  1. Was it a smallie?
  2. I've fished both, and for me fishing was better on Kensico, but that was a decade ago. In order to really do well, you need to have access to a boat. The regular crew that fishes there are notoriously tight lipped, and very skeptical of new people. I would prefer to have a boat on Croton. There are tons of rules for the ressies. I would be fishing one of the boat storage spots, and trying to meet and make friends with someone with boat access. You could also reach out to Outcast Bass Club http://outcastbass.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 They are a solid group of guys. If you do, reach out to Dennis, "Big D." Tell him I said hey man!
  3. I would totally roll with a pink OB.
  4. I'll say. It really WAS about the money.
  5. I've definitely had a bass pick up a jig, after missing the strike, and feeling it spit the jig. Seconds later I got a bite, and set the hook. Maybe it was a different fish, hard to know. It was 4+ and on a prime spot in a pond.
  6. If you look carefully, the chimney starter is smoking. There may have been a Genny Light in my hand, off camera
  7. Congratuslations! Looking forward to your contributions. Enjoy!
  8. Order it, and go fishing. It'll be fine for one weekend.
  9. Myself included!
  10. It's a trolling motor, for goodness sake, not a cure for herpes. My dog is a Shiba Inu mix, lol. She gives me that look all the time.
  11. Why do they always use suspense movie music when dropping new products?
  12. None, if fishing vertically. In fact, too light is a hindrance. Most times, you want to keep the bait in one place, and let the water add the action.
  13. GYCB Shad Shaped Worm (sinker), Jackall Crosstail Shad (floater), and Roboworm (Floater) are three I have good success with. I have a few bags of the YUM Killshot, and it looks awesome. Can't tell you if ti floats or not since I haven't fished them yet.
  14. They're super easy to repair. Look it up on the youtubes!
  15. 6# Tatsu, 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4 oz. Heavier for vertical drops, or when you want to keep the bait in place. #1 Gamakatsu Drop/Split Shot or Owner Mosquito hooks. Any small wormy or fishy shaped bait. Here's the important part: when you want to do nothing, pick a floating bait. When you want to add the jiggle, pick a sinking bait.
  16. The devil's lettuce. LOL. The view from my deck.
  17. I get my kix from the local skate shop, but you can order online, too: https://www.krudco.com/collections/footwear I generally stick to the discount rack, but I did spring for the DC Lynx reissue. Most often, sneakers are $45-80. If you're not skating them, they last forever and offer good support. I personally recommend Etnies Fader or Marano and Vans Pro Sole Suede.
  18. Pink is my second favorite color, after green. In just about every other culture, pink is masculine. That reel is lit. I'd fish with it.
  19. This! Here's one way to catch a finicky bass on a bed. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/dropshot-bedding-bass.html
  20. I heard you the first time.
  21. Get another kit, do both sides.
  22. Ned Kehde from In-Fisherman. It was a way to reuse broken senkos.
