  1. LOL, two Revos, I don't care what flavor <> either of the other reels in any regard. And good price on those, get the Shimano, simply for the warranty.
  2. You are paying too much for the Ito. I'd still choose an Ito, I have one, plus two Sols, and an Alphas.
  3. So I take you guys suspicious about genetic experiments are all against the TPWD Share a Lunker program? :-? Although tiger musky hybrids can occur naturally, the record ice fishing tiger was stocked.
  4. And to answer the original post... 1. He fishes there all the time, he would know. 2. Couldn't care less. We know of at least a couple of MODERN day fish that are bigger than Perry's fish. 3. I've "herded" schools of baitfish with the outboard during a tournament. Was I "cheating?" If it isn't against the law, it isn't cheating. BTW, do you think that feeding stocker rainbows to bass, and fishing a trout swimbait as cheating?
  5. I hear that all the time, and to an extent, I agree., but......then neither are any of the bass caught in CA, or the record rainbow trout, or the record tiger musky, or the record brown trout, or ....on and on and on. Record Fish always seem to be more about the fish, and that's a shame. The story should be about the angler. Its an angler achievement.
  6. P-Line Fluorocarbon = 100% Fluorocarbon P-Line CX Prem = Fluorocarbon Coated P-Line CXX = Xtra Strong Fluorocarbon Coated CXX=underrated line in it's LB test break strength. When you are buying a box of 10lb you are getting a box of 12 or 14lb line. Diameter and all. Compared to what? Trilene XT? That's what I'd use as a "benchmark." So buy by diameter. BTW, it isn't as overrated as many claim, you should check the data. Stated Strength/XT dia. in mm/CXX dia. in mm 6/.25/.23 - whoops! Its actually smaller! 8/.31/.30 - whoops! Its actually smaller! 10/.33/.35 - larger, but not as large as XT 12 12/.36/.37 - larger, but not as large as XT 14 14/.38/NA, though 15# is .40 17/.43/.41 - whoops again! and on down the line..... So you can see that you made an exaggeration. :
  7. There is nothing in a Revo S that needs to oiled after every use.
  8. Based on the hardware, positioned above the Cumera line. Right now though, details are nebulous, LOL.
  9. Isn't that what they said about the World Trade Center...? Yes, but not a jet as large as a 767.
  10. The only thing that counts is going undefeated in the post season. Anything preceding that is what got you there. As far as the Miami 17-0 season.....hmmm. Not much comparison, things were different, and perhaps MORE difficult then, even with the shortened regular season. Not much free agency, no salary cap, less parity, less teams, more concentrated talent.
  11. Basic spool bearing maintenance is shown here, on p. 1 http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/customer_service0/reel_maintenance_instructions.download.-mainParsys-0001-downloadFile.html/Maintenance%20Tips-%20Baitcasting%20Reels%20%282%20pages%29.pdf For the rest, leave it to a pro.
  12. We used to use one to send our daily changing livestock price/availability list to our customers. Saved us hours. There were legitimate uses for the device, unfortunately some abused it.
  13. How hard would it be for manufacturers to build a stinkin' digital scale into their reels so we could accurately tell how big that one that got away was?
  14. I don't think you need the "perfect spinnerbait rod" to throw spinnerbaits, but I also think it depends on what you like to throw, and where. I toss smaller baits with an Avid AVC62MXF, in a style I would call "sniper spinnerbaiting," targeting small holes in weeds, dock pilings, and other cover. For most other spinnerbait work, like burning and slow rolling, A St. Croix LTB70MF works fine. For stroking truly huge and heavy spinnerbaits, an Avid AVC70MHF works great.
  15. P-Line Fluorocarbon = 100% Fluorocarbon P-Line CX Prem = Fluorocarbon Coated P-Line CXX = Xtra Strong Fluorocarbon Coated I don't see this info listed anywhere. As far as I knew, CXX is simply a copolymer, not a FC coated line. Could be wrong, but it doesn't "act" like a FC coated line.
  16. I've never been in ANY jon boat that's as stable and as useful as a proper fishing kayak. Noisy, metal dinosaurs, LOL.
  17. My boats: OK PBG, totally outfitted: Freedom 12, bare necessities: Sit on tops (SOT) lend themselves to rigging and fishing quite well. There are other "hybrid" style boats that fish well, too. The Wilderness Systems Commander is one.I may be getting one of these as well. A few others you can't go wrong with: Moken Angler 12, Ride 135, Tarpon 120, Redfish 12.
  18. Any 2500 series will work for finesse. The most important part is that the reel have a multi washer drag system.
  19. Parasite Clips: Parasite Weights: For me, they are too much hassle, and unnecessary.
  20. I basically use line weight to determine what I'm going to use. < 8 = spinning, >8 = baitcasting. some really light jigworms/shaky head baits don't behave well on heavier line, so that's a consideration as well, on top of my "skipping Senko" thoery.
  21. As big as the tank in the Orlando Bass Pro? LOL
  22. 6-8, 3/4 Outcast RT Jig in blue/black with a black Zoom Super Chunk trailer. Just prespawn, 3rd pitch to a laydown.
  23. Its this: http://www.btsproducts.com/
  24. I wouldn't say its a "factory tune" type of deal, but no reel fits so perfectly on a Zillion rod as a Zillion reel. The reel seat was designed with palming the reel in mind, and its place so that it is well balanced as well.
