THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
Today Sabathia threw a complete game, struck out nine, and went yard. And to top it off, Dempster takes the loss at home. Go Crew!!! Somehow Marmol and his 4.13 ERA are going to the Mid-summer Classic. Don't get me started on Fukudome and Soriano....

Bachelor Party
Someday down the road when I decide to get hitched, I would like the bachelor party to head up to Wisconsin's northwoods. There is a flowage called the Lac Du Flambeau, and it is a walleye powerhouse. Also on this system is a disc golf resort. They have several 18 hole courses, cabins, the whole deal. 'Eye fishing in the morning and disc golfing in the afternoon...not bad. Of course we'll leave our evenings open for visiting Wisco's fine establishments. Can you say brandy old fashioned?

Type sammy or pointer into the search bar....you'll find pages of praise. Also, type live pointer into the search bar... not so much praise there.

Brett is a back up.
Since the day Brett announced his retirement, I've really liked the way Rodgers has handled this. His comments are great, a little cocky and surly. He really has been a straight-shooter and told it as it is. Basically he's said 'look, I'm not Brett, never will be Brett, I'm Aaron Rodgers and I'm going to do things my way.' I'm diggin' it. You are correct, he has paid his dues. I mean we've had an offseason retire/not retire bunch of drama for several seasons now, not that that bothers me, but I'm sure it wasn't paricularily pleasant for Rodgers.

New baitcasting setup?
I'm assuming the spinning rod you have is a medium power. If you like the LT's so much, why not get a MH LT casting rod. The jig-n-worm is 6'6", and the sweeper spinnerbait is 7'0". If you really want to spend some dough, get a Legend Elite. They really are in a class of their own, like a fine surgical tool. I smile every time I pick up mine. For a reel....a Zillion works great on just about any MH rod. And if you want to splurge here, go for the Shimano Core. It has a nice IPT at 26, it's very lightweight, has HEG, and looks to kill. BTW, love the screen name.

Looking for a new Crankbait Rod
The Crankin Stik would probably be your best bet in this price range. Couldn't agree more. I own two. The first I bought quite a few years ago. I have beaten the crap outta that thing and it's still crankin' away.

What Gear to Buy Next (Bait Monkey Alert)
The 6'8" MH fast spin rod you mentioned makes a lot of sense. This should round out your collection nicely. Save up a little longer and splurge on the Cumara. You know you'll be happy you did. Also give the carrot stix and Dobyns rods a look.

NASCAR Bush at Chicago
The same comment circulated around the room a few times while we were watching the end. Well, I must admit that my view on Johnson has softened a bit since Dale went to the evil empire. :-/ I don't even cuss Gordon anymore when he's on TV. :-? Now it looks like my boy Martin will run full-time for them next year. I'm pulling my hair out here. Kinda bittersweet. Hendrick or not, I'd sure love to see him hoist up the cup in Miami.

Brett is a back up.
I hate to admit it, but Favre cannot play in the cold anymore; his body just won't do it. This was evident in several games last year. A Wisconsin team cannot have a QB that flubs in the cold...it's always freaking cold.

"Bur...grrr...King"
Very funny. I'm going to have to recycle that one in these parts. The great thing is, you can insert half of Wisconsin's towns for name. The vast majority of towns and citys around here are native American names. As Alice Cooper said on 'Wayne's World,' ...it's pronounced mill-e-wah-que, which in Algonquin for "the good land." LOL.

THE PENNANTS ARE "ALMOST" IN VIEW AND THE TRASH IS FLYING- 2008
I wonder when Harden's arm will fall off? August or September? He makes Sheets and his injury filled years look like Cal Ripken Jr. Ten bucks says it won't even happen on the mound. I can see it now, "The Chicago Tribune has reported that Cubs starter Rich Harden took a nasty spill getting out of the tub yesterday, and will be out until next June."

