That was the first reel i bought when i started bass fishing. It never gave me any problems except it was a bit on the heavy side. IMO, the Shimano Sahara is a far better reel than the Spirex for the same price. Go with the Sahara you will be much happier.

I agree, before you buy it handle it a little bit and make sure it feels comfortable to you. I am not saying this personally but i have heard more than a few of our members talk about problems with the guide inserts. Im not trying to tell you not to buy the rod im just letting you know. The good thing is if something like that does happen, St Croix Premiers have 5 year warranties i believe.

I havent had gator tail in a few years, the last time i had it was when i went to razoos Cajun restaurant but i havent forgot how good they taste .

Try not to rub any of that JJ's magic on it or no one else will volunteer .

Thanks for more in depth jig fishing Brian, i know i asked for a little guidance the other day but this cleared up every question i had swimming around in my head. One of the bests posts i have read on this forum.

I throw a Shimano Compre 7' medium power xf action.

IMO your best bet would be a 7 ft medium power fast action rod. I throw senkos, tubes, shaky heads, weightless plastics and i plan to throw smaller jigs with it. I just bought a Shimano Compre 7' m/f and i am very happy with it. But for a price range of 300$ you have almost unlimited options. If i was you i would get to a Basspro or Cabelas or any tackle shop that carries rods and get your hands on some and see what you like, Good luck.

Theres alot of flooded timber in certain areas and alot of rocky areas too, the water clarity is stained. I fish deep and shallow.

I have never had much of an interest in jigs until recently. I need a little help picking out some good jigs so i can get the hang of it. I would like to pick up a few of each type but im not sure which to buy. Any suggestions?

I had 2 alpine type e 12' subs, a 400 W alpine amp and a flip screen alpine deck. I just sold it all in a garage sale because i bought a new single cab truck and didnt think i would have room. I wish i had of kept them i could of got a new box built and had them installed......I really really miss them. Car toys is running a sale here for two diamond 10's and a 400 watt amp installed for 750$, im thinking about getting them.

Mrs.Matstone that is pretty darn cool. Its amazing what you can find just looking through old things. My dad had 2 tickets to a Texas Ranger game when Nolan Ryan was still playing but didnt get to go because he had to do a show out of town that day. Those tickets just happened to be tickets to the last no hitter Nolan Ryan ever threw. My mom was cleaning one day and threw them in the trash . I think it was right around the time they got divorced. He also was on tour for 4 or 5 years with a woman named Janie Fricke in the 80's, im not sure if any of you have heard of here though. He's played the Grand Ole Opry as well.

He deserved what he got.He has talent that most don't have and a promising career in football with lots of cashola $$$. Instead he would rather goof off and do things he knows he shouldn't be doing.

I dont even want to think about where i would be without BR. I came with zero knowledge about bassing and i like to think i know alot now. Thanks Glenn and mods .
