  1. Yes, they work. See the pick for mods I do to a Cleo. I fish them on a straight retrieve, occasionally adding a pause. What's more important is to get the speed right so it's a random wobble, not a stready vibration, though that catches, too.
  2. This news pops every once in a while. I'm against treating it with a chemical. Plus, it's not feasible to treat all the Great Lakes and connected waterways. What I have seen work on a couple smaller Finger Lakes is to lower the water level by 15' or so in winter. This isn't eradication, but it controls them. I'm not even sure they are a "bad" thing. No one complains about EU milfoil or alewife anymore. They've only made the fishing better.
  3. That depends on your purpose. I have over 10k files stored on my hosting service, all full res. if I need prints, or want to go back, they're all there, backed up, and secure.
  4. Not sure why I have to prove that I've seen it on recoil tips? I don't have a picture, but it was on a 13' GLX float rod. Braid mainline in a silty river environment.
  5. Yep, it's actually running, that's how we know. A ford would have just read zeros across all the gauges, LOL.
  6. Happens all the time in a tournament. Lightning, that's a deal breaker for me.
  7. http://www.hiyoooo.com/ Nice one. Thought maybe you were doing a brake stand, lol.
  8. Looks like there may be some cedar Poe's and old Bagley's in there as well.
  9. No different than you quoting something from the internet.
  10. Yeah, but there's some good ones in there!
  11. Wipe some Megastrike around the weep hole. You don't want it totally sealed.
  12. That's no fun.
  13. Just a little joke about confusing fishing and game restrictions.
  14. They aren't legal on odd Thursdays, and cannot be used with a tungsten weight less than 7 milliliters, unless it displaces one ounce of water during the second full moon of a given month.
  15. Trolling was SOP on Lake Ontario back in the 90s, for me. Catch three on a pass, you anchor up, and start soaking tubes.
  16. Me too. I didn't say I hated the translations, just that they're funny. We should get a group that posts like this for one whole day. That would be hilarious.
  17. LOL... English: I am going fishing in the morning. Translated Japanese: When the great ball of life rises from the eastern horizon, the dreams will vanish, only to appear a living dream of pursuing that which desire the most today.
  18. Maybe, for how you are fishing. That's the point - pick the tool that works best for the job. If you only push drywall screws into walls, then an impact driver probably isn't what you want. If you are building decks, then you can get away with a screw shooter, but a driver would be better. It's not like you're trying to drive screws with a hammer, or bang nails with channel locks - it's a little more subtle. Make sense?
  19. I chipped the top ring on my old frog rod, an Avid AVC70HF, and there was some grooving. I actually didn't realize it, and had a REALLY bad impression of Berkley Tracer braid. Lol, turns out it was my rod!
  20. To answer the main question here.... Can you fish a heavy power rod, 25# copoly or 65# braid, with a reel that fits in the palm of your hand?
  21. This is a weekly topic....there's a ton of them if you look. They are different tools, with some overlap. I use both.
