn't curse things!!!) bassnajr
  2. Goose poop, baby poop, with a little,...well poop poop mixed in!! ;D ajr
  3. I don't mean this in a negative way, but it seems like those "friends" are trying to make it to the Elite Series. Here I go with golf again.... You can learn alot about someone playing golf with them. Same with fishing. Competive nature aside, what someone shows you "raw" on the course or the lake is a good window into what they are REALLY like. I can't wait to fish this year. Not for the tournaments, but more for fishing with new people, learning, and having fun. If any of the guys I know, and that are am STARTING to know got put in a great position (Elite series???lol) I know we'd be behind each other...and not with a knife in the back, front or back of the boat. Goood luck, ajr
  4. I was there Wed. night and the good news is....they were re-stocking the entire fishing section for the big sale. There were carts all over the place. I am going Sunday for a seminar at 1:30pm. I am also going up on 3/6 for the reel trade in program. If anyones going Sunday or on the 6th, maybe I'll see you there. Peace!! ajr
  5. This is a great question... I think it depends on the relationship between the "boater" and "non-boater". I like the front of the boat but feel at home in the back as well. If I see any area I want to hit and my buddy is on the TM, he heads over, no big deal and vice versa. I think this is becasue we co-own the boat and take turns being up front. I feel this makes us more versatile fisherman. Confidence is the same in the front or back of the boat. bassnajr
  6. Hey all, I discovered Power Pro braid this year and have not tried any other brands. I would like folks here to give their opinions (pros and cons of each brand) on the different braid they have used and rate them, if you can. Thanks, ajr
  7. They are great boxes, however, the BPS double sided boxes are a better value and hold more gear. They come in small and large. I just got done re-arranging my gear. Two Falcon boxes fit in one side of aBPS DS box, (approx.) The BPS boxes are $9.99 each, and the BPS 370 or 3700 (check the add) are on sale during the Spring Classic Sale (5 for $10.00). Hope this helps! bassnajr
  8. I heard they are using the Mystical Polo Pond, (herein refered to as the M.P.P.) for a zoo research project starting March 1, 2008. Several of the semi-aquatic bi-valve zoo residents will be released into the now CLEAN MPP and the study will begin!!! It will, in fact, be OOB for the rest of the year!!.....(I wonder if anyone believes me??...did I say that out loud?? ajr
  9. Now Brooke...yes!!!! I would even trade Tin for Gerald Swindle if Brooke was the Spokes Hogan!!
  10. Hey all... I was at BPS Foxboro MA last night looking for an inexpensive baitcaster. I explained to the clerk what I was looking for and after the reel clerk jerked me around for 15 minutes, he finally showed me the Bionic Plus reel, which comes in left handed. He "forgot" it was on special for $39.99 down from $59.99. It's not a "top-line" reel, but quite nice for $39.99 and comes in LH, which I know a lot of members are looking for. Don't know if your local BPS is offering the same deal (or the website), but I thought I'd just pass along the info. to others like me not ready (Yet!!) for the $200-$300 reels. Hope it helps someone. bassnajr
  11. Look left...why is Hulk Hogan involved with FLW Fantasy Fishing??? The cast of the Golden Girls not available??? :-? bassnajr
  12. MattFly... I agree to some extent. Bass fishing IS the next Nascar IMHO..no doubt about it. Between B.A.S.S. and F.L.W. (Who have a $1,000,000 prize for the Forrest Wood Cup) this sport is already a multi-million dollar entity. I wonder if the Classic was on at a different time of the year (not facing pre-March Madness B-ball etc.) would there have been a difference in coverage? Would warmer weather have made a difference? Did B.A.S.S. put the cameras in the wrong boats hedgeing towards all the "top" guys? There's a million questions we could ask. I just hope they plan better for next year. bassnajr
  13. Matt, Don't think ESPN isn't making millions off of the Elite series etc. If they can give good coverage to The World Series of Poker, I don't see why they can't do a better job then they did. That having been said, I agree with you that at least they covered it. And I give them props for tackling the logistical nightmare that must be involved with The Classic. ajr
  14. Hey all... I followed the Classic on-line and on TV (Late night??? Come on!!!) and I wanted to give my opinion and get yours. I personally feel they did a crappy job. I guess the Classic hasn't risen to the level of interest of enough people. I love mark Zona, but he has his own show. Too much of him Tommy Sanders, and guys who didn't qualify, or didn't make the cut. Not enough fishing...too much talking...IMHO. PS The folks from right here on our website gave us better photos and video!!!! GOOD JOB.....AGAIN!!!! I hope ESPN does a better job next year! bassnajr
  15. I would like to thank all the BassResource folk, you know who you are!!! who gave us photos, videos and much more from the classic. it made a snowbound dude like me feel like spring might just be a little closer. seeing all the fun you had, I'd like to go next year. PS IMO you did a better bob then ESPN!!!! Alan (bassnajr)
  16. Got it...thanks!!
  17. PS Why no blog yet? Am I on the wrong page? ajr
  18. Again, Brief blips about IKE...the guy comes into the top ten, then later into the top three without hardly a mention. He is not liked!!! Even Zona when pressed wouldn't say if he liked him??? Gotta love the bad boy!!! My prediction...watch for one of the guys who can handle pressure to win. Charlie looks like a great guy but I agree with Matt..that lost lunker WILL hurt. Alton Jones should win, but..... Watch for KVD, Ike,Kreit, Evers, and the long shot is, (Sorry Tin!) Skeet Reese. IMVHO of course!!! bassnajr
  19. Saturday morning.... Not to crazy about the coverage on ESPN2..what do you guys think? Going back and forth between the DVR and ESPN.com ..... Still going crazy...7" of snow..another kick in the jewels!! ajr
  20. Preach....grab me some stuff please!!!! ;D ;D
  21. I'm gonna say it!!!! Love him or hate him Iaconelli is great for bass fishing!!!! I know alot of people here can't stand him, but fishing wise and marketing wise (this is a business remember!!) the guy is the FANtastic!!! If he wins, this site will give out a collective MOAN!!! And the next day, secretly, alot of folks will be buying all his sponsors gear!!! BRILLIANT!!! IMO :) AJR
  22. TBG thanks for the link....nothing better than this blog...lots of guessing no photos/short videos etc. KILLING ME!!!! ESPN has basketball blah, blah!! C'mon!!!!! ajr
  23. STUPID QUESTION ALERT!!!!! Why are they not televising all the days of the classic??? ajr :-?
