RI State Freshwater Records. Which will fall 1st?
Species Weight Length Date Location Angler Largemouth Bass: 10 lbs., 6 oz. 24 ½" May1991 Carbuncle Pond N. Finamore, Johnston, RI Smallmouth Bass: 5 lbs., 15 oz 22 ½" Sept. 1977 Wash Pond B. Ferris, Wakefield, RI Chain Pickerel 6 lbs. 14 oz. 27 ¾" Aug. 2005 Beach Pond T. Egan,Hope Valley, RI It's that time of year agian for me when I attempt to knock off the state Smallie record. Around this time last year, I started seeking the SM record and came darn close in Janruary w/a 5.3lb. During one of these outings on the same body of water, w/o realizing it until I got home and checked the records,I broke the RI Pickerel record, :'( 7.8lb monster Starting this weekend, I'm going back for another try. Will it happen? Or will the records stay as is? Will they ever be broken? Will anyone ever beat the LM record? I think the LM record will stay as is for some time to come, but also believe the SM and Pickerel records are beatable.

Anyone going out Sunday in the rain?
Losing just makes me want to fish it more Hey Mike, had a great idea......... Rather then having the doctors close up that spider bite, you should have them open it by 1 miliimeter. You would then have a built in sheath to tuck it in

When is your season over????
When hell or the ramp freezes over. Which ever comes fist!

16 boat field I believe. 7+ won it on two fish, w/a 6+ as lunker. I think 2nd was over 5 on two fish and 3rd was 4+ on two fish. I only managed one fish @ 0.83 ;D Hey John, post up the results!

Materials needed for rod modification? Turning full cork handle into split grip
Wondering what I need to convert a full cork handle into a split grip? I'm guessing a sharp blade to remove the cork, and a fine grit sandpaper to smooth, and shape the cork I leave on. What's used to cover the remaining glue under the cork that can't be removed on the handle. Going to attempt this on an Avid. Is there any literiture on the process. Thanks in advance for your help!

MS Slammer, Rago Rat & Misc. fish
Here's a quick vid of the last few afternoon trips. Caught my first RI Pike on the Rago Rat. Not the biggest, 3.12lbs on the digi, but still alot of fun fighting him in the current. I have to teach the bestnetmanaround how to fill the screen when taking video and how to keep recording ;D Funny thing occured while out yesterday. Water was pretty darn cold, we see this snake swimming across the river and think "Wow never saw-em swim in such water temps". This is the main reason for the post! 25 yards or so down stream I see what I believe to be a small muskrat jump in on one side of the river and start swimming across to the otherside. As we get closer, I realize he looks a bit odd with something on it's back? Low and behold it's a grey squirrel ;D I've seen them fall out of trees and swim right back to shore, but I have never seen them swim in such cold water, never mind going against current like this, which is about 30 yards across, Pretty cool to see. http://s288.photobucket.com/albums/ll179/arrighiespainting1/?action=view¤t=bstn.flv
