Doesn't that kind of take the fun out of this? Granted I'm only a first-time participant in this, but isn't it a little more fun to let the buyer choose and surprise the receiver? Yea, I kinda feel the same way. I wasn't sure, so I threw the idea out there. If no one bites, that's just fine by me.

It's amazing how so many of Cosby's early bits have stuck with me. Just tonight at dinner my wife was telling me about her coworker's son. I asked what his name is and she responded, "Noah." Without thinking I blurted out, "How long can you tread water?" To this day, I can't help but sing along everytime I hear Cosby's 'Little Old Man.'

I grew up in the country, so rather than street games we had field games. SPUD was a popular one around here. Tackle 500 with a Nerf football was big as well. Our waterballoon launcher got a heavy workout too. I'd rarely leave home without my pellet gun. We played Homerun Derby in a vacant lot next to an apartment building. In order to hit an official dinger, your ball had to hit the second story wall of the building...I honestly can't believe that we never broke a window.

No kidding. I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: if I had the resources, I'd stick Dane Cook and Ryan Reynolds on a rocket and shoot it straight at the sun. Another vote for Red Foxx.

Poor fella... we call opening day of any given year, New Year's Day. By april, we are fishing post spawn. My advice, move south!! ;D Heck, our opener is the first saturday in May.

The O-line finally got their heads out of their a**es. Talk about an ol' fashioned beatdown.

I'm in the market for a new reel to pair with a seven foot, medium powered cranking rod. This will be primarily used for mid-depth cranks, nothing more than twelve feet or so. I have been thinking about the Citica 201E, but the 27 IPT may be a bit too fast for me. Has anyone been using the Citica E for mid-depth cranks?

Nope. A medium powered rod that is tip-heavy.

It depends how balanced the rod is to begin with. A heavier powered rod doesn't always require a heavy reel to balance it out. A tip-heavy medium powered rod requires a heavier reel to balance it out. A Chronarch Mg will sit just fine on a big ol' meatstick, as long as the rod is balanced to begin with. On the other hand, if that big ol' meatstick is tip-heavy, I'd rather put a Chronarch B on it. Then there's the whole 'what are you using your rod for' thing. Tip-up presentations, like plastics and jigs, are a lot easier to fish with a balanced rod. Tip-down presentations, topwater and jerks, don't really require a primo balanced rig.

Though I have to wait until Spring, the 6'3" M is on my list. One can never have too many topwater and jerkbait rods. I'm thinking a Core would be a fantastic match, given my intentions with this stick. I'm really hoping this rod excels at these techniques, as I plan on using it for Rico's, Gunfish 95's, Deep X-Rap's, and Pointer 78's and 100's, as well as their DD counterparts.

Now it looks like the O's are in the mix for Manny, and the Halo's just may resign Texeria. If I had to guess... Sheets to Houston, Dempster resigns (unless the chubbies can pry Peavy away from the braves), and CC goes to either LA team or the dreaded yanks.

I was really bummed when it didn't get picked up for a second season. Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm are a few of my favs.

Unlike Brewers fans who were trying to figure out where to put the trophy on opening day! ;D Milwaukee hasn't won a pennant since the Braves were in town. We expect to lose. We finally made the playoffs this year, the first time since 1982. The word trophy isn't in our vocabulary. We haven't claimed to be good since the days of Rockin' Robin, Jimmy 'Gumby' Gantner, Cecil Cooooper, and Paul 'The Igniter' Moliter.

If I was a bettin' man, I'd say it has something to do with the fact that the cubs haven't won a playoff game under Sweet Lou's tenure. Like all other chubby fans he'll turn up a few weeks before pitchers and catchers report, predicting chicago as world champs, printing World Series tickets, and asking when they get fitted for their rings ;D

Hit it right on the head. I also prefer St. Croix ice rods and a quality 1000 size reel. For panfish, I like a 28" UL rod. For walleye, Croix makes a killer 24" L rod in the Legend series. And for bass, a 24-32" M rod will do just fine.
