I am a big fan of music. Not specifically any band or genre, just a fan of good music. I like anything from metallica to beastie boys to hank williams sr. Right now im listening to rockin chair money by hank williams sr. What are you guys listening to these days?

the water is deff a green staind, not brown.

I am a big favorite of Pumpkin seed and more of a green color when it comes to my plastics. I am not one to believe that I will get bit on a pink senko thrown in the same spot and worked the same way as a blue senko that did not get a strike. I think it is all about presentation. HOWEVER, does color come into effect as far as visibility go? Im fishing in my lake but the water is becoming a little more staind than usual. Will me throwing my pumpkin seed senko be hard for a bass to spot? Would i be better off throwing a brighter color? I feel like if i chunk out a green color it will not be visible unless i drop it right on her nose because it is the same color as the water.....

Yeah usually every other sunday we hook up with a Guadalupe or 2 and then sometimes we get what you called an interesting fish. I know Whitney has some good smallmouth but never thought Grapevine would. Never caught one before but he sure felt bigger than what he was. When i got him near the boat he went straight down and put up a decent fight.

Great day of fishing. I took vacation from work and it paid off! Got my largest bass with a soft plastic so far. I have never been confident with plastics but i feel alot more after today. Felt the tap tap reel down and swung for the fences and came up with this chubby girl. My father in law and i both caught a smallmouth which according to texas parks and wildlife do not exist in the lake we fish. the one my father in law caught is a decent size too!! All in all a great day with 20 plus fish.

Those are some beautiful fish! Great color and they look really healthy.

She must be a small woman cause that fish looks about 30 lbs compared to her!!

I got up early this morning with my daughter and went to Academy to re stock some lures. I ended up walking out with 5 Strike king Sexy shad crankbaits, 3 strike king lipless crankbaits in bleeding shad and 4 H20 spinnerbaits which i prefer over every brand except strike king. All in all i spent 28$ cause alot of them were marked down from 6 to 2.99$. Felt like i did pretty good. Anyways, when i get home i open up one of the sexy shad and im sitting there mimicking the under water motion and my son is next to me and he has his fire truck that he is driving around in the living room. I look over at him, he is so deep in thought while he is playing. And I realized, about 4 seconds ago that was me with my sexy shad !!!

Its 96 today so not much "fall weather" yet. It has deff cooled down from 112 and has averaged about 88 for the past 2 weeks and the lows dipping down to about 70. I think my weakness is finding structure under water. I generally stay around the shoreline or about 100 feet off and throw at timber or structure like boat houses or docks etc. I feel like i can catch them there rather than stray off, its a mental thing i guess. I just need to stick to it for a whole day and try something different cause i know they will flee to deeper water soon...

Sorry guys, i was not asking because i wanted to purchase from bps or cabelas. I was asking because i thought it was odd that one of the best selling reels was not for sale on there website. Thanks for the suggestion. I have bought from TW before too

This year I have been catching everything off mainly 2 lures. Spinnerbaits and lipless cranks. Some days i dont even think I threw anything except one or the other. I felt like i didnt need to because i was catching consistently all day reguardless of where i was on the lake. I feel this has handicapped me now that it is later on in the year. My last 2 outings i was almost completely unsuccesful with cranks and spinnerbaits. I decided to try a couple of plastics like a senko, rigged a couple of different ways along with a few different plastics. I was throwing around some boat houses and some docks and had 0 success. I feel like I was not going slow enough so i slowed down. Went from 5 second pauses to 10. Still nothing. What do yall suggest i try?

Any particular reason i cant find a Citica on Cabelas or Basspro's website?

This is what i drive if my work truck is in the shop. They are pretty cool and you would be amazed what you can fit back there when you have too...

having some problems with my Sedona which gives me an excuse to buy another reel . I have used my father in laws mitchell 300 and I am in love with it. 8 ball bearings and it is smooooooooooth. Feels perfect to me. I am staying around the 50$ range so the pflueger president is also a maybe. I have never fished a pres but i hear nothing but good things. I guess im not so much asking which to buy or what else is out there. More of who uses these reels and what are some pros and cons about each, if you have any at all. Right now im leaning towards the mitchell....

Hit a pond sunday evening with a buddy. Tall brush all the way around and about 6 feet of slop to stand behind and cast over into the pond. After an hour we had hooked up with 6. most were right by the edge of the slop. Now i know why people use H action rods to drop lures into that junk cause i didnt think i was gonna be able to pull em out of all of it. We get ready to leave and i feel a tickle. Thinking its a usual itch or a fly i disreguard. Acouple minutes later i feel it again and look down to see a tick sucking me to death. I screamed like a woman and pulled it off. I was halfway home in my car and feel somethin on the back of my neck. Thinking its my consience i give a quick feel and nothing. I feel it again and do a full sweep of my neck and shoulders. Bam!!!! Another one. Luckily it wasnt attached yet. I get home terrified and have my wife give me the FULL lookover and im good to go. Wshed my clothes 2 times and the bag i had my tackle in as well. After a great deal of research i learned it was not the infamous deer tick that carries lyme disease, just a dog tick. Scary nonetheless...I will find a new pond though. I think i caught the same fish twice in a row cause they were identical in size...

Hey guys, Im having a bit of a problem with my Sedona 2500. I have had it for a while now and have just got back into fishing every weekend. It was doing great until I took it apart like i knew what i was doing. I finally got it all back together and went out sunday morning. Tied on a 1/4 oz spinnerbait and chunked it out. When i started reeling in it felt like i was reeling in a house. Very very uncomfortable and hard to reel in. Can this be caused by lack of lubrication? I know if its not oiled up properly it can be rought but will it cause it to feel like im reeling in a 5 lber when its just the lure? Also, when i got the spool off there was a thin, almost square looking piece inside of it. Any idea what im talking about? and if so, would that cause any problems if its not in there correctly???

well, i took apart my reel to clean it up. Got it all put back together except for the bail and spool. the spring in the bail popped out and so did the little black piece in the spring. after 20 minutes and telling my wife she wouldnt find it before me. She found it. I cant seem to get it back in there the correct way. how does the spring fit in there?

For fifty bucks the Allstar classic graphite rods at academy IMO are unbeatable. I have a 7 MH and a 66 M. I love them and have landed plenty of fish with no complaints. I landed a few big cats with the 6'6" M spinning rod and it did surprisingly well. On topic, i handled a mh Voltaeus and it felt exactly like previously mentioned, an Ugly Stick with a Shimano label. Very rubbery and heavy. I did not expect much from it. Just my 02 cents

I am looking for something to fit most of my tackle in that is easier to carry than 1 large plano tackle box and 1 mini version for terminal. I know i want something that can be carried hands free if need be. I plan on getting plastic storage containers and then putting the containers in the bag for more organization. What bag or backpack do you guys use or recommend?

Went fishin with some buddies and after a couple hours of no bass bites i grabbed some chicken livers and a spare zebco 808 and hooked up on 8 channel cats within an hour and a half. After the 8th fish the reel is acting a little funny like the gears are burned out but im not exactly sure. I was curious what you guys use for catchin cats. None were more than 7 lbs so i dont think i need a 10' saltwater rod like a few have suggested. I just want something affordable and reliable, not trying to catch trophy cats. This is just for fun. What line do you suggest also. Thanks guys!

I try and focus on the feel of the rod and my line so any noise other than subtle noises are disrupting for me. I will listen to music while catfishing though. Even then i dont like it loud and heavy, and i can listen to metallica and pantera all day long. Just not while fishing. Some country is good.....and Miller High Life.
