Most Versatile Jig
A brush jig head style can swim, flip, cast/drag and handles stand up needs as well. The quality of the HOOK, the brush guard, the skirt and the paint durability is where only a FEW stand HEADS above the rest. IMO, Siebert jigs have that quality... And NO they're not my sponsor, but I definitely BUY their Jigs

Swim Jig Trailers
I don't think that there is a Wrong first choice of swim jig trailers, as long as you don't get stuck on ONE style, especially if you're NOT getting Bit. I choose the Rage Menace when the water and sky is relatively clear and/or low wind conditions, especially when I'm sure that the fish are targeting Baitfish. Shellcracker when they want a short compact profile with bulk and brim are main targets. Craw or Lobster when they want a Craw fish dinner and The Eeliminator or Cut R worm when a longer swim profile is necessary. Since swim jigs will draw strikes that many spinnerbaits and/or shallow cranks will, color variations also become extremely important, so I think that allowing the fish to show their preference is important. Being open minded with variety until they've had a chance to show thier preferences seems to work best for me. I'll always start with lighter/natural colors and tweak them to find the best color bite pattern.

Tug Of War!
Finally got some warm weather and thought I'd take advantage of it. Had 60 degree water so they're still pre spawn here, Caught several quality fish on the edges of the spawning areas pitching the Smokin Rooster to trees in 9ft water... Then this PLUMP Gal Plowed it, TUG of WAR time She should be on the bed anytime now! I'm Headed to the Classic and if any of you are able to make it, look me up at the Strike King booth

How To Work A Rage Craw
Any med hvy to hvy action rod should work Fine and the Moaner weighted Hook was designed specifically for Rage Rigging giving the bait a more horizontal fall as well as slide through the grass easily. Hope that helps!

I Named Her Sunshine!
Not trying to kick ya boostr consider it a little FIX until you get some soft water and can chase'em yourself I had the opportunity to be a Coach during a 2 day Tournament this past wknd (Couldn't Fish, just advise) and my angler took 2nd overall on a lake that he nor I had never fished, with all of the other anglers being familiar with the lake... We got lucky early, and found the bait and color that the fish wanted MOST. Although he threw spinnerbaits, Cranks and jerks etc in addition to, he caught every fish on two different RT's in two different contrasting colors, depending to the water and daylight conditions I had a blast! Hope yall get a break in the cold a bit earlier than usual and can get back out there!

I Named Her Sunshine!
Yep, they haven't built any new lakes in my area so I'm fishin the same old ones. Fork, Falcon, Choke, Ivy, RayRoberts, and Amistad are my favorite waters. I wish we had more big bass lakes but those are the ones I fish most often.

I Named Her Sunshine!
A cold front had them lethargic until the sun showed, then it was hold on to your shorts time. This SWEET Babe plowed a flipped Smokin Rooster in 8 foot trees on the drop. My hands were cold before she bit, then they warmed up quickly. After her Glamour shot she was released on the spot.

Thanks Mike - Delaware Valley Tackle!
LOL, I just bought 3 more used Curados and sending them to Mike for gear upgrades and ck out prior to getting them in the mix... Figured he may find something that needs attention while I'm BRUISING the ones he just finished tuning... It's nice to have a "one man pit crew" to help keep me in the Game

Thanks Mike - Delaware Valley Tackle!

Thanks Mike - Delaware Valley Tackle!
After 50 yrs of rebuilding my own reeIs, I finally decided to send about 10 of my fav's to a REEL PRO and Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle did a terrific job I only use the old Curados as they hold up to my style of ABUSE with winching on 65lb braid and 25lb fluoro minimums. It was amazing how much better these were when I got them back and another THANKS to Mike... REEL PRO

Favorite Jig Trailers?
"With the Menace or twin tail grub trailer for a swim jig, do you rig it parallel with the hook or perpendicular like you would with a craw?" The fish will tell you if you let them... When they're feeding heavily on bait fish (brim/shad etc) perpendicular gets bit more and when their foraging more on crayfish, of course parallel. "I read when using single tail grub tail down." Yes rig it tail down so that during the retrieve, the tail rises up directly behind the hook. "need some help. Thanks" Hope that helps... BTW, my most often used trailer is a Lobster but will change to any one of my others as needed. On deep ledges, I'll often use a Thumper, Anaconda or ReCon Worm as a trailer.

Rage Crab For Flippin Big Reds Too!
You're right cdaffin on all points and they'll eat just about anything when they're in the right mood... but I think if we feed them something that they are actively seeking at that time, it sometimes gives us a real edge

Rage Crab For Flippin Big Reds Too!
Not sure that this is where to place this post, but in the show we describe the use and techniques to create Rage Crab Flippin Magic Flippin Fla Mangroves for Big REDS... Yep FLIPPIN Reds, The NEW Deal and I felt like Columbus did when he discovered America At first, we were casting the Rage Crabs to oyster beds in hopes that a scouring red might pick it up. When we hung the jig in the shells, we would have to pull up and pop it loose Nearing the Mangroves I would pitch the bait in them and get BLASTED... This became the NORM and a NEW show was BORN. I promise, I went FLIPPIN CRAZY and for all of us FLIPPIN' CRAZY Bass Fishermen... This IS the REAL NEW DEAL and the waters are Fertile and waiting for us to Rip and Snort.... WOOOOOOP Hope you learn a little bit and have fun watching! Gypsy Angler Ray Van Horn and I WRECK Big Reds Flippin' Mangroves in the Everglades on The Sportsman Channel. Air Time: Saturday 9:30am, Monday 1:30pm & Friday 7:30am EST.. http://youtu.be/TXFeBRcRJTA

I Was Cold And Uncomfortable Until...
It's COLD and WET for most of the Country and we've had our share of inclement weather here in Texas. But Big Babes still gotta EAT so I bundled up and HOOKED up on this DARLING flippin a RAGE Shellcracker. The fish were holding in timber that was in middle of the creek channels. Yep, I had my Flip-Flops on but long pants were necessary Hope everyone is doing OK and Merry Christmas to YOU and your FAMILIES!

Jig Trailers
Rage Craw is 3.875" and the Lobsta' is 4.25". Lobster has more mass/bulk in the body, arms and claws. I'm partial to ONE certain brand of jig trailer options, and they have several... But I'll hold my opinion since it might be considered biased by some
