  1. I didn't catch a fish all day today. Yesterday I fished 6 hours and caught 2. I fish twice a week usually and the past few weeks I've been getting skunked 1 of the 2 days:(. I was wondering how often you guys go out and don't catch anything? Be honest:).
  2. Lookin good. You taking it out tomorrow to see if it still floats?
  3. On mine the seat just sits on the pedestal and can be pulled off and the pedestal has threads on the bottom that screw into the base. The seat swivels, not the pedestal. Both can be removed easily.
  4. I always catch hundreds of huge fish when I don't have a camera or a scale. For some reason when I bring the camera I don't catch any:).
  5. Check this out. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/gasprices/states/index.shtml
  6. Hehe... aint that the truth
  7. I don't keep a journal because I can remember perfectly that I didn't catch a fish. In all sorts of conditions:).
  8. Luces Bayou...down by the bridge on FM 2100.
  9. Looking good. Harbor Freight is awesome isn't it:). Probably not the best quality tools but you sure can't beat the price. That riveter got the job done didn't it?
  10. I spent about $700 on my 12 footer. That's including $300 for the boat/TM, new depth finder, battery, carpet, paint, and misc. screws and hinges and such.
  11. Quitting is easy, I do it every year:). For me the first week or so isn't extremely bad because I'm all gung ho about quitting. It's when I get 2 or 3 weeks under my belt and I say "Aw, one won't hurt". Then I slowly start bumming cigarettes from coworkers/friends. Soon after I'm back at the store buying them. I know these aren't very encouraging words, but I'd like you to know why it didn't work for me. We all know it can be done, just look at these guys replys. Good luck.
  12. I have a 30# on my 12 footer. It gets me around, even in strong wind. Just not as fast as I'd like. I would get at least a 40#.
  13. I'm in Houston, Texas and can't hardly catch a big bass. Man, I hate to see how I'd do somewhere else:)
  14. I've got a Pflueger Endeavor rod reel combo that I've only had for about 2 months. Sometimes when I reel it in the line leveling worm drive gets stuck on the left hand side so I end up with more line on that side of the spool. I have to pull out line and as I reel it back in add pressure to the line pulling it to the right to get the worm drive back on track. It appears to be clean and free of debris. Anyone know what might be the problem? Thanks.
  15. The battery box and lid wouldn't fit in my boat either. I ended up just using the plastic box screwed to the bench and not using the lid. I don't think you really need it, the plywood deck will go over it.
  16. Uh oh...So what are you gonna do? Live with it or repaint? :-/
  17. Sometimes exercise, sleep, television, magazines, etc. work for me.
  18. I think you can post pics already, I just looked at a post with pics and the member had only 3 posts.
  19. Bass Pro Shops. They sell them at Academy too, probably cheaper, but I happened to be at BPS already getting the seat.
  20. You got a good deal! Keep us posted on how it goes:)
  21. Ok...finished...for now:). I wired the depth finder, installed 2 rod holders, installed the front seat mount, and took it fishing today:). This has been a fun project, I worked on it on and off for the last two weeks. I'm pretty happy with the end result, although I would probably do a few things different on the next one. Paint for one, I already have a few scratches, all due to transport, 0 related to actually fishing. Next time I will strip it down to bare metal and use the best marine paint(and primer) I can find. I don't know about you all but I think it's very uncomfortable reaching back to operate the TM. I would like a foot controlled bow mount but they're a little pricey for my liking. I've got some ideas on how to "relocate" the tiller handle up next to me while leaving the TM in the same spot. That'll be my next project. Here's a final pic. And thanks for the kind words everyone:). Almost forgot, I took it out today and I can say I prefer the 11" pedestal on the back opposed to the seat directly on the mount, much easier casting and easier to drive. Here's what it cost me. 1. boat and TM $300 2. 1 sheet 3/4 plywood free from work:) 3. carpet and adhesive $40 4. Depth finder $120 5. Rod holders $40 6. Seat $35 7. Seat mounts and pedestal $60 8. Battery $65 9. Nuts, bolts, cup holders, misc. $30 10. Paint $30 Grand total $720 +-
  22. Too low is ok, too high, not ok. (signal bounces off hull if mounted too high) Way too low can be bad also. We mounted a transducer on our Crestliner FishHawk before last summer and when we took it out the water would shoot between the mount and the transducer and come flying out of the water like a jet skis rooster tail. Looked pretty ridiculous to me lol. I don't think I have to worry about rooster tails since my max speed is like a mile an hour:).... I'm gonna go out and finish the boat right now, as soon as I'm done I'll get a good "complete" pic. And I'll get you a cost list A.J.
  23. Minnows on a bobber:)
