  2. quehamoning is absolutely on fire. i caught over 30 bass over 3 lb in less than two hours friday night
  3. any advice on how to catch better than average fish? i hear from alot of ppl that the lake is full of bass but only takes 14-15 lb to win.
  4. Lake is on fire. ton of big bass being caught.
  5. fat impacts are best swimbait on the market. i do use the 3 inch shiners on a drop shot for smallies.... keitech also makes a really great swim jig called the model 3 that i love to throw all year long i also had alot of success throwing the 4.8 swing impact on a biffle hard head last fall for big bass, excited to try it alot more this season
  6. out yesterday. ice is completely off.
  7. from mile 6 down is froze solid. patches of ice between there and aitch. highest water temp i found was 38.
  8. Ill let you know what i get figured out there in early may. i took some time off work to go there prior to my tournament
  9. hopefully by next weekend. theres a fish4five tournament on sunday scheduled
  10. its the perfect trailer for a swim jig. rig it horizontally so that you can skip the bait with ease and get it to places the competition isnt throwing.
  11. reins bubbling shaker jackall crosstail shad 3 inch tube
  12. i use alot of lews reels. but i dont have the laser mg speed spool. i have the bb1 and a few others and the lube port is a trap door on the underside of the reel. u must use a small screwdriver to remove a screw that holds the lube port trap door in place. once the trap door is removed it will expose your gears where i normally take reel grease (not oil) and grease up the gears.
  13. i cut the rubber band and hand tie the skirt on with fly tying thread. once i complete the knot i drop alil nailpoish harder on it so it stays tight and the jig will last forever.
  14. JIG. flip to the wall keep the bail open until the bait hits the bottom or a shelf. engage reel and hold on
  15. when water is super cold and the fish are alittle deeper a lucky craft staysee jerkbait when the water starts to warm up its hard to beat megabass vision 110
  16. lucky craft pointer 100. great action and casts a mile. it also gets about a foot deeper than most other tradition jerkbaits. my favorite largemouth and spotted bass jerkbait is the megabass vision 110 but last year i caught alot of brown dudes on it so its my go to jerkbait when im on a lake that has a mix of big smallies and largies
  17. i see theres a mosquito state park so im planning on camping there. theres alot of towns/cities nearby so im sure theres a ton of hotels in the area.
  18. jigs are not a very effective pond bait in my opinion and you will have a hard time learning how to fish one and getting confident in a jig by fishing ponds. instead try a texas rig soft plastics. worms and beaver style baits are amazing pond baits. when you go out on the boat at a larger lake or river, then try throwing a jig you will be much more successful.
  19. I have a bass tournament this year at mosquito lake just outside warren ohio in may. im planning on taking the week off work to get out there and practice. from looking at maps on the net it looks like a shallow weedy lake. am i correct on this assumption? Does any one have any experience fishing this lake? any help would be greatly appreciated..
  20. i believe that motors now a days are junk. and the bigger motors that pack more power and torque seem to blow up way more than smaller ones. i have a 1991 mariner 40 magnum and it runs great and to be honest i dont put much effort into its maintenance and never has a problem. and on my 19 foot stratos i run a 2007 175 etec. tho the performance is amazing on it, and i do everything possible to maintain it it still breaks down and needs fixing, nothing ever major. and i know so many guys with brand new mercury 150s, 200s, 250s that are only 2 years old that are completely blowing up on them. thank god for warranties i guess. but its like anything else now a days. nothing is built to last any more.
  21. Dock fishing you cant beat skipping a jig. whether you fish it on the bottom or swim it out its unbeatable at catching big dock bass.
  22. mustad fastach wobble head. i vary my size depending on the depth and the speed i wanna wind in the bait on the bottom... favorite baits are rage craws, havoc pit boss, biospawn vilecraw
  23. nice dude. congrats on the new job. yough dam isnt too far from you. great smallmouth and walleye fishing there
  24. i have one 3700 deep tackle box for all my jigs. I catch most of my fish on jigs and im a huge believer in keeping things simple. i use a stand up bullet style jig head for all my jig fishing. i only throw three colors, green pumpkin black/blue and brown and three sizes, 3/8 ounce 5/8 ounce and one ounce. my box is divided into nice sections one for each jig and i keep 20-30 jigs of each size and color in the box
