  1. And aluminum can be recycled pop cans, billet, or aircraft grade.... The term means nothing.
  2. Good work. Great rod! I have the lower Eyecon version, as well as a couple of the Avid versions. Yours should be lighter, more sensitive, and a nicer build.
  3. Oh god. Seriously saddened.
  4. Oh man, if it's who I think you mean, he was way too young. This guy? http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/user/20467-soflabassaddict/
  5. We only do this for new members, not members with 200+ posts. The rationale is that by that time, they understand how the site works. You need only click on your name in the upper right, and pick "My Content" to find all your threads and posts.
  6. Crank baits, swimbaits, umbrella rigs, bucktail spinners.
  7. 10-20# braid, but if you're breaking off, check you drag setting.
  8. My favorite trig worm is pi.
  9. My buddy is on Cashion Rods pro staff. Their stuff did not turn my screws. No comment on the other brand.
  10. I'm an engineer on a team that develops a School Management System utilized by over 400 RICs, when I get on the water, I just want to use my gear, and not worry about technical things like this. I'll leave the technical details to you, and stick to, "It works fine with the Lakemaster chip."
  11. Then I guess they're there in the unit's memory. All I did was save them. I'm not sure what is stored where...the card stays in the unit.
  12. Motor Oil is one of those cool, all purpose colors. Pretty much works in any situation.
  13. Ragetail Recon worm or Berkley Power Worm.
  14. I can't remember, but the capacity is WAYYYYYY more than I'd ever use. There's probably 50 or so snapshots, less than 50 waypoints and a few recorded sessions. I probably don't use it as much as I could. It's on one of my kayaks. I do notice it's a little snow initially, but once the full map is painted, it works fine. It probably takes around 30 seconds to paint the map to the screen. Not really slow enough to bother me - I mean I'm only paddling 2-3 mph, have plenty of time to be patient.
  15. From the unnecessary censorship stock files....
  16. Ghetto? I call it "an elegant solution."
  17. Whatever excuse makes you feel better works, I guess. I don't blame my lures, I chalk it up to not being there when they were willing to bite.
  18. I got a Lakemaster for my Helix 5, it works as well as any of my other units.
  19. Maybe sunglasses would have helped. Sounds like speed was an issue. Can't see, slow down, way down.
  20. Nice work. I've done the rainbow/brown/king in a day, but I never caught a brookie. There's only a few waters here that support them, and they are Great Lakes tribs, so I don't usually hit them.
  21. There usually isn't enough there to fill a spool after all the reties, so I discard the old stuff. Like I said, I'm not hard up for the few bucks a fresh spool costs, especially since a spool generally lasts me at least two seaons.
  22. Having the troller with the graph unit is not good. WILL create interference is the key word. I don't see an issue with the lights, though they are almost always wired into the cranking battery. In every boat I've owned, the trolling motor is on it's own 24v circuit. The rest runs off the cranker, or another auxiliary battery, such as when running multiple high draw side imaging/GPS units.
  23. I don't hold a rod any differently when I'm in a kayak. I guess it depends on SOT/SINK, hybrid, stand/sit, and seat design. Modern, raised seating seems to have helped, but it's really sounding to me that it's still an issue. These are good things to hear about, and I can take them back to at least one company's designers. Though, they have really worked hard on this aspect. You should be able to use whatever rod you like in a kayak, with proper seating.
  24. What are you trying to do? Be specific with the setup...is it electric only, or is there outboard, etc..
