O.K. guys....... Can you elaborate a bit? I appreciate the information, just wondering what the big difference is. The Real Magic was cheap enough where I can use it as an all around lubricant...not worried. I just felt that the K.V.D.L+L was a "name" thing. If I'm wrong...I'm wrong!! Hey all.... I have been exploring flourocarbon and hybrid lines and was refered by several members to K.V.D Line and Lure conditioner and Real Magic to help mantain the "useability" of the line and prevent wind knots and backlashes. The price of K.V.D. L+L put me off so I went with Real Magic. First test last night went well. It smells like WD40 to me. What is the major component of both? Anyone with any thought or opinions? Hey all... Well I didn't return the King Shad as many had suggested. I did change the treble hooks. Not much action with it until I used it last night, almost as a top water bait. Slow retreive (it doesn't go that deep anyway) start and stop, two casts, two nice 2lb. bass. Fished it for about 1/2 an hour and that was it. I'll keep it in the arsenal, but I think I'll stick with the Shadolicious for now. ajr

I have been using the "through the gills" de-hooking method for several weeks. GREAT!!! No dead fish no hurt fish. Once you get past thinking you are going to kill the fish by going through the gills it's all good!! I also switched to the Octopus-circle hooks....made a big difference in fewer gut hooks. Alan

Hey, I have been in law enforcement for 25 years and unfortunately, see this every day. Some people will steal anything that is not locked down. A kids set-up...stolen for another child. How could anyone give their child a stolen fishing rod to fish with? This gives you a little more insight into the kind of scum you are dealing with. If you have a marina orginization, that's your best bet. People looking out for people works best. Good luck. ajr

Do you catch fish on an Ugly Stick? Are you happy with them? If so, you have your answer. I recently went over to all Daiwa rods and reels. I like them for the price, durability, and ease of use. There may be a difference between a Daiwa Procyon and a G. Loomis Mossyback..... I'll let you know if I ever have the extra $200.00 to spend on a fishing rod. I have a wife and three children. Don't wanna preach, but I have to "fish within my means". I find Daiwa to be within that reasonable limit. IMO P.S. There is a reason Ugly has been around so long!! Good luck!! ajr
