  1. Dude there was bait just flyen out of the water all over the place fish boiling seagulls diving it was mayham!! Just grabbed to ol'trusty Chug Bug and we caught fish after fish I love fishing this time of year.
  2. I caught this monster two weeks ago on the Mohawk River. We had a feeding frenzy going on all around the boat so I didn't get her on the scale. Just a quick pick and tossed her back I'd say 4+ or so.
  3. Man I just realised I got way off subject sorry about that! I yank out all of my batteries and keep them on a trickle charger on my work bench in my cellar. I just prefer to do that to keep them warm rather then freeze up.
  4. Lol yup WE WIN! we dont have to worry about batteries, frozen lakes, or anything really ;D except skin cancer and heat :-/ Geeeeze dont think that just because theres ice here up north that there is no fishing!! Ya cut yourself holes with a big 10" gas powered Ice auger and start drillin for tip ups. You also get yourself the biggest bait you can find. I prefer 12" or so suckers ya drop them down the hole and you wait for them big toothy pike and walleye and occasional large mouth. BUT, while you wait for the flags to fly ya play some football, maybe a little home run derby, bust out the ol'daisy and have a can shooting competition. But when a flag goes up thats when you run for it, because its like playing kill the carrier to get there first!!!! Well thats how we roll on the Ice, Man I do love Ice fishing!!!
  5. I always buy anything that looks like a craw or a shad and I like my deep cranks jointed.
  6. I went with a 40" or 45" I think 1080p LG LCD after my friends who had Plazma's were having problems with them. I have to say LG makes a quality TV. I also dont work for LG ;D
  7. Im all about the Chug Bug I also like my cranks Rapala JSR-5 and JSR-7 in all colors a 1/8 oz jig head with a 4" Kalins curlytail grub white or black. I'll stop now I could just go on and on.
  8. Man I love crankbaits!! Rippen them through weed's knocking them of rocks and stumps. Geeze when Im really cranking it feel's like im digging a ditch underwater. When you hit something pause, slow'retrieve, fast retrieve, crank, stop pause, crank down deep dig that ditch pause. If by the end of the season you dont like'em send me your cranks ill put them to good use!! ;D I used to be the same way with cranks keep throwin them really!
  9. Check out the Adirondaks In Upstate Ny? Lots of great fishing waters, Im from Ny and thats where ill be ritiring to in about 40 years. d**n 40 years!!
  10. Yup I gets me a lotta toothy fishes here in Upstate NY wouldn't leave home without the Boga!! But make sure you put some floats on the end before you hand them to someone that has never used one. I lost 2 Bogas in the Hudson. You would think I would have learned after the first!!!
  11. SMB- STORM CHUG BUG!! LMB- RAPALA JSR-7!!
  12. HMMMMM next time im out on my local river the Murky Mohawk or the Hudson ill test this out. The thought of it sounds like a possibility but with the current id probably throw in a manns -1 or a stick bait something that wouldn't dive to much. I mainly use the 3way when Im Striper fishing in the hudson with live Herring.
  13. Here ya go good luck on the boat hunt. http://www.nadaguides.com/

  15. Dude I did that for years!! Year after year id say next year. If your financially able just do it. I just happened to be at a dealership with a friend of mine to pick up a part for his boat and there she was just sitting there calling me. All clean...... shining sparkles glimmering in the sunlight. Went there to give a friend a ride and walked out with a Triton TR-186 man was my wife PO'd. ;D

  19. 1963 Sears 12' V with a 1963 2Hp Evinrude.
  20. I own a 2002 Triton TR-186 with a Merc 150 XR6 and I love the thing!! She's not the biggest or the fastest but she gets the job done. As far as chinewalk and porposing, someone who knows how to trim the motor wont have that problem. Also the only time I have gotten wet while motoring my Triton was when I forgot to put the trollin motor up before gunning it (Expencive mistake) besides that its a fast fun dry ride. Stratos is a fine boat iv been on a couple and have nothing bad to say about them. Main thing is see if you can test each of them out check out the deck space and get the feel for which one is a more comfortable fishing platform for you. Good luck!
  21. X-press makes a pretty sweet what they call fish and ski boat. Iv ridden on a couple X-press bass boats and they are a comfy ride. One day when my twins get old enough Ill have to start thinking fish and ski or walleye boat and will have to get rid of the ol'Triton. *sniffel* http://www.xpressboats.com/view/49
  22. I almost p!$$ed myself!! http://www.break.com/index/wife-will-never-touch-a-gun-again.html
  23. Im in a similar situation tomarrow. I have a tx on a lake iv never been to because iv had no time to pre-fish nor can I afford the gas. Ill go over a topo map of the lake tonite and ill pick out certain points or drop off's and come up with a game plan on paper. Typically on the water what I do is I look for structure or area's that look similar to lakes or rivers that I have fished in the past. I throw baits that I have the most confidence in and I work on my limit from there. Hopefully all will go well if it dosient there is alway's beer in the cooler during weigh in. The main thing for me is to have fun and at least get a limit small, big it dosient matter prefer a check but if not what can ya do. Good luck dude Peace out! D P.S. Google earth I love that website
