  1. Yes. The entire thing was too long of a trailer for this spinnerbait.
  2. My friends and I noticed about 4 years ago that the big bass in our pond didn't seem to be getting any bigger. We harvested some fish in the 1 to 2 pound range and noticed a big difference the following year. Before, we were only catching bass up to 5 pounds but this past year we caught several 7's and 8's and one 10 plus! Forage is key, we also introduced a couple new forage species that have flourished. We're catching fish that are long and fat now.
  3. My friend Dan and I had a great morning on the water yesterday. It was sprinkling off and on, and the fish were biting! I caught fish on a watermelon w/ red flake ragetail baby craw, a black w/ blue flake eeliminator, a watermelon w/ red flake ragehawg, a green pumpkin ragetail lizard, and a white spinnerbait with a pearl eeliminator trailer. Yes, I'm a rage head!
  4. I caught a bunch of nice fish winter before last on green pumpkin fat ikas. Rig 'em backwards (skirt forward) and fish them slow. The only thing I don't like about them is that they resulted in too many gut hooked fish for me. Bass would hit them and swallow them too dang fast.
  5. I like the clear one. I dip all of my jig trailers in it.
  6. I really want to catch lmb with tubes, but I just haven't had any luck with them. I probably haven't given them a fair chance, but after a few pitches to a nice laydown and no hits...its hard not to drop it and go for the jig. Especially when the jig gets the hit. Too many times I've fished a tube without any success, then switched to a jig and done well. I don't have any confidence in them.
  7. I like 'em a lot. They have a great swimming action and I've caught some very nice fish with them. I've never tried the pre-rigged ones, but I like to fish them weightless or on a swimbait hook. They are also KILLER on a chatterbait head with no skirt. Just slow roll it and hold on!
  8. Yes and Yes. I like to use the shad on a fast action medium heavy or heavy action rod with 40 to 65lb braid. Same for the ragetail toad. a 4/0 superline ewg works great for both. These are two of my FAVORITE topwater lures..
  9. These pictures aren't of my stuff, but I showed them to my wife so she wouldn't think I'm 'that crazy' This guy just spent a month organizing it all. I wonder if he's also a member here, he's on another board. I'm sure he'll chime in and talk about his collection if he's here. He might be ***'s best customer.
  10. Watch out for geese...
  11. I like the clear a lot. I have a lot more confidence in the jig I'm throwing after dipping it in JJ's. The stuff just works. Pitch a JJ's soaked jig into a laydown and just let it sit there. Be ready to set the hook.
  12. It does look pretty good. Let us know how you do with it.
  13. Does it form sub-surface grass or surface mats? For submerged weeds, I like to burn a rattletrap over the top. Let it fall into the weeds and rip it out every once in a while. For surface mats, try working a frog over the top or punch through the holes with a t-rigged plastic and a tungsten flipping weight.
  14. I don't like to catch a bass on the first cast. So many times, it resulted in that bass being the only one for the day. I don't know if this is a superstition, really, but it seems that leaving the camera and/or net behind is a sure way to hook your biggest bass of the year.
  15. I use a 'casting' sinker or 'bell' sinker with a bullet weight above it on the line. It looks silly, but it will shake its way loose from anything. I like heavier weights, usually around a 1/2 oz.
  16. I've had a blast with the eeliminator. I like the pearl one rigged weightless on a 4/0 superline EWG. Just reel it VERY slow and it dances back and forth on the retrieve. The bass hammer it! I've also done well with it on a light weight c-rig. (3/16 to 1/4 oz)
  17. Laydowns. (fallen trees right on the bank) I've caught most of my biggest fish by pitching jigs into laydowns. I can't pass a laydown without pitching a jig into it, I just can't. Sometimes I'll spend an hour or more fishing the same one, catching fish after fish. Work 'em from the outside to the inside, and you'll be surprised how many fish will hold together in one laydown.
  18. My most productive drop shot bait for the past 6 months has been the ragetail baby craw. It has outproduced roboworms, trickworms, and senko style baits for me.
  19. The only issue I've had is that after 50 to 60 fish, the skirts get torn up a bit. I've replaced the skirt on a few and they're still catching fish.
  20. Hard to choose a favorite, but the lobster on a jig has produced some serious weight for me. I've caught a bunch of fish on the eeliminator and it's really fun to fish. The shad and toad get some explosive strikes and lots of fish. The craw has caught me a bunch of fish as well. The baby craw has replaced most of my drop shot baits. Its absolutely killer on a drop shot. It works very well on a shakey head too. Also makes a great trailer for finesse jigs. I haven't fished the smokin rooster or the rage hawg very much yet, but I'll start messin with them soon. The thumper is a great bait, and also works well on a drop shot and a shakey head if you cut it down a bit. The full size bait works great on a c-rig. Oh, and the RT lizard is great on a light weight c-rig. I like the green pumpkin one with the tail dipped in JJ's. Good stuff. I'm a bit of a ragehead, if you can't tell.
  21. I fished a tournament at Lake Fairfield today. It was a tough day and most of the boats were skunked. There was a total of 3 bass weighed in for the tournament. I didn't catch a bass all day, but I did catch my first redfish. It was a lot of fun, these things fight HARD.
  22. The baby ragetail craw has been my best drop shot bait for the past few months.
  23. I used to always use a c-rig with a 1/2oz to 3/4oz weight and thought of this as my deeper water rig. For the past few months I've been using lighter weight c-rigs in shallower water and its been great. A lightweight c-rig (1/8oz to 3/16oz) is a great way to fish the ragetail eeliminator. It also works well for lizards, trick worms, and ragetail craws.
  24. I love the Cavitrons. They squeak loud as hell and you can run them slow. They get up on plane quick and I like the hooks on them too. I don't know if they're the best out there, but they are the best that I've used.
  25. I use gammy superline ewg's for everything I flip/pitch, in sizes 3/0 to 5/0 depending on the bait.
