  1. Freakin hilarious
  2. Sounds like fun. We went down and fished the Texas City Dike last weekend. Good luck.
  3. Surely there's a way for the forum software to limit the size automatically. Just a thought, maybe one less thing you would have to worry about.
  4. I think popeye's talking about something like this. I've heard of people using them with success, although I never have. Or
  5. That is correct bhorlings. The 36 in 1436 is the width of the boat at the bottom. I've got a 1232, alone I am comfortable with the stability. When I get my wife and son in there with me is when I've gotta be a little more careful. I sit in the back and have a 9" pedestal/seat that I use while fishing. I try to only stand on the floor and not up on the deck, it makes it too top heavy.
  6. I had 1 battery powering a 30lb TM(only source of propulsion) and depthfinder on a 12ft jon boat. I've fished many 8-10 hour days without any problems. I've recently bought a 9hp gas motor, now I can't even feel any loss in TM power after 8 hours of fishing.
  7. It's good to permanently mount the transducer if you've got a trailer. But if you'll be dragging the boat on the ground to and from your truck then on the TM is the way to go. I've got a 12 ft jon boat and no trailer, I mounted the transducer to the transom with bolts and wing nuts to make it easily removable for transport, but it's still kind of a hassle putting it on and off every time I put it in the water.
  8. I take my 2 year old son fishing with me all the time. He's got a Spongebob squarepants setup:). Usually he gets a bobber and no hook. Every 15 minutes or so I have to untangle the line from around him, so he's not quite ready for a hook:)
  9. The home builders/developers wouldn't continue building new if they had a doubt that us and everyone else would buy it. I build apartments/condos and most are built on land that wasn't previously developed, however some are built on a site where previous construction had been demolished. Many times they are all sold or leased before construction is even complete.
  10. Leave it in a bucket outside and it'll evaporate.
  11. Man I just have to ask. What is a mook?
  12. I fished Lake Conroe today in my 12 footer. 20,000 acre lake. I'm very restricted on where I can go though:).
  13. I just started fishing a few months ago. Not sure why, but I got an idea to go fishing. I went out and bought 2 rods and reels and off I went. Since that day I can't stay away from the lake. I've fished 2-3 times a week since then. There wasn't any big fish or limit caught on my first outing that keeps me going back, in fact, I didn't even catch a fish. I guess it's the peace and serenity of the fishing atmosphere that got me hooked. Not to mention that you never know when you'll catch that monster:).
  14. I don't think it could have been stated any clearer. As HPBB said, "its not the weight of the boat, but the weight of everything and That means everything that goes in the boat. motor, gas, oil, bateries, tm's people, fishing gear, ect. even your lunch".
  15. Right now I've just got a TM but plan on getting a small outboard soon. I agree that it'd be better sitting up front and having a bow mount TM but I'm worried about when I am fishing with someone else, it's not real easy to swap positions in a 1232 jon boat.
  16. I've got a Humminbird 525 depth finder and when I'm in about 4 ft of water or less it shows .6 ft depth. Anyone ever had a similar problem or know what could be wrong? I find myself checking the depth with my rod rather than my depth finder:).
  17. I wear blue jeans:)
  18. Welcome... I'd say you need a bilge pump. I've got one in my jon boat. It's a 20 ounce plastic cup:)
  19. Is it possible to put a foot controlled trolling motor on the transom of a jon boat? I sit in the back of my boat and just hate reaching behind me for the tiller handle all day. Hmm.. Or maybe I could put one up front and run the foot pedal to the back?
  20. Why do something today when you can always do it tomorrow?
  21. Sheesh...I could have sworn that nobody was around when I was ridin my motorcycle!... hehe
  22. Good Job! I like the front seat setup. I kinda wish I would've done mine that way.
  23. Welcome. This is a great place as you will soon see.
  24. Those pictures are freakin amazing. Got one on my desktop now:). Thanks and good job fellas.
  25. Unless you get ahold of a homosexual one
