Im with you on the smuckers!! I would be livid about that also!! That would almost annoy me as much as when I find tuna in the mayo jar or a gob of jelly or fluff in the peatut butter jar. I HATE that!! ;D

Boy does this bring back bad memories!! I bent mine during a open tournament two years ago on Champlain trying to get up on plain while the motor was down (STUPID Rookie Mistake). I ended up munching the teeth on the pinion gear and bent the lower and upper shaft. I was able to bend the lower back but had to replace the upper shaft and the pinion gear. Your gonna need to take the whole thing apart make sure you take a quick pic of how the wiring is. To get the head off mine ( Brute 767) there were 3 screw's on the bottom I ended up purchasing all the parts needed from this place http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/ they are very helpful and they should have a parts diagram of your motor if not you can just call them, there customer service is awesome. Racoon trap some kitty kibble if you catch it bring it to your local SPCA. Beware though ya might catch an unwanted target animal say a skunk and that could really be stinky!!

I havient fished it yet but I just recieved one 7' ML spinning that I got off E-bay for 40 smackers!! I couldn't resist at that price plus it came wil a Abu Garcia Cardinal C-102. Split Grip handle,the reel seat is a little odd,the reel base actually suspends off he blank by about 1/8th inch. I cant wait to test it out I hope it fishes as good as it looks!!

Has anyone ever used a Redington Rod? I just recieved a 7'6" Telescoping Flipping stick it looks pretty sweet. I have never heard of them but they seem to make some high end Fly rods.

Do you hear a grinding sound when you step on the foot control? I had to make a repair on mine last year because of a bent shaft. I had to rebend and straghten the lower shaft, totally replace the upper shaft and the pinion gear. I wouldn't think you would have a problem at all provided the batteries are fresh. Do you know what size batteries your running?
