  1. I'm coming armed with a cane pole and a hot dog on a gold hook. It's gonna be a beat down.
  2. 3/8 is my most common. I'll go as low as 18 and as high as 2.
  3. @WRB your story is so similar to mine. My grandfather let me keep it and showed me how to fillet it. It tasted terrible. I'm not sure it was the guilt affecting my taste buds or what.
  4. Gen 1 heliums are what broke. The last man standing, a flipping stick broke off in front of the reel seat on a dink. I'm not super gentle with my gear, but I've only broke 3 or four out of the 50+ from various brands since. One of those was identified as a flaw during preproduction from a process issue in making the blank. It was a Pinnacle and they resolved the issue. Its replacement is one of my favorite rods now.
  5. Not test driving is just as bad.
  6. @Functional hole shots are about torque and lift from the prop. HP isn't always the cure, though more is always better, lol. You might consider re-propping over re-powering to get a better hole shot. It's a ton less expensive. In my old Bullet, a 27 cupped 4-blade got me up on plane in less than three seconds at around 16-17 mph. A three blade polished and plugged 31 took what seemed a mile and forever to get on plane, but ran another 8 or mph faster at WOT trimmed out properly. I realize this isn't totally related, but could be helpful.
  7. One rod… I had 8. All 8 broke during normal use. They did nothing to fix the situation. This was more than a decade ago. Anything they could try now would be too late. As for the clown show, do little deep googlin' to see. The internet is forever.
  8. No one over the age of 12 is a fan.
  9. Those craw crank baits all imploded on save for one color. I still have those. I bought every model in every color they looked so good.
  10. April Fools! Wordle 1,017 6/6* ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟨 ⬛⬛🟨⬛⬛ 🟨⬛⬛⬛🟨 ⬛🟩🟩🟩⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩⬛ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Connections Puzzle #295 🟨🟨🟨🟨 🟪🟩🟩🟪 🟦🟦🟪🟦 🟦🟦🟩🟦 🟩🟦🟦🟦 This better not be a thing
  11. If brand disloyalty means avoiding something you trusted in the past and won't even consider now, then I have a few: Live Target Kistler Quantum Bandit
  12. I have a 30+ year old 33 Classic and a Daiwa Goldcast. They're both fantastic reels for what they are. Allows anyone unskilled with baitcasting gear to fish with a proper rod. The transition to a bait caster is easier as well.
  13. No, don't format. Those recovery programs will sometimes even read a disk that can't be mounted as drive. I've read off a hard drive that spun but was totally dead to the OS.
  14. I've used photorec to recover image files from corrupt SD cards. That, or something similar should do it. Be warned, even if you formatted before your most recent capture, any older files that weren't overwritten by new data may show up. It's a little creepy, but highlights the fact that formatting doesn't completely erase the old data and merely prepares the device for new data.
  15. My next boat is likely to be a Caymas, though not a bass boat. They're quality.
  16. I can't completely discount reports of tearing, but in at least 20 years of using Owner cutting point hooks, I really haven't seen a problem or trend that would make me change what I use.
  17. An egg carton would work. I use a muffin pan. If you have to stop mid way, cover it with plastic wrap.
  18. Jeez Tom @WRB stop talking about purple anything, lol. Seriously though, that's about the worst kept secret. I think you can get by with the oversimplification of color choices, but let's face it, that can be boring. Don't let it hinder you from trying a few different colors. Besides, it's good for business.
  19. Any ML/F or ML/XF rod around 7' will work. The line choice of 8# Yo-Zuri is a hindrance. That's why it's getting more focus than the rod selection.
  20. Smaller diameter line, whether braid or not will help greatly. I don't go any higher than line in the 6# for fluoro and not less than 10# for braid. As for the rod, you'll get a ton of suggestions. My new stock answer is get an extra-medium power and slow-fast taper. 😝
  21. With temps in the high 50s next couple of days, I'm not bothering with the shoveling.
