I was on ebay looking at lures and came across a weird lure that uses a drill bit looking spinner in stead of a blade type. I ws wondering if anyone has used them or think it might be worth trying? I mean it looks different, but I am not sold that it would vibrate like a blade, which is a key factor in spinners.

I caught 4 over a 2 day period, with a cheap renegade( walmart). I also used a white pearl bomber.( both lures where floaters.) I used a twitch/ pause presentation for both. My best hit was on a booyah moon talker used during the day! I was about to pull the moon out of the water (had about 3 foot left to reel) and the bass came out of no where an smashed it right in front of me! it was awesome. made my camping trip of hail, 40+ winds, and thunder at night worth it. Did I mention I was in a tent?!

where in IL is "NEW" Athens? B/C I live in Athens,IL. It is outside of springfield,IL on IL route 29.

Has anyone on here every fished it? I learned of it recently and have not had alot of success on it yet. I dont know if the water is too cold still or what. I have seen schooling small bass on the banks but no bites. Any help would be nice.

This is doing pretty well so far. I am glad to see people posting pics. I cant wait for my shot at it. I found some really nice (new to me) lakes that have alot of potential. Looks like the bait monkey wins again, I have to get a hound dog and a pole retriever as to insure that everyone get their turn.

I just have to comment again. I really like this lure and would like to know if you feel confident to make them for the BR crew. Provided that we pay for your time and materials. And shipping. And what lure got the new paint?

Thats good to hear. I enjoy trying new lures, but I try not fall for gimmics. What kinda of conditions seem to produce for you(ballistik)?

I picked one hybrid up from tackleware house and was wondering if anyone has used one or have any thoughts on them.

X2 on the recording your tackle mods. Also not a bad idea to record the fishing trip as a whole. I.E. Water temp, air temp, clouds, month, day, Time, and which underware you wore!

Sorry for the slooooowwww reply ventureboat. The fishing is not to bad at springfield lake. Now san chris is very pressured at the moment though. I plan on fishing springfield more this summer.

I like the creativity. What if you used one weighted hook in one end and tied it to a fixed point like a split ring. then a regular hook through the other end of the senko and run the main line from the reg. hook through the split ring to the pole. that should give it more action. what do you think guys?

I love my terminator T1 series spinners. I have not had any problems, yet. I have been hearing a lot of positive reveiws on the war eagles though.

I finally got a day off that was warm enough to go fishing today. The pressure was on though. every body and there brother agreed with me that it was a good day to go fishing. I got stuck working a few lack luster spots. And luck have it, I snagged a red RAT-L-Trap( my only one in that color.) :'( But I have to report that my new strikeking series 5 in sexy shad is awesome! I am very impressed with its action and ability to reach its depth very quickly. Also on the pause it floats backwards about a inch.

I live in springfield,IL and our local dick's( which is rumored to be closing by the end of summer!) And I have run across them too. they kinda look like Rat-L-traps. I have tried to talk myself into buying one, but I never seem to seal the deal. I will look for more info on them. Be right back....my lord there is not a drop of info on the web. :'( I checked dick's site and googled it, no luck.sorry. I guess just buy one and try it.

Now I voted for cabela's, only because it is the only place with a good selection that is sorta close. But I just used tackle warehouse for the first time and I am very happy with my purchase. I picked up a hybrid terminator and a series 5 sexy shad from strike king. The prices were not to bad either. Just thought I would put that two cents in.

Me personally, I "try" to do a full cover of the area I am in before switching. I usually start with a Rat-L-trap or some other noisey lure.

Well thank you for the info. I to enjoy otter lake. I have a friend with a camper there. I have not gotten to fish it in a couple of years though.
