Experts believe that the snakehead entered our waters through the aquarium and live fish food trade. The snakehead fish presents a considerable threat to lake ecosystems and native wildlife, and it is illegal to import or distribute this species. There have been two reports of adult snakeheads in MA, but there are currently no known breeding populations. If you catch a potential snakehead, do not release it: call DCR or DFG immediately. Snakeheads have elongated tan bodies with dark mottling. They can grow over 3 feet long and weigh up to 15 pounds. These voracious top level carnivores have large mouths lined with sharp canine teeth and feed on native fish, frogs and other aquatic wildlife. Snakehead fish are able to breathe air, and if they remain moist, can survive out of water for several days. Snakeheads have been reported to cross land by wiggling and/or by using their pectoral fins, although these attempts are often unsuccessful. Once my truck's electrical issues are straighted out, I want to put together a 5 boat (car topper ony) trip to pond X. So you know ahead of time, you will be putting in and crossing one small pond first and then porting your boats over a sand dune(50') in order to get into Pond X. Date coming soon!

As long as it's advertised as a swimbait it could be used. I'm booked solid until October. 9/13 prefish Long pond ,9/20 Long Pond T,9/27 My Stafford T. Looks like a Spring SB T for me, though I did ask Carl if he wanted to take it over and set a new date. I'm considering having a T on Belville in early October. Belville is a trolling motor only pond, but has some huge fish. Lost a couple over 6lbs on the Hudd :'( and this is where my PB of 7+ came in March of 2007.

We pick four ponds, putem in a hat and draw one. I vote Pond X Take away the big boats and load the live-wells w/3 and 4lb Smallies How about Long Pond,Harwich or Wequaqet? 8-) BTW John, what's w/picking boy wonder? It went something like this, I think? I did the best I could trying to keep up at the wiegh in. Over 20 fish were brought to the scale. 1st, 8.8lbs,5 fish(Mickey Mouse)John C ;D 2nd, 7.14lbs, 5 fish,Kevin(WTRDOG) & Cigarlover 3rd and 4th, 4.6lbs,2 or 3 Fish, Brandon(Bestnetmanaround)/,4lbs,3 fish,1 dead,Team hole or the other way around :-/ I was walking a SM back to the livewell........shake,flip, kaplunk on to the seat and then flipped over board. ;D John, The gentlemen he is,didn't get in Lunker,but came in with a 2.6lber. Munich from NEF came in with 1 LM which ended up being lunker @ 2.4lbs. Had a good time, thanks to Masssilversrte4 for bringing some mighty fine grub and the grill! Thanks to Kevin for putting this together! Thanks to Tin for letting me borrow the "DEATH TRAP"! ;D I am officially issueing a challenge to John and Kevin! Sorry I haven't replied sooner. The girls wouldn't let me leave and I just got home. Heading out to Stafford in 30 minutes so I gotta keep this short. Thanks to everyone who particapated! That comet we saw was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Though it did expose a bit more of the girls then expected ;D Maybe at the next one we should actually fish and not let the girls distract us

Cooking is allowed at the picnic area next to the ramp. No parking fee after 5PM. Ranger said there has hardly been anyone on the lake all day! See ya there!

To many people have other obligations on this date and there's not enough particapants for this one.

I know they'll have an issue cooking at the ramp, but as Kevin stated there's a pinic area 100' from the ramp which would probably OK to cook at. Not sure on this one, but it is a state forest and there's normally designated areas for BBQing. Not trying to be a buzz kill here, yet I also don't want the 1st permit I pull to be the last. What can I bring to the feast? It's dark by 8PM the boat will be in the water by 7:15.

Ramp is on Wallum Lake Rd. Once you see the gaurd shack bear left before it to ramp. If anyone needs directions let me know your address and I'll post directions for you tonight after work.
