  2. Nice work Russ!!!!!!! Can't wait for spring Though, I may be @ my timeshare in Florida the 1st week of March. Do you think they'll be available by then? Any chance of making a video of the sander mishap? :-X ;D Will you be taking pre orders? How will we know when they're available and where can they be purchased?
  3. Great idea!!!!!!! ;D :
  4. The upside; I'm happy to say the Brute worked better then expected!!!!!!! It casts a country mile, came through the thick stuff just as good as if not better then the Spro. Occasionally it did land on it's belly during the cast, yet a quick pop of the rod set it upright once again. I did have a few blow ups on it, but no takers. The top-water bite wasn't every productive over all. The downside......... fishing stunk!!!!!!!!! ;D Kinda tough fishing beds and pitching to cruisers w/a semi blind partner. Whom I like to add is a great guy and thankful for his patience, as well as being extremely grateful to him for toting me around all week! As far as testing it's ability to handle hawgs, that will have to wait until I return to Florida, or when the fishing picks up here in the North. Looking positively forward for the frog season to arrive
  5. PERCH PATTERN IN SPRING! PERCH PATTERN IN SPRING! PERCH PATTERN IN SPRING! PERCH PATTERN IN SPRING! ;)
  6. I have put in place a system where more or less weight can be added or taken away. Starting Friday, I'll have 9 days to test it in the thick stuff while in Florida.
  7. Here ya go Brandon. Still a bit tacky, but will have a lot more gloss once fully cured
  8. I hear ya Brandon. Just wish I didn't have to rush the paint job, after the amount of time I spent carving sanding, drilling and glueing.
  9. I'd be OK w/that ;D
  10. You guys ROCK! Extremely appreciated!!!!!!
  11. Oh no! Legal issues already :-/ ;D
  12. Underside & Top view
  13. I've been playing with the idea of a wooden topwater frog, why? don't really know myself. But, here's some pic's of the process. Paint and finish coat had to be rushed due to our Florida trip being moved up & wanted the finish to cure before the trip. Keep in mind this is just a prototype. There's a recessed eyelet ontop w/a clip in the hook grove to hlold in place during the cast and while swimming. Once a load is place on the hook it release from the clip. I've also installed a recessed eyelet on the underside for open water applications. The two bends of the side hooks are weedless due to the stomach protruding and works much like a weed gaurd. Again keep in mind it had to be rushed, and I will critique & refine when we return from Florida. Total weight is somewhere between 1/4 and a 1/2oz and body length is 3" w/o the skirt. It was all hand carved. Thought some of you might find this interesting.
  14. I've been trying to figure out how to dye/chnage color patterns on a 6" Huddleston, but having one heck of a time with longevity on the color. Not looking for something like Spike-it. Trying to add specific detail. I been told they are hand painted, which sounds weird to me. I would think they're dyed. Any help would be greatly apprciated. Thank you for your time!
  15. I think a the company that tried something similar was Illusion lures.
  16. Awesome Russ! I'll take-em!
  17. Thanks! The Pickerel is a sweet pattern w'/lots of detail! The Pickerel pattern takes quite some time to brush by hand, especially w/o a template. It's also the first Pickerel on I've ever seen on white walls ;D Eyelets to be relpaced
  18. http://www.tacklemaking.com/default.php?pageID=52 http://www.tacklemaking.com/default.php?pageID=39 http://www.make-your-own-fishing-lures.com/jig-molds.html Hope this helps memo
  19. Nice!!!!!!!! May I ask what the benifit is of the spiral wrap? Thanks
  20. I know ReelMechanic has literature as do others, yet I was wondering if there are any courses offered for this or is it pretty much a self taught & learn as you go? As always, thanks in advance for you help!
  21. Brandon, I found the link Just a Reminder; your rod warrant may be voided by modifying. Check w/the manufacturer to fiind out. http://www.georgescustomrods.com/split_your_grip.htm
  22. Very tough question! But, I voted soft plastics. It would have be either a 4" Berkley Chigger Craw, Geen Pumpkin,\ or Watermelon in clear water and Black Blue, Watermelon candy or Junbug in stained water. Rigged on a 3/16oz Pro Spot remover or T-rigged. Yet one of my other favorites is a drop shotted Robo worm in Arron's magic. In the spring I'll also throw a Matt lures perch, and all season long a 7" MS Slammer custom paint, in Rainbow Smelt or Shad pattern, all day looking for the biggun!
