  1. The stuff I'm referring to is not going to be on the map. You're going to have to graph it, marking anything unusual with way points, as well as any fish you catch. Once you get a bunch of way points and fish points, you may be able to see the larger picture.
  2. Exactly. This is the user side, and T9 provided the science side.
  3. ^^^That pretty much puts together my plan. There has to be some oddball structural element - spot on the spot - in that mess. You have put a mental image together in your head using the graph. I mean, think about it, how many times have you walked through a stand of trees, and the terrain is completely flat, with with no grade change, creek channels, or whatever.
  4. Xpress is all aluminum, too.
  5. Try looking at the the boats I listed. They are NOT walleye boats. They are pretty much EXACTLY what you described you wanted, lol. For aluminum, try Xpress. I miss mine. Should have never sold it. https://xpressboats.com/utility-series/ Configure it the way you want.
  6. Take a look at Tuffy boats. The Esox, Magnum, and X-170 sound right up your alley. These are NOT low end boats, but solidly built and strictly for fishing. http://www.tuffyboats.com
  7. Boat, Boat, guest, kayak, shore. The amount of tackle I bring decreases from left to right.
  8. Smallmouth and largemouth are both primarily, and most active crepuscular feeders - dawn and dusk. That you can catch them in the daytime means you can catch them at night too. Like anything else, you have to find the active ones.
  9. This is a situation where I find smaller topwater to throw. If fish are that aggressive, it isn't the bait, it's the location and the timing, and the specific just probably won't matter.
  10. You guys better be nice, or it will be, "things the ex-wife says." The only answer to that is, "where's the support check!"
  11. You'd want to ask if it's included. I winterize mine myself, and change out the impeller every other year. It's a little tricky, but not hard, if you're somewhat mechanically inclined.
  12. What buzzkill. To @JRez: nice job!
  13. I have two I really like. In fact, I have two of each, lol. Avid AVS63MLXF and AVS63MFL. All are paired with OG Stradic CI4 2500/3000.
  14. Just like the fantasy football teams we've had in the past, the bragging rights should be reward enough.
  15. I have something similar on my Sierra for Serius/XM. It's pretty tough, I hang onto it when I'm washing the truck, lol.
  16. Here you go, tons of info linked here:
  17. That's always a drawback with anything other than the top of the line stuff, like Thule or Yakima. I've seen less expensive ones, but it looked like a pain to take them off if you wanted carry tall cargo. I typically put both kayaks in my bed, and then any other cargo goes in the kayak, or in plastic bins strapped in on top of them. You could probably go the 2x4 route, and make it easy to remove and replace the crossbars. Just brainstorming out loud here...
  18. I'd say start working with some Texas Rigged plastics. Start with a 3/8 oz. bullet sinker, some worm hooks and 7" ribbon tail worms. It doesn't have to be complicated. Any old MH/F rod will work. Start casting to breaks in 7-12' water.
  19. You're going to have to take this off the board.
  20. Sounds like gambling to me, which would be no bueno here.
  21. I wouldn't do the roof rack on a pickup. You should be able to get a ladder rack for a lot less than that. You could also easily make your own out a few 2x4s. Wrap your cross beams with pool noodles, and tie the kayaks down with cam lock straps.
  22. No, you do not. You simply burn off the fogging oil (if it was fogged) and replace the spark plugs each spring.
