  1. No mountains or molehills... The guy looks like Howdy Doody and tells everyone he's an Adonis and he catches 1 pound fish and says "Look at this pig!!!" He was funny and should have stayed that way. Bet he's off the air in a year. ajr
  2. Forget about the challenge... He's changed alot. He's all about MONEY and he insults the viewers telling them how they wish they were him and how they all suck at fishing. The guy should look in a mirror!!! That's why I don't watch anymore. ajr
  3. I just bought a 21' Procraft DC 205 with my buddy. I used to play golf....talk about spending money. Bass fishing is all I do now. So, no, I will not be detered by the cost of fuel. It is the one sport or hobby that I have left out of them all I used to do before I got hurt in a car accident. That having been said, there is absolutley no reason why gas should be $3.50 a gallon in this country. We have men and women dying in the Middle East to "free" these countires and introduced democracy. We spend BILLIONS re-building what we blew up, and we still pay outrageous gas prices. This is how our country is rewarded by these animals!! > It's BULL CRAP!!!!! OK, I vented!! ajr
  4. Dirty....I know where that is!!!!
  5. I was out on a pond on the Mass. RI border yesterday. Water temperature was around 60 degreesall around the lake. ajr
  6. So it seems we agree... With warm weather, we're around 1 or two weeks. ajr
  7. Hey all... Went out two days ago to my local pond. I found that the males seem to be up fairly shallow, grouping together, "boliling" the top. They we fairly easy to catch on pretty much any lure. I'm figuring that it's pre-spawn, maybe 1 or 2 weeks before they begin. Anyone else have any "signs", ideas, comments??? ajr
  8. Congratulations on that PORKER Matt!!!! You deserve it!!!! ajr
  9. Ican send you photos from the "owner"if you want.

  13. Hmmmm...... Good point LBH..... A picture is worth a thousand words...take photos of your live fish prior to release to use as an avatar...just a suggestion....I had a fish die last year and I felt bad about it for a while. Guess others feel the same way here. It's in the passion!!!! ajr
  14. Casts a mile, you are right!!! Farther than any other spinning reel I have owned??? ajr
  15. Thanks Wayne... I am looking at a 1999 Javelin Renegade 198 with a 150 Johnson motor and tandem trailer. Here's a blip from the dealer: USED 1999 JAVELIN RENEGADE VERY CLEAN IN AND OUT. TANDEM AXLE TRAILER WITH BRAKES. CUSTOM COVER WITH OUTBOARD COVER. BOAT COMES WITH 2 FISHING CHAIRS AND BIKE SEAT WITH PEDASTAL SEAT, MIDDLE SEAT NOT INSTALLED BUT DOES COME WITH THE BOAT AND ALSO HAS AN EXTRA SET OF SEAT SKINS FOR THE DRIVERS SEAT. Any information on the 198 anyone??? ajr
  16. Hi all..... Anyone have any information on javelin bass boats? I know that they are no longer made, were made at the end of production by Stratos, and that you can get service and parts through Stratos. That's it..... Anyone with information, especically if you own one, let me know what you think, good or bad. Thanks, ajr
  17. These are great guys....keep 'em coming!!!! ajr
  18. Hey all... It's been a little tense on the boards here lately with everyone gearing up for, or starting their season, so I figured I'd throw out a fun thread. I am sure it's been posted in some form or another before, if so, here it is again: You may be addicted to bass fishing if??? Here's mine to get it started. You drive by a body of water (it could be a puddle, doesn't matter) and go over in your mind "Here's how I'd fish that!!" Cranking there, plastics there, OH!!! and a frog way back there!!!!! Then your wife yells at you and tells you to "Watch the road!!!!" : bassnajr
  19. I fish from shore like many guys....when I don't feel like getting the boat loaded up, or like Zach when things are hectic around the house, I tell the wife and THREE daughters, "I am going to wet a lure." I throw a rod in the truck, grab my small "emergency" tackle box, and head to my local "piece of heaven". PS Zach, If you caught that wearing a suit, I am renting a tux for next weekend!!!!
  20. I swam with the largemouth once..... I got my mask and snorkel, dove under.....but then I got scared!!! They are much bigger under water!!!!! Plus they ate my peanut butter and jelly sandwich!!!! ajr >
  21. You are correct Sir!!! Thanks for getting us back on track Madhouse!!! I agree, front or rear drag it's a heck of a reel for the price!! ajr
  22. Hey all... I just watched the re-cap of the Classic for 2008 (for the third time) and one thing continues to amaze me...how calm and collected Alton Jones was throughout the three days. Not just the first day, but all three days. He even takes the time after every fish catch to explain to the viewers whats going on, how his fishing, etc. To be able to rise to a place where you are that in control of yourself must be an amazing gift!! He may not be the flashiest, loudest, or have blond dyed tips in his hair, but I sure wouldn't mind fishing with him for a day, and letting a little of that peace and patience rub off on me!!! Congratulations again to Alton Jones, Bassmaster Classic Champ 2008!!! bassnajr
  23. That camo stuff sounds like Doug Hannon. Isn't he a proponent of mute colors and camoed boats?? ajr
  24. Mono is still the all around go to line. That having been said, once you try braid, in my case Power Pro, you won't go back. The sensitivity is astounding. Downfall...$$$$$ it is very expensive!!! JMO bassnajr
  25. Who deleted a post D3 ???? I have never seen that done here unless there was profanity etc. If that happened it's not right, and needs to be addressed!!! ajr PS I'll check with LBH
