Spider Wire Invisible Brand Problems
Hey Big O, is the other major brand that you're referring to PowerPro? I saw a post somewhere else where you were discouraging its use. I haven't had any problems with it so far, but I was just wondering.

Son's first fishing trip
Yesterday was my son's first fishing trip. We went out to the lease in East Texas, where the land owner was holding a family BBQ and fishing tournament. During the BBQ, I tried to get my son to catch his first fish. He's only 16 months, so he can't cast yet but he can turn the handle on his reel. I put a bit of bread on a brim hook under a bobber, made a few casts, and let him reel it in. He did get a hit that took his bobber under for a bit, but didn't get a hook in the fish. I don't think he noticed, though, he was looking at his reel while turning the handle. We'll keep practicing at home and I'm sure he'll catch his first fish next time. I did win the tournament. It was only a $5 pay-in to fish, winner take all. There were 13 anglers, so I won $65. This was the first time I've fished in any type of competition, so for now I can say I've won every tournament I've ever fished, lol. I hope to fish some real tournaments soon. I caught all of my fish on a jig w/ a ragetail lobster. Thanks for the win Big O!!! It wasn't even close. I could have stopped after the first hour and I still would have won. I'm gonna put the money in my 'boat fund', which my wife started for me last year.

Can't believe I'm saying this but...
I think it has potential...This is from the same people that brought us the best frog lure ever invented. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_98850_100005003_100000000_100005000_100-5-3

LOBSTERS!
I was using a half ounce booyah boo jig with a green pumpkin head and a pumpkin/brown/black skirt. I also used a half ounce StrikeKing premier promodel jig with similar colors. The booyah jig comes through brush a little easier. The lobster color was 'dirty craw'

rage spacemonkey
I like the spacemonkey weightless, on a t-rig, and on a c-rig. But most of all I like it on a jig. You can't fish it wrong, its a great bait. Speaking of jigs, have you tried the Lobster?

JIG FISHIN!
I always have a jig tied on these days. As Benobreath said, the best time to fish a jig is anytime you are on the water. On my last trip I started using RageTail Lobsters as a trailer and the results were freakin awesome. I highly recommend putting a RT Lobster on your jig. The action is irresistible.

LOBSTERS!
Thats funny, first thing I thought when I looked at the picture when I got home was "I wonder what people are gonna ask about the gun" There's a few alligator snapping turtles and water moccasins in this lake (its a private lake/pond in east texas) and the owner has asked us to try to control their numbers a bit. Besides, this is private property in Texas...so I'm expected to shoot at trespassers. lol, jk

LOBSTERS!
Well the other day I picked up a pack of Rage Tail Lobsters to try them out. Yesterday I was out on the water, so I put a lobster on my favorite jig and pitched it to the edge of a grass line. As soon as my jig hit the water it looked like it was falling sideways. A fish was just swimming off with it, I set the hook on a nice 3 pounder. First pitch and it didn't even make it to the bottom, good sign I thought. I let the fish go and pitched right back at the same grass line, just a few feet to the right. This time it made it to the bottom, I hopped it once and then BAM! I set the hook on a 2 pounder! What a first impression! Two pitches, two fish, barely even did anything on my part. I continued catching fish on it all day, along grass lines and in laydowns/brushpiles. I was surprised at how much it slowed down the fall of my jig, but even more surprised at how many fish I caught. Although I didn't get any really big fish yesterday, I caught at least 20 fish around 2 to 3 pounds. I know I'm going to catch some monsters with my jig/lobster combo. If you guys haven't tried a lobster jig, you're missing out. I just had to share. (sorry for the shameless product plug, I'm not affiliated with Rage Tail)

From the pictures and descriptions I've found of fish native to Texas, it seems to be a warmouth. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/species/war/

Spro Frog
We stocked this little lake/pond with a type of hybrid sunfish year before last. He may be one of those, but I'm not sure. They looked quite plain as fry so I don't know. This pond/lake is fed by a natural spring, and doesn't have any connection to another body of water. There was already some type of sunfish in there, though, so who knows.

Spro Frog
I had an unexpected attack on my bronzeye frog yesterday, I'm not sure if he wanted to eat it or make love to it. This guy sure had me laughing. (he was released unharmed) Also caught some kind of bluegill/sunfish thing on my jig-n-hog. There's no way he could have fit the entire thing in his mouth. I don't know what he was thinking unless he was just trying to defend himself. Oh, and I caught some bass yesterday too...

Hooray for the JIG!
It was bluebird skies and bright sunshine in east Texas yesterday, so lots of big girls were tight to cover. I spent most of the day pitching a jig to laydowns and stumps. I caught a lot of bass in the 3 to 5 pound range with a couple just over 5 pounds. Several times throughout the day I would pull a nice bass out of a tight spot, throw right back in there, and catch another nice bass. They were really crammed in there it seemed.

Lake Ray Hubbard
Thnx fishfordollars, I'll have to check out that brushtop. I live within a stone's throw of Hubbard but I rarely fish it. I don't own my own bass boat yet, so I do most of my fishing on a private lake out east where my buddies and I have several 10 foot pontoon type boats w/ trolling motors. I'm hoping to get a bass boat this year or next, and when I do I'll be on Ray Hubbard several times a week.

Recomend a lure for topwater fishing mossy areas that don't cost $10+ each :)
