Correct line type
Buy once, cry once. Get a good fluorocarbon, not some bargain line. Fluorocarbon will last you several seasons. I've gone 5 with Invisx and 4 with Tatsu (still going...). UNLESS: You absolutely have to use topwater like a popper or spook that requires pauses in the presentation. In that case, I'd recommend a quality copolymer. My go to is P-Line CXX, but it's not a beginner line. That is the other question: if you're just starting out, just get a decent mono like Big Game, until you're proficient, then upgrade to fluoro. In all cases, get KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. Treat the spool with a few squirts when you fill it, and let it dry over night. Retreat after every trip, and your line will last, and stay supple.

Sounds like some rebranding, and not much else.

North East Bass Fishing -Do you use white lures (spinner baits, chatterbaits, etc) ?
Shad are basically herring, and besides hickory shad, we have several types of herring and alewives. There is also American Shad that get huge - too huge for typical bass to eat. I'd say, outside of a pond environment, non spiney fish make up a very large part of bass diet. Another fish that is important in northern bass diet is ciscoe. All that said, at the end of the day, pretty much the only color spinnerbait I fish is white or primarily white. I wouldn't rule out mimicking blue gill, baby bass, and definitely craw colors, but drawing on that limited selection is very close minded. In fact, all of my crank baits, save for a few, are American Shad color or some variation of that.

Guess the weight of this fish…
As a programmer myself, I corrected this for you. Also, it isn't our job to find fault with our code, that's testers job 😂😂😂

Reel Maintenance...
My feelings, as long as it isn't Hot Sauce, don't over think it. ReelX and CorrosionX are excellent products. I use ReelX in all line roller bearings and the large crank stack bearing on crank side cover.

Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
I said I didn't know what it was. It isn't a bottom dweller, because it's not 3/4 of an ounce. I have some heavy baits with the weight on the shank. This isn't one of them. That wasn't the point of the photo. No one needs to identify it to understand the point of my post. Is the air thin in here? At second glance, there may be something on the hook. If so, it's a bass dozer bait I won over a decade ago.

Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
It's 1/2 or 5/8 oz. Not a chance it's 3/4. The head isn't wide enough. There's a couple 3/4 oz. baits and a 1 oz. in the background. Pro Tip: Heavy baits aren't just for deeper water. They're great to burn at mid depths as well.

Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
@gimruis Sounds like your experience is based on using a trailer hook that was too big. I'm in WNY - we have weeds too. The bait should look like shown below. There's a ton of things on a spinnerbait that can catch weeds. The trailer is still completely protected by the same design elements that protect the main hook. Don't ask what brand this bait is, can't remember, lol. Often a little pop clears them, and can draw strikes.

Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
When they helicopter is when it's the worst.

Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
That hasn't been my experience at all. If you leave the hook free swinging in the same direction as the main hook, it is as snag proof as without. To my point, I turn to a spinnerbait first when encountering laydowns and submerged wood. I can assure you, this is a problem made up by people that don't use trailers.

One word of advice that changed your fishing career
Why is that feeling of a fish spitting your jig more defined than picking it up? Man that's the worst.

Braid for Spinnerbaits/Buzzbaits?
Once you get your braid twisted around a blade you'll see why it isn't the best for this. Otherwise, it actually seems like a sensible choice. The lack of stretch makes driving a fairly large, thick hook home easier. For the missed fish described above, I wonder if those fish were crashing the blades. You'll lose fish every time they do this. A trailer hook solves it. If you are using a trailer hook, and it is hooking the fish in the chin, that will confirm they are crashing the blades. Otherwise, I don't think you did anything really that wrong.

One word of advice that changed your fishing career
A couple guys in a bass boat pulled two decent fish out of the slop next to our dock. I asked them how they were able to fish those weeds and one showed me a Texas rig. They gave me some bullet weights and weedless hooks. A whole new world opened up to me. That was probably 40 years ago.

Hooks rusting out?
- Can somebody help me identify the color on this pre-rap Mag Wart?
I have no idea, but that's super cool.- Hooks rusting out?
You mean like cigarettes?- How important is your line?
Unless I have to saw through the slop or need the line to mostly float, I prefer heavy fluorocarbon to braid. It actually picks up less junk because it mostly slides off the smooth line.- Hooks rusting out?
The perforated boxes absolutely, 100% work perfectly. I've used them for over a decade, and still use them. I've always resisted waterproof boxes, because I'm not sure you want water trapped in the box once it gets wet. That said, I've been using an Edge terminal box for a few years now, and it does keep water out, and as long as you dry it out completely, no rust issues at all. The best solution to rust is to do what you can to prevent it. Knowing how long you can procrastinate taking care of your gear is just gonna lead to failure. Stuff happens, and you don't get to it in time, and then you're cooked.- How important is your line?
That's kind of an existential question. It isn't important at all to me when I'm on the water. I pick the best line for the job, in the right size, for the right cover so I can forget about it.- What is up with Facebook Marketplace…
I have my best results selling fishing stuff right here. I've NEVER had a bad interaction or transaction. I would wager being a mod here for 13 years probably chased the tire kickers away, but I think it's a pretty decent way to unload stuff or get stuff at a better price.- What is up with Facebook Marketplace…
Pic for attention! FB is a cesspool. I've sold there, but it has always been fairly high ticket items and I don't entertain clowns. - Can somebody help me identify the color on this pre-rap Mag Wart?
