Everglades canal fishing!
I live in South Palm Beach County FL, and the iguana population is crazy here. I am guessing that is is worse down south of us. I have see other intrusive reptiles, like basalisk lizards and cuban anoles and spiny iguanas, there are allot of different types of intrusive reptiles here in florida. Just imagine walking out in your back yard and theres a 5 foot lizard sitting in a tree. Here ya go.

One of the better bites going on now
That looks like a canal in Dania I used to fish. There were allot of nice snook and tarpon in there, I hooked and didn't catch allot of huge tarpon in that canal.

Is it possible for there to be too much forage?
I went out this morning on my home lake, and didn't do so hot and havn't been doing too well for a while now. Just a few short years ago I could go out any day any time of the year and catch between 10-25 fish without a problem. As of late I have really had a hard time getting them to bite. I know they are there, they just won't eat what I am offering. The last few years there has been an influx of shad the population seems to have tripled they are just everywhere, not that this is a bad thing, I think they just eat shad whenever they feel the urge to eat, until they are full, therefor making it tough to get them to take my presentations. So my Question is; Is there too much food for these fish, making them very picky when it comes to a crank, spinner, or plastic of some kind?

HELP: Florida Fishing
In general the fish spawn for a 3 month period from late Nov. to late Feb. The pre spawn is usually excellent down here, it starts almost as soon as the water temp drops. Where I fish in south Florida they will hit just about anything for this short period of time.

Redfishing
It has been quite a few years since I have caught redfish, but I do agree, they are great fighters and, yes they are tasty. The Florida slot limit is 18 to 27 inches. I remember catching them in the Sebastian Inlet like 4 feet long and like 25-30lbs. Those were really fun to catch.

Three more bigguns
Nice fish, probably would have been 9 lbs if you rolled it around on the ground more, and got a little more debris stuck on it. LOL Just kidding.

Beauties on the golf course.
Went out to my series of lunker lakes, on the golf course that I am lucky enough to fish on a regular basis. Needless to say it was hot, No!! VERY HOT. And the fishing was fairly hot too. I got 2 nice fish and allot of 2-3 lbers. The big fish went 5-5 and 5-15. Well good luck to everyone out there. By the way have the peacocks been slow this year, to all you S Florida guys? I have been having a hard time getting them to bite. Whats the deal?

What type of gar is this...
Florida gar is correct, not long nose, long nose gar have more spots.
-
Whats up with all the dead gar??
I agree, sometimes people try to thin the numbers of gar by just leaving them on the bank, see it all of the time around here.

I have no clue what this is. Take a look.

A few weeks worth of hawgs.
Been fishing the local golf course ponds for a few weeks, and have not been disappointed. They have been hitting just about anything presented to them a couple of these fish broke the 6 lb mark and the others all around 5lbs or so. It has been fun it is just getting very hot down here. Hope you all are getting some too.

Very Hungry fish. Fatal in 1 case.
My guess is that the tilapia was around a pound or so and the bass was around 5 to 6lbs.

Very Hungry fish. Fatal in 1 case.
I have seen allot of strange things while fishing over the course of my life, but the last few weeks I have seen some wierd stuff. My brother got a big swimbait (Bossy Mark, baby bass 6.5 inches 3.1 oz) to try to pull some of the big fish that have been chasing the smaller fish we catch and eating them in some cases. Well on about the 5th cast he hooks up to our excitment. It turns out to be a 15 inch fish with a big appitite. Then he was throwing a 7 inch senco stlye worm that look like a freaking huge cigar and catches a 13 inch fish on that. Then I was out on my lake with a friend and we come up on a big floater, hate to see that, it was fairly fresh, so upon further inspection the fish had a big spotted tilapia stuck in its throat both dead of coarse. So I thought I would share these strange greedy fish pics with you all, and see what you all think.

New spot, New 09 PB, Gotta Love It
Went to try a new spot with a friend, I had seen this lake from afar, but never have a chance to get a small boat in this lake. Didn't know too much about it, so it was a free for all. Started out slow, and them about an hour or so after we got there I hooked up with a monster she jumped clear out of the water 5 to 6 times, I was freaking out untill I finally lipped her and held her up. I didn't get a length but she must have went 25" long or more. She weighed in at 7 lbs even, I bet she would have went 9 pre-spawn. Still what a nice big strong healthy bass, good genetics. I will be seeing her again.

Please help to identify
Yes, that is a drum, if you lived in coastal waters I would say it was a croaker, but drum is the correct answer.

Re: FINALLY!! A NEW PB! (PIC)
Good thing I saved this. Looks like we were right, IT WAS A FAKE. He took it down very quickly. It is a bit smaller but now every one can see.

Re: FINALLY!! A NEW PB! (PIC)
I agree, look how his index finger looks, there's a liitle half circle shape void there. Nice try, but I think Photoshop has been applied here. Good attempt but should have worked on that finger a little bit more if you wanted to get away with it.

Hawg x2
Went to our golf course fish-fest the other day and needless to say the big bite was on. We got 2 very nice fish, one for me and one for my bro. I would like to see what weight you guys think that the 2 big girls are. I think everyone will be off by at least a pound or two. As soon as someone gets the weight I will let you all know. They were both within a half pound of each other.

Unusual catches on artificials?
My brother and myself fish a golf couse system fairly often, and do quite well with the old LM's. Recently we have gotten some odd catches on artificials like a fairly nice catfish on a jig-n-craw, and a big tilapia on a soft plastic. Just wondering what else everyone has gotten on artificial baits that were intended for bass. Let see what you guys come up with.

Striper-Lake Mead
Just curious, is there any limit on how many you can keep? Not a big believer in C&R I see.

How often does this happen? (wierd)
I went to my golf course bass haven was doing very good, had like 20 fish, a few real nice ones. Earlier in the afternoon I missed a very large fish while using a U/L combo, occasionally I use it out there to throw little in-lines and small spinners of sort. Needless to say I lost a 7 possible 8 lber just because I couldn't keep the small treble hook in her mouth with the U/L. Well I was about to wrap it up so I decided to throw the spinner a few more times and sure enough on the first cast with it I hook a 14 inch fish around 1.5 lbs. I fight the fish right up to the shore about 3/4 feet from it and my bass get swallowed. I am in shock as this monster of a bass swims off slowly with my 1.5 lb bass headfirst in it's mouth still hooked to my in-line spinner. I have and U/L rod and reel with 6lb test on it, I am in trouble. I pulled back just to see if she still had the smaller bass and she did so I set up a little hoping the hook would find a way into the monsters mouth and POP the 6 lb mono breaks a quick as it all happend. So I guess I was wondering if this has happend to any of you guys out there. If I had to guess the fish in question had to be 27 inches long, and 10 plus for sure. Sorry about the long read. Here's some of the nice ones I got the other day.

1st matt lure fish
Yeah, that's a corn snake or red rat snake, they bite but are not poisonous.
