  1. As some have found, a perfectly filled spool can end up with line stacked a bit unevenly, especially if it's used for moving baits, and you're putting pressure in direction. The spool will load a bit unevenly, and on some reels, the line will rub on the frame cross members. No good comes of this. Some of the newer, super recessed form factor reels are less forgiving than low pros from just a couple years ago.
  2. I don't agrree. They all get this much attention. What bait did Kriet use? Where can I get that color red eye shad? Hand painted wiggle warts? Lol. All part of the fun
  3. You assume he bathes.
  4. Should he share the rest of what he knows? Actually sharing the location of those brush piles with another competitor is against the rules. He can't unknow or undo what he's done in years living on the lake.
  5. I missed the secret part…the brush piles are all you guys want to talk about.
  6. "The thrill is gone…" Frank, we're afflicted with a passion. Fishing is the cure.
  7. Actually, local help is wayyyyy more against the rules than brush piles.
  8. The lake I fish has a average depth of almost 300'. Power Poles would be pretty handy, despite that stat.
  9. Your favorite, most expensive, irreplaceable bait in your tackle box.
  10. Aurora covers are the finest you can get. Mine fits my Bullet like glove.
  11. I usually fill to 1/8" of the first lip.
  12. October, in the North would be nice for a change. It's beautiful up here in the fall, and the fishing is outstanding. It takes 20+ lbs to even be in contention.
  13. They do this for abrasion resistance.
  14. Even one of the mods is an OG kayak basser…
  15. C Didn't fish too many tournaments, and the ones I did finished just out of the money. I did not stick a bunch of fish, or caught many monsters. I did not really try any new techniques, but stuck with what I know. I did get back into the kayak a lot more, and fished plenty of new water - water I pass over in the boat. So for that, I give myself a passing grade.
  16. This is one of the many reasons I had kids.
  17. My condolences, LE. My grandmother passed under similar circumstances, and what appeared to be on her own terms. RIP.
  18. If you rarely or never weigh your fish, chances are you won't be very good at it when the time comes.
  19. I weigh my fish to prove my hero status.
  20. They are looked down upon, by a few. Just like boaters are looked down upon by non boaters.
  21. If you can afford $500 per tournament, you sure as heck can afford your own boat.
  22. I believe they were recently classified as separate species.
