Your Top 3 Jerkbaits?
Explain that to my FlashMinnow 115. It's over a decade old, and predates the FlashPointer. The best we could figure out (@Maico1 and I) was it's a JDM, or a Euro DM only. It's unlike ANY of my locally purchased Flashminnows.

Layering Socks
Why? Our brown fish are bigger than yours (both bass and trout).

Shooting for 14!
I think if you get one without (or very minimal) spots, you can call it an Aurora.

Shooting for 14!
That's a toughy. Do your research - there are still some naturalized populations in some lakes.

Layering Socks
He's in Florida. What works for him won't work for me. Location - - - always counts. Like I said before, want to get out of the sub zero temps? Get in the water. At least that's 32°!

Your Top 3 Jerkbaits?
I hav so many jerkbaits, but there is one particular bait I turn to, an old JDM Flashminnow115 in MS Am. Shad. The thing gets bit, and I've never been able to find another. It was given to me by a friend many years ago.

2000 Ford Ranger
And wiper transmissions, if you get a Chevy, lol.

2000 Ford Ranger
Seems high. My son just bought a 2005 Silverado 5.3L Ex. Cab for $5K. Around the same mileage. It had some minor issues, mostly cosmetic, and needed an oil pressure sensor ($100 installed). Keep saving and looking.

Is mono the answer?
First off, this is wrong, per the inventor of L&L. Just spray it on the spool as you fill it up. Let sit over night. Sounds picky, but I'm not sure where this bit of bad advice came from, and it's my mission to dispel the bad practice. It defeats the purpose of the product. Second, you actually want a bit of memory on your spinning reel. It keeps the line from jumping off the spool. Once you make a few casts, and the line is wet and around the same temp as the water, it's rarely an issue. Last, and this bit of advice is purely subjective, give InvisX a try. It's my go to for finesse, when light braid to leader is inappropriate or inconvenient in spinning gear. 6# size is what I use.

Question for those in local bass clubs
Most local clubs are full of boaters that like to have some no pressure, friendly competition, are willing to teach, and just have some camaraderie with like minded people. There's a dearth of non-boaters in my area, so they're always a welcome addition. Don't get caught thinking you're not good enough. If you have some gear, some skill at catching, you're further ahead than you think. You'll only get better fishing in small club events.

HELP! ADVICE ON TUNGSTEN WEIGHTS
Same reason I pick out funky beads when I visit Corning - personal appeal. I like to put them between the weight and the hook, un-pegged. Especially when fishing a ribbon tail worm.

Layering Socks
Most of the times I'm out fishing in winter, it's warmer in the water than out.

Reel & Rod match
My answer depends on what type of line and size you're putting on it. If it's 6-8 lb. fluorocarbon, then a 2500 series. 10-20 lb. braid, and the 1000 series will suit you fine. BTW, I'm a three fingers forward guy. One of my largest bass was caught on a 1000 series Stradic and braid and a ML/XH rod:
-
Braid wrapped around the tip of your rod.
Exactly. We call it "strokin' a jig" up here. Not sure if that's the official term, but I've seen it in a few articles written about it.

Seaguar Invisx vs. Abrasx vs. Red Label
I don't use a lot of fluorocarbon for heavier applications, and if I use a leader, it's leader material for me, not reel fill. If Tatsu is out of your budget, you're going to do well with InvisX, up to 8 lb. size on spinning. I generally use 6 lb., and it's very durable, reliable, knots hold well, and it's easy to manage on spinning gear.

Braid wrapped around the tip of your rod.
Drives me nuts. I know EVERYONE says there's no twist effect on braid, but there is. It results in wind knots and tip wrap. Troll it out, and reel in between your thumb. It's also the reason I don't prefer a really "limp" braid. I like it to have some body.

How does this boat gain 1,500lbs. with a trailer?
This is one of those threads that I like because it really helps someone learn what's up.

What is this...
If I understand BBB's catalog/SKU numbering system - DSG-AST-BASS01 would translate to "Dick's Sporting Goods Assorted Bass Number 1." There's probably a number 2, 3, and so on (or could be in the future). *the retail never leaves you, lol.

HELP! ADVICE ON TUNGSTEN WEIGHTS
I agree, and I also avoid unpainted weights. I inspect them before using them as well. I do not like weights with inserts. If you have to put an insert in there to protect against nicks, then I question the quality of the weight itself.
-
Estimating weight only by length?
If you say so, then.

How do you fish the Ned rig?
Try this: https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/ned-rig.html
-
Double Duty Rod
Nope. I like my x-heavy flipping sticks to be mod-fast. I want the whole rod to load up, and exert force on the fish without worrying about some floppy tip. They also work as a frog rod, though can be a little bulky with the big rear grip. Definitely do-able, though.

Fishmas 2016
He and his wife just had a second baby, so they have their hands full, which is why you probably didn't hear from him.
