  1. Slept right through it. Guess some of the patients at the hospital my GF works at felt it though.
  2. Caught four carp the other day in the dam spillway. Still waiting on that first bass of the year though.
  3. Thank you guys very much for all your help. I think she deceided that we are going to pigeon forge/gatlinburg. Expect a full write up of the trip afterwards. Thanks again.
  4. Eh, don't know yet. I'm on the eastern edge of northern IN. I can pretty much head straight south and then choose east or west, LOL. Thanks for the suggestions guys. By all means keep them coming.
  5. OK here's the deal. My gf and I are heading to Tenn. for our vacation at the end of may. My buddy and his gf are also coming. Me and him both love to fish. The ladies, not so much. Where would be a good place to go that would offer us good fishing and them good shopping/sightseeing/nightlife?
  6. Two words. Harbor Freight. They sell cheap tools. Not the best but they are all warrantied. I use them everyday at work. Yes, they break often. But I just return them and the grumpy old lady at the counter swaps them out for brand new tools.
  7. If I take the camera I won't catch anything. Forget it and I'll catch something on every cast it seems.
  8. Great. Glad you shared that with all of us. Welome to the site.
  9. Don't know for sure but I'm guessing its an Extra Fast tip.
  10. Fish Man- Thanks that is the kind of comparison I wanted. My buddies here all use St. Croix and swear by them. Great Avatar BTW. Falcon- Who makes the Pro Select and where are they available? We have a Dick's and a Gander Mountain here in town. BPS or Cabelas is like a 3 hr drive away.
  11. I was looking at the Gander Mountain Guide Series rods the other day and wanted some opinions. I'm looking at the heavier rods, baitcasting, MH or H with fast action. Probably as a flipping rod or just a big bait rod. Anyone have personal experience with these? Would like to stay under $100 and willing to consider other brands.
  12. NE Indiana. The ponds are pretty much open. Haven't been to any lakes though.
  13. I have the berkley vertical rack. It's black and holds six. I've quickly outgrown it. I'm satisfied with it and will probably mount a second next to the current. I'm curious as to why not store them with the reels on? Could someone explain that?
  14. I used the palomar since I started fishing last year. I used a swivel on one of my rods for all of my wire baits, still caught plenty of fish.
  15. I plan on keeping a journal this year. I printed off the pages last year but never filled any out. I don't have a GPS on my 12' boat but I do photocopy the lake map and approximate where I caught fish. These pages will then get stapled to the back of the journal page.
  16. I borrowed the book from a buddy. I thought the book offered alot of knowledge but it read like a textbook. I got bored, my attention span needs more pictures.
