  1. A uni works great with fluoro and is easier for some to tie.
  2. I started practicing with big gallon plastic pitcher. Now I use a coffee mug. I still practice every spring and I've been using casting gear for 40 years. Catt's advice to put your targets in some kind of cover or obstacle is spot on.
  3. Three things: stop backlashing try mono in a heavier size work on your knot tying
  4. I use both MXF and MLXF for drop shot. It all depends on the weight of the sinker.
  5. It's not really time on the water as much as its contiguous trips to the same water. Take a few weeks to figure out what is going on. Once you feel good about it, try another location or lake.
  6. You could see if Smooth Drags offers a quantity discount. They are a small family run operation that offers quality bearings. You want their SS bearings. Call and get all to Dawn.
  7. I use the usual suspects - fat ikas, senkos, jigs. Years ago I was skipping a sammy quite a bit. It's a high risk cast, but you get a quiet slurp from a monster, and it's worth it.
  8. lol, you been holding onto that for four years now. Feel better? 😀
  9. 70 right now, might snow later this week.
  10. I've often found that deeper fish (>12') are less affected by weather unless it's so rough you can't fish, but then I wouldn't know anyway.
  11. I think @Catt's point is that there isn't really a boiler plate answer. It helps to provide some (doesn't have to be all) parameters.
  12. I was vey close to making a purse and belt post but I usually reserve that for clothes threads. lol.
  13. Yeah, we may be breaking record highs by Tuesday. It was 20 this morning. 54 when I got out of work.
  14. I've been silver/white, silver/blue, silver/wood, blue/black, and blue/black cherry.
  15. Wunderground is cool because you can look at specific weather stations.
  16. 75, low pressure, intermittent drizzle and sunshine, no wind at all. I get to fish in that all the time.
  17. We will likely be breaking the record high today again, but temps will plummet into the 20s by around 7 pm. Absurd.
  18. Pop them off inside a big zip loc bag.
  19. Female mice are ready to conceive like 20 minutes after giving birth.
  20. It was 73 here today.
  21. Weird. Wordle has been giving me fits. I get stuck after two guesses. Wordle 970 3/6* ⬛🟨⬛🟨⬛ ⬛⬛🟨⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Connections Puzzle #248 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟦🟦🟦🟦 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟪🟪🟪🟪

  23. I just used waterproof connectors and inline fuse from a boat store. The battery goes in a dry bag with the power line coming out the top. All the wires for the TD and head are tucked away, above board. Simple, but has worked for years.
  24. Wordle 961 4/6* ⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟨⬛⬛🟨 ⬛⬛🟩🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Connections Puzzle #239 🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟪🟪🟪🟪 🟦🟦🟦🟦
