I considered that, since I have those linesman pliers in my boat, but it popped right out. I was laughing at George turning green, but it did hurt like hell.
  2. You need to give up a budget. This OK PBG was about $2000, fully rigged:
  3. Uhhh, I think he's just asking if the Viscious line is garbage or not, not whether it will help him catch more, bigger fish. It's just a simple question. I haven't used either line. Power Pro has served me well over the years. I may try out the 832. I have a couple of friends that swear by the Tuff Line. Line choice is VERY personal. Sometimes you just gotta try it and find out if its the right match for you.

Never missed a beat, LOL. "George, can you grab the trolling motor up front, while figure out what to do with this hook in my toe." I though George was gonna pass out. It made the same "pop" coming out of my toe that a bass's mouth does. Normally, I'd be grossed out by it, but it's my toe so... Remember your tetanus shots, kiddies!
  5. You never know what's hiding in those rails, LOL. I was shocked. What a mess. Glad I started fresh.
  6. If the lights still work, the wiring harness is less than $10 for a 25' 4-pin kit. No point in replacing something that works. Use this, or whatever hook up you have, with the indicator lights to tell you if your hook up is working properly: Or this:
  7. I'd rather buy a whole used rig that checked out than re-powering with another make outboard.

A smallie put a crankbait treble in big toe early in my tx on Sunday. I ripped it out with pliers, and fished to take second.
  9. Fireline like caveman rope....outdated! I'm just getting to the point that i can accept that Fireline works and is quieter, though breaks too easily on zebes, and dodge has me stopping at the 832 endcap at Gander, LOL. My bud is using 20# 832 on his finesse rig, and loves it. Color is fading fast on it though.
  10. Not my 1st choice in rods, but that combo will work. I have that rod, and for a few more bucks there is much better out there. Think Saint Croix Premier, Abu Vendetta, Falcon Buccoo, etc. Huge leap in sensitivity when you jump to that $80 to $100 range in rods.
  11. Nothing. They are brand names for essentially the same fiber. The lines however, have their own traits, due to the weaving process.
  12. Don't know, but it's a simple rewire job. Just use the old wires to snake the new ones through. I just wired mine - solder and heat shrink all the way, with new LED tail lights. Took me about three hours, and I'm a rookie.
  13. The Prodigy shares MUCH more than just the braking systenm....iut's basically a Tierra with different paint and a Cabela's sticker.
  14. Then you got a good one - that's way I believe they should work. However, time after time, Quantum has proven to me that they simply cannot put a consistent quality product. These are expensive reels, and for two (two different models at that, a 100 and a 150!) to be horribly crappy is just plain bad. It stinks, because on paper it should be an awesome reel. The bearings are all quality. The gears are solid. The drag on the 150 is impressive - nice carbon fiber, multi-disk design. The ported crank shaft is a thing of beauty that no one will see. They even skip out on the stupid hot sauce crap lube. Put it all together? Crap. Why? What is wrong with these reels? They hiss when they spin. On the cast, there's an uneven noise that oscillates with spool speed. I thought it was the brakes, but no. The gears grind on the retrieve - no matter what, and I've tried three different lubes on them. The 100 won't freespool for more than a turn when you flick it. Most reels I can get to spin for 10 or more seconds on the flick. At first, both would skip when you tried to engage the spool. A cleaning and proper lube took care of that. Ridiculous. Shall I continue? This is just the 1st two reels I laid my hands on. Perhaps it's a coincidence, and my friend had bad luck, and bought the only two bad reels. I'm glad yours (and anyone else that bought them without issues) work well. If they work, they are badass Chronarch Mg/Fuego/Premier killers.
  15. Those lakes are all on my chip, and it's from 2004.
  16. Keitech does: http://www.***.com/Keitech_Tungsten_Super_Football_Jig_Head/descpage-KSFBJH.html
  17. I've gone back to them. They still work the best, and contrary to what many believe, they do not nick the line. Heck, I peg beads on 4# fluoro for double digit steelheads in winter. A puny bass on 20# fluoro isn't going to break the line.
  18. That reel has been around a year or so. It's a tank. Not sure it's even meant for bass fishing - it's got some serious line capacity for a low pro. Add in a monster drag system as well.
  19. If I know there are other boats nearby, and I'm trying to manage the spot, I get stealthy. I may even complain to other guys how bad the fishing is at that spot.
  20. We do stuff like that all the time. If we're not in a tournament, there's usually three or four boats, all fishing close together. Intentional line crossing, plunking my tin boat with sinkers, even snagging rods off the other guy's deck is BAU. I think because we're all so intense on tournament day, we keep it loose when fun fishing.
  21. They foul easier. The split rings are the reason I use the snaps - snaps are the replacement. Probably 2/3 of my cranks have snaps on them already. Reminds me to retie often.
  22. Dou Lock snaps, in #2 and #3 sizes. Remove the split rings.
  23. Some more pics, from Tim's camera. Includes some fish from his "multi species bucket list rampage," LOL. Funny Story about that wake bait..... Jim Jr.: "What are throwing? You are destroying the smallies and walleye with it!" I cast my bait onto Jim's deck. He then picks it up, cuts it off, and ties it on his rod. Jim Jr.: "Thanks!" One more of the crew, including Kase.
  24. There are some restricted lakes here that allow bigger motors to idle only. Some require they be wrapped and not used at all. Some you're not allowed to launch. It's up to you to know the specifics of the rules before launching. It's just like speed limits or no wake rules on a lake.
  25. Senkos. Dean's Cove.
