  1. Nice Fish!!! That monkey looks pretty cool too.
  2. I usually fish out of one of these http://www.sundolphinboats.com/oz/4/com/fish/sp8/sportsman.html or one of these http://www.pelicansport.com/index.php?language=en&category=fishingboat&nauticalboat=gator
  3. Sorry to bring this back again...just wanted to add a few.
  4. I live a few blocks north of the Dalrock ramp. If any of you guys have a back seat open I'd be happy to come along if I'm not stuck at work.
  5. Thanks everyone Actually, it got all the way down into the 50s yesterday morning. I had to wear a jacket for the first hour! BRRRRRR!!!! lol
  6. Was a bit chilly this morning but it got up to about 70 with partly cloudy skies in east Texas today. I'm glad I got to get out and catch some fish. The big one weighed 4 pounds 6 ounces. I caught her on a green pumpkin candy lobster on a green pumpkin hack attack jig. The rest of the fish were around a pound or under today, about 15 total. I caught a few on a baby craw on a bitsy flip jig, some on the eeliminator, and a few on a ragetail toad. The last hour before it got dark, I caught a few on a black buzzbait. Had to take the pictures myself. I tried using the timer on the camera and setting it on the trolling motor mount. It turned out very bright.
  7. Lol. I was thinking the same thing. A bass under 7lbs would be a change of pace for paul! Nice catfish, I haven't fished for big cats in a long time. When I started fishing as a kid, it was for catfish. I've kinda forgotten about them.
  8. I'd throw a buzzbait or a lipless crankbait
  9. A friend of mine was throwing one of these last time we were fishing. It looks cool, but he didn't get a hit on it. I was catching fish every few minutes throwing a ragetail craw, so he put it down and switched. I'd like to try it sometime though. Looks like a great bait for a c-rig. Especially when it gets colder.
  10. 10lb 2oz, caught on a t-rigged gycb flappin hog in color 301 (green pumpkin with green and purple flake, green pumpkin candy)
  11. What an amazing coincidence! I caught a bass that spit out a bass that spit out a '56 Volkswagon.
  12. I caught a bass a few weeks ago with a rat's tail coming out of her mouth. It was a pretty big tail, and the bass' stomach was huge. I couldn't believe she hit my lure, cuz she looked like she was about to explode.
  13. Yeah, a pre-trip post is a good way to catch tiny fish. Big fish are also more likely to hit if you leave your net, scale, or camera at home.
  14. They are the exact same bait, they just come in different colors. They weigh about 1/2 ounce.
  15. I have one of the slow slink spro bbz-1 shads, and my results are similar to those already posted in this thread. I've caught some fish on it, and ONCE I had a great day with it. Other times, I've found that I caught far more fish once I switched to something else. It sure does look great though.
  16. Muggy water? Since the word refers to the level of humidity and temperature, I guess all of the water I've ever seen is 'muggy' Muggy adj., -gi·er, -gi·est. Warm and extremely humid. [Probably from Middle English mugen, to drizzle, akin to Old Norse mugga, a drizzle.] Main Entry: mug·gy Pronunciation: 'm&-gE Function: adjective Inflected Form(s): mug·gi·er; -est Etymology: English dialect mug drizzle : being warm, damp, and close For muddy or stained water I'd go with darker colors, such as black/blue, brown, and green pumpkin.
  17. I like the strike king premier pro model plus. (is the name long enough?) I don't know why, but the SK premier pro models have caught far more fish for me than the other brands I've used.
  18. I like the white w/gold blade cavitron. I've caught fish on it in so many different conditions. Middle of the day, without a cloud in the sky...and they'll still hit it.
  19. Its a very versatile bait. My favorite way to fish it is weightless, with a VERY slow retrieve. The slower you go, the wider the wobble. You should probably play with it in clear water or near the boat first to get a feel for how slow you really need to go. Its easy to retrieve it too fast. Its also deadly on a light weight c-rig. 1/8 to 1/4 is good, use the lightest weight you can get away with depending on the wind. It can also be used as a topwater bait with a quick retrieve. This is great around grass, because you can bring the retrieve to a slow crawl in the pockets to get that wide sexy wobble. I was lucky enough to get a one-on-one tutorial on the bait from the creator, Big-O...and I was absolutely slaying them on this bait the first day I tried it. I hope you get the same results. A 4/0 ewg works perfect. Be sure to check out the ragetail website for rigging instructions/pictures. So far I haven't missed a fish on this bait.
  20. I saw some at my local BPS
  21. Frogg toggs are great and affordable. I love mine. They are oversized so that they can fit over insulated clothing, so the 2x should be big enough.
  22. I like the slow fall and big profile of the Ragetail Lobster.
  23. Burger King has pretty good french fries, I like them better than the McDonalds ones. Jack n the box has some d**n good seasoned curly fries. The zoom centepede (french fry) was one of the first plastics I started fishing when I was a kid. I caught tons of fish on them. I still have a few in my tackle box, but I haven't used them in a long time.
  24. Booyah boo jig with a ragetail Lobster
