  1. Happy Birthday!
  2. It's snoozer of a feature for me. It's mostly about aesthetics, and what is expected to make reel seem "high end."
  3. From their checkout: Small Order Charges. Barlow's does not have a minimum order but must charge a fee for small orders. Orders less than $15.00 in merchandise will incur a small order fee of $4.00 plus specified postage. If you do not want to incur this fee please go back and order $15 in merchandise. Please note that this fee will not show on your order until the final 2 checkout pages. International customers please note there is a minimum order of $100 U.S. in merchandise. I don't think Tennessee counts as international.
  4. The marabou/football jig in the second pic would get chomped up here!
  5. Also keeps stuff from sliding all over the place.
  6. Barlow's is very reputable. Jann's Netcraft has it too, and seems to be the cheapest, well known supplier.
  7. As teenagers, we intentionally capsized our canoe (it was also heavy, like yours) to see if we could right it without too much water inside. It wasn't easy for two of us, but we got it righted without too much water. I can't see one person doing it, unless is was a very light, carbon fiber hulled craft.
  8. Here's my submission. It's a bed fishing jig
  9. Quite a few of the upgrades you want to do can be sourced from Yakattack.
  10. Mine go in the garage, or in the barn with the boat.
  11. Greenland style of rolling. Here's a decent resource: http://qajaqrolls.com/rolls I don't know how you'd do any of this in a canoe.
  12. I use a Helix 5 in my hybrid kayak/canoe, a Wilderness Systems Commander 140. SI, ID, traditional sonar, and GPS all are well used. Once I've SI'd a location, I get down to the nitty-gritty with the combo DI/traditional sonar view. I use a deployment arm from Yakattack for the transducer.
  13. Not even close: http://www.wikihow.com/Tie-a-Hangmans-Noose @Bass Turd, I'm sorry to hear this. Lost many friends to various addictions. As has been said, they have to be the ones to decide where rock bottom is, and get up and climb out themselves. This is no fault of yours.
  14. I totally disagree with this assessment. The people that offer best advice often back that up with results. It's not always an ego stroke.
  15. Sad. Loved that guy. RIP.
  16. You're crazy. LOL. Most of what is generated on the page of my application is the result of C#, AngularJS, JSON, CSS and a few other technologies.
  17. My only gripe with FB, is that anything published there is theirs forever. It's a minor thought, though. But it is the easiest solution and you can easily promote it through Twitter, and FB itself. Good luck!
  18. Based on what you want to do, I can hardly see you monetizing it for profit. I think blog site is probably the best way to start. Many of my fishing friends have them. You can post pics, video, and stories, and many are free, or of little cost. Just be careful of how you share this info, many sites - this site included - do not allow self promotion. Twitter and FB are your allies here. Share your site to your friends, and let it snowball from there.
  19. I don't have my own website, but I develop web applications as my job. No one, and I mean no one codes purely in raw HTML. Doesn't mean you don't have to know it. I recommend starting with a package deal. They combine hosting, design tools, and any app/widgets for ads, eCommerce, etc.
  20. I would rather a bass boat stay on plane, when they pass and I'm in a kayak, or other small craft. There's less of a wake, than when they're plowing water.
  21. They've been around for a few years. They haven't caught on, other than few semi-viral posts within some FB groups.
  22. Pretty much the same here, too. I always use a right handed on top, two handed cast. My left hand is on the palm plate, right on the handle before the bait touches down. It's neither inefficient, or slow, as many suggest. Anyone that has fished with me knows I'm like a machine gun caster.
  23. Wire brush for battery terminals.
  24. I use an old 10' Shimano Convergence with a "Michigan" grip that was meant for crappie with a centerpin reel in some of the narrower ditches that can't accommodate my longer rods. I believe it was actually designed for crappie fishing. Worked okay, but you had be careful if the fish was over that 10# mark. I've even used my medium-mod crankbait rod without issue. There's no set rules, but there are better tools for the job.