Hey, is that Enrico Pallazzo?
Every single time I go to a ballgame and hear our National Anthem, I can't help but think of Lt. Drebin butchering the song. I can't get to "the bombs bursting in air" without chuckling, because in my head I hear 'bunch of bombs in the air, gave proof through the night, that we still had a flag.'

'Hey It's Enrico Pallazzo' is my screen name for all of my fantasy sports accounts. ;D

A trade for AJ Burnett is a real possibility. I don't know if they have what it'll take to trade for Bedard. I know they don't have what it'll take for Sabathia. Maybe Maddux will make his third stint as a chubby.

Night Fishing Lures
X2. Couldn't of said it better myself. I like buzzbaits at night as well. Jitterbugs are nice 'cause you can cast them, let them sit as you sip on whatever it is you're drinking, and then work it a little, take a sip, etc.

BPS Crankin' Stick input
For crankin' line I am a big fan of Super Silver Thread in 8#, and Silver Thread AN40 in 10-12# for crankin' in areas with a bit more cover. I also use the AN40 when short, flatline trolling for walleye.

Hey CJ, Just wanted to remind you of the little wager we have on the Cards/Mets season series. Round one starts Monday. Round two starts July 25th at NY. I've been thinking about what kind of crank I want...... I'll let you know after the 27th.

And how long did it take me to talk you into getting one, "I don't see paying for radio......blah blah blah" That will cost you one series 6 in the new Sunrise Sexy Shad, which is really sweet BTW. Could you post a link to check out the Sunrise Sexy Shad pattern please.

Whats your age?
I'll be thirty on Aug 17th. Not looking forward to it. Twenty-something has such a nice ring.

I really get irritated
On the whole I'd have to disagree. Yes today's bc reels will allow one to present small offerings (the Pixy, 50mg, Sol, Alphas, etc.). But not eveyone has the budget to get one of these beauties. So no, spinning tackle and spinning tackle only is not exclusively better suited for light stuff. I agree with you there very much so. But unless a person has the loot to purchase a finesse casting reel, I'll usually recommend a spinning outfit; especially if the person is more of a novice to fishing tackle. JMHO.

Hmmm, Shaky head on a bait caster?
When people are using these super light weights on their stout bc gear, chances are they're pitching or light flippin'; close-range stuff. Unless the individual has the proper tackle, like a finesse casting reel, trying to cast those little buggers can cause a ton of problems. A four inch hand-pour on a light jig is not always a cakewalk to cast on a heavier rod. God forbid it's windy. Again, if it's close-range stuff, no prob. If the person is fishing a heavier plastic like a senko, creature, etc, then again, no prob. A lot people's heavier plastics/jigs reels ( Zillions, Chronarchs, Curado 200's, etc.) are not always the best choice when fishing light shakey jigs, and even lighter plastics. As I said, I even prefer to fish these combos on bc gear: a rod with a lower rating and a reel that can handle casting lighter weights. Most of my fishing is casting, not pitching/flipping. For a person looking for an all purpose light plastics rig, a spinning rod or properly matched bc is the way to go. JMHO. That's all I was suggesting. 8-)

How to fish the Sweet Beaver
This past spring, the Smallie Beaver has seen a lot of time on the water from me as a trailer for 1/4oz All-Terrain Tackle jigs. I noticed you mentioned lilly pads. Rig one of the Sweet beavers you have weightless or with a small bullet weight, burn it on top by the pads, and let it fall into the pockets.

Hmmm, Shaky head on a bait caster?
You shouldn't have any trouble casting a 3/8oz jig on your baitcasting gear. The 1/4oz jig might give you trouble if you are using a heavier set-up. With the proper rig, 1/4oz should be no problem. I cast light jigworms all the time on a casting outfit, and have a blast doing so. My rig consists of a Loomis BCR852 GLX, and Daiwa TD-Z 103ML, and 8# Yozuri Soft. The 852 has a rating from 1/8 - 3/8oz; darn near perfect for shaky heads. Most people are using spinning gear because they are throwing light jigs, and many times they are paired with a finesse plastic.
