anybody "snell" their T-rig hooks?
I snell them. Works great, easy to tie. Here is an article by a friend of mine: http://www.burniehaney.com/News.html Five or six turns with fluoro/mono, and 8-10 with braid. There are links to videos on tying the knot at the bottom. As far as the better hook up deal, I can't verify that. I use the snell because its easy to tie, strong, and the knot itself becomes a bait keeper.

Respool over the winter?
Just treat the spools with KVD Line & Lure, and fish them in spring.

Taking off Side Plate on Baitcaster
I checked my junkyard, and there is a Pinnacle reel in there. Same deal, remove the palm side plate, and there is a body screw behind the spool. There is no latching device on this reel, the palm side plate simply twists counter-clockwise on a righty reel, with a simple interference fit.

Taking off Side Plate on Baitcaster
Based on that, I'm not sure you should be working on these....but, yes, if the screw is behind the spool, then you must remove the spool. To do that, you'll have to remove the palm side plate.

Here's another perspective, written by a friend: http://www.burniehaney.com/News.html. I've used both the Gam. Octopus Hooks, and Owner SSW with great success.

Taking off Side Plate on Baitcaster
You didn't say which Flooger model, but you're probably looking for a screw behind the spool, that engages the crank side cover plate. It isn't clear what you're asking for with the Pinnacle.

Shaving
Shave after the shower. Beard hair will be soft. If you're going to shave daily, go with the grain. Otherwise, against the grain can buy you an extra day. Use shaving lotion instead of cream. Only takes a tiny amount. Keep the blades fresh. I use old school Gillete dual blades, they work fine.

What do you use when fishing HIGHLY PRESSURED city lakes?
I've read this as well. My question has always been, when do they forget the negative relationship?

MARK McGUIRE
Yeah, I dont think steroids were actually BANNED when McGwire was juicin'....were they? They got banned after the fact if I remember right. I wonder if Jose Canseco is paranoid when he walks down the street? He should be. ;D Any illegal drug use is "banned." These were illegal drugs at the time.

Fishing After A Shad Kill
We don't have threadfin. Am. Shad, Gizzard, Hickory, and Alewife. Every ice out, there are tons of Am. shad die offs. Big ones, too. Its a catfish feeding fest.

Loose Screw Eyes in a Wood CB -are they strong enough?
I have taken many of my grandfathers old Heddon Wooden Bassers from the 70s and brought them up to modern spec, so to speak. On the screws, back them out, and put a bit of Gorilla Glue on the threads, and then get them back in. Anywhere there is an eye bolt, I've added an oval split ring, and then a hook. I cut the old hooks off. I also deleted the center hook on many of the larger baits. I may have "devalued" these lures by doing so, but I don't actually care. They are worthless to me, if they aren't being used. Its cool to think that these baits have caught fish over the course of over 30 years.

left handed rods
Actually, you can have a right or left handed rod custom built, but I doubt that is what the OP was asking.... http://www.mudhole.com/Shop-Our-Catalog/Custom-Handle-Systems/Cobra-Handle-System The only ones I've ever seen were on steelhead drift rods.

MARK McGUIRE
Anyone with kids that are involved in or watches sports can take this new as yet another opportunity to bring up the subject of PEDs, and drugs in general. Its easier for me, as a parent to tie these discussions/life lessons to a current event. Otherwise, it sounds like I'm lecturing.

Winter Wonderland
I have a section on my front porch that loves to dam up, and eat the gutter for lunch. Absolute PITA. Its not as bad with the new roof, but its still there. If it gets more than 8", I sprinkle a little ice melter up there on a sunny day. Not the ideal solution, but whatever bad things the ice melter does is certainly not worse than my gutter laying on the ground in spring, water in my basement, and a leaking roof, LOL.

Difference between shakey head and jig?
No waders, but slick aviator sunglasses, LOL. North of B-pond huh? I think I know which one - "Sneak Under the Fence" pond. They've added another, almost connecting pond directly west. Its got some nice structure. And yes, up here, a jig was a bucktail. What we call "jigs today" were arkey heads to us. I know there are many designs, but those and the Stanleys were all about anyone could get up here.

Winter Wonderland
I think we got 24" or so last week, LOL. Watch out for ice damming on the shorter soffets.
