Help with huge cold front, I’m worried ..
Got the the same thing here in ROC! Let the dogs out, and there was a mini blizzard. Wonderful. Spring in WNY is so frustrating.

junk fishing - five lures
Same five baits I always use, unless I'm fishing deep for smallies. Covers everything from slop to deep ledges.

junk fishing - five lures
My general rotation that works for waters I frequently fish is: Spinnerbait Texas Rig Plastic Jig Senko or Fluke Crankbait

If You Had To Choose One Line LB Test
Oh jeez, I'd be jonesing for anything fishing at that point!

junk fishing - five lures
Junk fishing just means rotating through baits and cover each cast. It's the opposite of pattern fishing.

If You Had To Choose One Line LB Test
Pretty simple answer: I wouldn't. 6# for spinning, 15# for baitcasting, if I had to pick one. Let's face it, the world isn't ending, and there's plenty of sizes available, so use what fits your fancy. This feels like a mid January topic.

Help with huge cold front, I’m worried ..
This, very much so, especially the wind. It causes the water to mix, and can move warmer off shore, or concentrate it on shore. Erie temp off shore today, according to USGS is 35. Lake Ontario is 38. Prespawn and spawn are a ways off. Usually happens around mid/late May through late June. I've seen them spawn as late as mid July.

"Stay Home" Dogs
We had a newfy that we shaved every summer. It definitely made the heat more comfortable for him.

Pond fishing lures
And I'm thinking about fish I've caught that are over six, not dinks. There's a couple I can cast bank to bank. Most are about twice that. I rarely cast out to the center anyway. I've caught so many over six from some small waters, that I have to disagree it's ALL about depth. There's other factors at play. A pond that typically produces runts has some mitigating circumstances as well.

Pond fishing lures
I don't downsize. In fact, ponds are where I throw some of my largest baits.

Loosing about 10 yds of distance between flouro & copoly
Naphtha works fine. I used it for years. Acetone is better. Someone here turned me on to it years ago.

trying to sharpen hook points
They are mostly chemically sharpened.

Help with huge cold front, I’m worried ..
We're not even close to spawn, let alone ruining it. Just fish.

Loosing about 10 yds of distance between flouro & copoly
Use beautician grade acetone if you want the least amount of residue.

Loosing about 10 yds of distance between flouro & copoly
You probably just need to knock the rust off your casting technique. Happens every spring for me.

Going to grab this setup weds, what do you think?
If it's your first time using braid, I would not go below 50#. Otherwise, it looks like a decent set up.

Finding a good backpack
Sarcasm? Lol, I haven't even opened that can up. There's a reason what you are looking for doesn't exist - no demand. If you are looking to keep anything cold, RTIC or Yeti are your best options. If you're looking for a tackle stiarage with rod holders and bait storage, take a look at Plano. Good luck, rook.

Prayers for mom
Awe man, I hope she feels better soon. It's a terrible time for this. My queen's mom went in for cancer surgery last week. Everything seems fine, but it's a nail biter when you're in the middle of it.

Finding a good backpack
Throw your big bass back, and there are a myriad of backpack options that will work. If you want to eat fish, get some tilapia fillets at the market.
