  1. I'i flog the water with a chartreuse or golden shiner spinnerbait.I'd also pitch a 4" tube or creature bait.
  2. Like everyone else has said, the falling barometer that comes with a thunderstorm really gets the bass to hitting, but when I see lightning I'm gone.
  3. As someone just mentioned,I think if you'd skinhook the point of the hook you'd have better results,I normally use a 1/4 ounce weight but sometimes go up to a 1/2 if conditions call for it.
  4. You're right about the diffrerence between cover and structure.
  5. .YOU CAN GET A USED JON BOAT FOR AROUND $100.00.Put in some seats a good foot control TM and you're in business. You'll be able to cover a lot more water, and catch more fish.also, you can carry a lot more tackle and gear.Go ahead and do it ,if you're truly into bassin;.
  6. I use 4/0 and5/0 Eagle Claw EWG and have pretty good results.
  7. I'm with RW on this one.The difference is now you have the ability to cover lots more places than you did on foot.
  8. I agree that he's no better at it than the average Joe that has done some fishing in his life.If he got challenged by Clunn,Ike,G,KVD,Clausen, etc.;he'd come right down to earth with the rest of us.
  9. Good 'un ,Matt...LOL !
  10. If you're dead set on a Motor Guide,get it,but I've had both and prefer a Minn-Kota.
  11. I've heard that same analogy before,and I think it's a good one.
  12. I've got a Yamaha tournament shirt,an FLW tourney shirt, and an Iconelli Tourney shirt. They are all very comfortable.Like wearing a bowling shirt(I wear mine untucked).Great for fishing in.They're very light feeling.
  13. Charlie is OK,but as someone mentioned he's probably got thousands of challenges already.
  14. You'll have a hard time finding a better deal.Better buy it before somebody else does.
  15. I've lost some and landed some.I generally just call those that I lost a quick release.
  16. If I'm not having a good day on the water,I blame no one or nothing.I generally tie on a search bait that I have a lot of confidence in ,like a spinnerbait, and "go fishing".
  17. Welcome to our Forum,Just a bunch of great guys who know some bassin'and don't mind sharing.I've become a much more versatle angler listening to these guys.Glenn and all our moderators strive to make this the best bassin' site on thr web.
  18. Been through there many times.I have family in Waldron,Arkasas.Believe me demented,I know ladies can fish with the best of them.I share my boat with a wife that's also been bassin' since a child, and her daddy taught me what I know about bassin'.
  19. You should have let the game and fish authorities handle them, but you did the next best thing. Those "champions "will have a big surprise waiting for them.
  20. When setting the hook on a bass with a jig and pig,"cross his eyes" !
  21. My best tip came from my father-in-law who was a tournament angler way back when.Don't be afraid to throw a spinnerbait into the thickest, nastiest wood cover. As long as the spinnerbait is moving it won't get hung up on the wood.2nd best tip:as you reel that spinnerbait over a log, limb, etc. ,let it "die" for a moment after it goes over the cover. It will flutter down like a dying baitfish.I catch most of my heavy wood cover spinnerbait bass this way.
  22. Early morning,I fish topwaters, floating jerkbaits, and buzzbaits. As the sun comes up,I'll hit a few more shady areas with the floating jerkbait. When that runs out,I'll go with a 3/16 white spinnerbait.Later on in the morning it's a Carolina rig using a watermelonseed lizard. When the sun really gets up,I'll either pitch a tube to the numerous blowndown tree tops or continue the C-rig on some deeper water structure.I'll probably throw a deep diving crank bait along with the C-rig.As the sun starts to go down,It's back to topwaters, floating jerkbaits, and buzzbaits.
  23. Thanks a million,Whittler!
  24. I'm into Tournament shirts.I'm gonna get a BR Tournament shirt, and I'd also get a LBH Tournament shirt if you make one.
