  1. 17-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Canoeing Accident A deadly day on the Blackstone River, a dad and his teenage son out on a canoeing trip when something goes horribly wrong. The incident took place around 12:30 p.m. Sunday, when a 17-year-old boy fell into the water, his father frantically tried to save him,... 2. I wasn't refering to 3 ........2 & 1/4 hole boy wonder He's been in my jon plenty of times. Why does that sound so preverted? ;D
  3. Congrats on the PB's Alan! You are now an official member of the SBTF's club, welcome aboard! ;D
  4. Fished the Sawdy T w/a RIBASSPREDITOR/Carl and got my butt handed to me! I had hi hopes going in and on 4th cast I hook up w/a 2 1/4-2 1/2lb LM on the 9" Slammer. It was all down hill from there, Carl definately did his job and picked up 6 LM! I think we ended up in 5th out of 12 boats w/11+, 14+ won it. We had the opportunty to put other fish in the boat, but fell short. One of those lost fish could have put us in 1st. To be honest, I went in thinking how cool it will be to compete w/such skilled fishermen and here's my chance to make a good impression. What I didn't account for was my shaking knees, and the nerviosness that set in around these guys. I've leisurely fished w/Carl over the past week or so, in addition to T's that Joel and Chrlie Moore where fishing, feeling comfortable, confident and relaxed. Come T time today, it was a total different story and around 11:30 I started to scramble after 4 hours w/o a bite and never rediscovered my confidence. This is the 1st time I have ever experienced this. Though, they my not be the pro's, I admire them just the same and my hats off to them!!!!!!!!!! Carl, not that you need to hear this, ;D but your extremely good at what you do!!!!! I appreceate the invite, in addition to your patience! Used to think how great it would be to fish in a T w/ the pros, but now having seconds thoughts. I have such great respect for the pro's and would probably just end up star struck and more of a babbling idiot then I am now, if that's at all possible ;D Hope you all had a great day on the water.
  5. Hmmmmmmmmm? are we in deep thought Alan? Maybe thinking Tin's cranky and needs to get some? Or thinking the method to my madness might not be such a bad idea? What's that old saying?????????? Oh yeah, Keep your friends close and your competitors closer ;D You've been in this club awhile now and know better then I the skill level of theses guys. Rather then kick myself for losing to them, I chose to respect them and learn everything I can! Nobody likes to lose, yet how it affects your next outing against them is critical. It's more of a psychological battle then it is a physical one. I never go in thinking I'm gonna get my butt kicked, if I do it's over before it starts I used to get so frustrated after losing and let it affect me for days afterwads. Now I handle it like this; it's over, move on, and on the next outing, squash them like the bugs they are
  6. If you live in New England and never fished a jig, your missing out on some of the best fishing you'll ever do. Pick a day to go out on the water and bring only jigs, no other lures. Force yourself to throw them from start to finish. Flipping and pitching are my personal favorites. Though there are other times where swiming it, can be extremely productive as well. I'm still catching fish in 4" of h2o,some 4#'s and up. You'd be amazed at how shallow bass can be. Even if you think "There's no way a bass can be there", they are! Try to focus on rocks and wood, i.e..laydowns,brush piles tight to shore as well as of shore structure. At first just to build confidence start w/ wood & rock along the shoreline and then once you confident try some of the deeper off shore structure. My personal favorites are Revenge and Picasso jigs. In general, the size and color combo's I chose to throw in clear water are 1/4-3/8 oz,Black w/Green pumpkin or Brown twin tail trailer, Watermellon w/rootbear green fleck, and Green pumpkin w/ green pumpkin trailer. I used to experiment w/alot of different trailers, but now only use the Zoom twin tail fat albert or BPS Triple Ripple twin tail trailer. When I think the bass are looking for a bigger profile I'll switch to a Zoom chunk. In Stained water I'll sometimes use Black w/blue or ultra blue trailers, in addition to Green Pumpkin jigs w/ a touch of Chartreuse. Some other personal preferences are; I trim the skirt just to the bottom of the bend in the hook w. a pair of scissors, as well as trimming the weed gaurd , so it only extends a few millimeters above the hooks point. There is no real need to get fancy, just stick to the basics and you'll start sticking bass as well as never wanting to put the jig down. I'd be happy to take you out for a day of jig fishing only to help build your confidence, though a blind fold will be manditory ;D
  7. Used to think that, but after you replaced me with some hot blonde for the last 3 months , I had to find a stand in. He actually listen's to my fishing advice and he's learning rather quickly! ;D Just a few of our jig fish from yesterday that were in the 4lb range:) Paul it looks like your in love. Whats Jigga going to think? LOLOLOLOL Now, now boooys, don't be jealous, there's enough of me to go around ;) And by the way.......... #1) I could never fill Jigga's shoe's #2) I was told by Mikey or is that Micky? Anyway back on the subject. That I needed to have thick skin if I was going to be in Cheap Hookers. So, I'm learning from the best ;D #3) You won't fish out a crawdad or a jon-boat. #4) You don't throw swimbaits. Even if you did throw SB's, Hard hats are manditory when flinging the heavy stuff in the small boats, and they don't make a hard hat big enough to fit you head. #5) I look at you all the same way, friends, partners, fellow fisherman, as well as competitors. If I'm going to compete against fishermen at higher level then myself, then I need to learn a little bit from everyone. I've learned from Tin, from you and now a bit from Carl. It would b foolish to go into this not knowing my competitors, would it not? I can't thank you all enough for taking the time to share your knowledge, boats and friendship
  8. The only jinx would be having the 3 hole boy wonder on your boat...........oh wait????????? After his surgery I guess he will now be know as "the 2 1/4 hole boy wonder! ;D Good luck to you as well Anthony!
  9. Used to think that, but after being blown off by you for 3 months, I've found another partner that will actually listen to my fishing advice and strategy. He's learning rather quickly! ;D Just a few of our jig ish from yesterday one more. Hope to have some SB fish to post up after todays outing, as well as some from the T on Saturday Sorry Mike, my seperation anxiety is slowly but surely subsiding ;D

  11. ;D ;D I really need to stop buying all this pricey fishing gear, and invest in photoshop
  12. Keep chuckiin them jigs Alan! Other then top water and swimbaits, the jig bite is one of my favorite "THUMPS" to get!
  13. Unfrtunately Anthony,I have a T to fish, otherwise I'd be very interested in slinging the SB's on Worden's. I'm surprised the SB's are still working in a shalloow pond where the water is less stable. Let us know how you made out and post up some pic's.
  14. I'll have you know they are the rave and making a come back! Personally, I would have chose fire engine red Paul. I know that the club name is cheap Hookers but you can't wear your cooks pond outfit during our tournaments we don't want your freinds from the ramp parking lot following you to other lakes. ;D I think that I will have to make a rule against it and no T backs either it will be grounds for DQ we must think of the poor fish having to see that. LOL ;D FINE John!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll stick to my normal mid-summer garb!
  15. Very Nice Very Nice.. If he wants a lady, he need-a the "magnet" in his Hoomer. Which I found out can be very dangerous, especially when you have magnetized weights on your ceilling fan to balance the blades :-[
  16. BITE YOUR TONGUE! Cold weather he say......Haaaaaaaaa. I pee on the cold weather! > Of course then I have a peecycle ;D
  17. I'll have you know they are the rave and making a come back! Personally, I would have chose fire engine red
  18. Probably wanted to lube your Slammer
  19. Still wondering about swimbaits in the fall? Never, I mean never, take it off! 12 months a year
  20. So awful, so wrong, yet so funny...... ;D Glad somebody got the joke ;D
  21. Awww come on it wasnt that bad. I was out from 7-12. Heading back out now! 8:51 AM 39.0 °F winds N 26.5 mph Scattered Clouds Which puts the Windchill around 25-26* Yet a balmy 34* on arrival! Yeah, not bad at all ;D I was just trying to convince myself, lol. Yes the wind was the killer. My truck thermometer read 34 too. I was in Warwick right near the bay so the winds were even worse. I caught 4 Bass though. Got one on my new Mattlure Largemouth bass Swimbait. Nice! Big deal.....you got got bass, I got chafed! ;D Way to go!
  22. ;D ;D ;D ;D What are you laughing at? I think you need to be a little more sensitive to the sufferring of others! Why ya picking on me? I don't see you teasing Tin about his genitalia issues! Do I detect a little vaginal ***? You NSBTFTD! ;D
